South African singer-songwriter Tyla has removed a scheduled show in Nigeria as tensions hamper relations between the two countries. No reason was given for the change to her tour, but it came after some Nigerians on social media had called for a boycott of the show. For months, South Africa has been the scene of protests -- some of them violent -- against African immigrants that demonstrators have blamed for crime, unemployment and a strain on public services. Nigeria has become particularly outspoken on the issue, and tension was evident as high-ranking officials from Abuja and Pretoria met this week at the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Tyla, known for hits such as "Water" and collaborations with American artists Cardi B and Travis Scott, had on Monday announced stops for a world tour for her second album, "A*POP", including Lagos, Nigeria's economic capital, as well as New York, Paris and Cape Town. As of Friday morning, the Lagos leg -- which had been timed to coincide with Nigeria's year-end concerts frenzy season known as "Detty December" -- had been removed from the line-up on her website. Representatives for Tyla did not immediately respond to a request for comment. nlfpmod

Judging by the list Lagos was the poorest city on the list. Tickets were probably half priced due to Tinubulation. Tyla is better off.

RandDigital:Saying South Africa has the highest population of successful Black men in Africa and yet claiming Nigerians are stealing your jobs only exposes the wide wealth inequality gap in SA. It's clear that misdirected anger and frustration are eating you up from within. |

| Re: South Africans React To Tyla Cancelling Nigeria Tour - PICTURES by IronGalaxy: 7:31pm On Aug 01 |
hucknall:Nobody says Nigerians are stealing Jobs' people are saying the large influx of unskilled immigrants from the continent, take the little from our poorest of poor, because these immigrants are willing to work for next to nothing therefore pricing out poor South Africans.. You guys talk too much without really taking time to understand what's really going on.. Nigerians in SA don't even do 9-5 jobs |

RandDigital:::: Where are you pulling the statistics up from... your rump? Stop manufacturing false statistics to boost your fragile ego because south Africa doesn't have more black African millionaires in dollars than Nigeria. Maybe you think it's to design a fancy and colorful poster and call it news/statistics. ::: |

IronGalaxy:::: You are confused in what you are even saying. If foreigners are offering cheap labor and pricing your (lazy) folks out of the market Is that not stealing your jobs? Confused folks that don't even know what there are arguing about and never have a straight forward argument. ::: |
