Don’t be surprised this man is still using MTN, very hypocritical and duplicitous fellow

Nice one there from boss falana.
Mtn,Stanbic IBTC bank, protea hotels, ShopRite and other SA companies in Nigeria should be sold to Nigerian owners.

They say Nigerians are drug dealers but who are the people buying those drugs if not South Africans.
Bad idea. Do you know the economic and security ramifications if the government moves against those companies? And they will sue and the government will likely lose.

However, individual boycott is fine.

A very disappointing advice from a well informed and educated hero of the masses.

How does boycotting a big corporation like MTN in Nigeria cow or cure opportunists, poor half illiterates working against their self interest in their own country?

As much as South African politicians know the adverse effects of this crude animalistic behavior, they want their votes to remain in Power.

The few South Africans like Melema boldly coming out against these crude animals know the risk as well.

Though not easy, but Falana missed wide!

Fàlàlà is not an informed lawyer jor, he often talks arrogantly and loudly on what he has very faint idea of. Nigeria interst far outweigh the interest of South africa in mtn Nigeria. He should ask osinbajo what he doesn't know about mtn nigeria

If Falana can provide a better network Low down times) than MTN then why Nigerians will not abandon MTN.

I don't use MTN as a general practice anymore no do I use any South African products the extent that I know its from there.

They will say its a drop in the bucket but that's the least I can do to show my disgust.

It pains me when people are planning to sabotage SA businesses based on xenophobia. The blacks in South Africa are next to almajiri. The own nothing in SA. They have nothing to lose at all. All major businesses are owned by the white.

This is definitely a crude way to address the problem. Throwing the baby and the dirty water away isn't right.

There are more potent ways to tackle the situation rather than the emotional response of revoking the boycotting MTN.

The coconut head of Femi Falana is not correct.

I bought my Mtn line for 16,000 Naira in 2003 and I will not discard it because of some incorrigible cultists & drug dealers who went to trigger Xenophobia in South Afrika and everywhere else they go.
Are you sure you are Nigerian?

Our homegrown or indigenous Telecommunication Company-GLO is a big disappointment with its unreliable services. Its network could go off in the middle of very vital and urgent task.

.... That can't be very possible!
We only need the Nigeria government to make a stiffer policy regulations, that will protect consumers.

Thanks.

Strategist.

Boycott MTN and fall back to GLO? angry

That'd have been the perfect way to pay SA back but our alternatives aren't helping matters at all.
Our business men are after government free money.

Many people will love to but Glo and Aitel will burn in 30 minutes if just half of MTN users migrate. The other networks are shity.

So, what now happens to the 6.6 million Nigerians owning MTN shares worth approximately ₦4 trillion Nairahuh
Did Activist Falana knows that MTN shares represent approximately 11.1% to 11.3% of the entire equity market value on the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX).
Truly, being a SAN does not equate to economic intelligence.

I share similar sentiments with you!

I think Fálànà often oversteps the limit of his depth. He may be a sound constitutional lawyer but certainly Economics and governance don't appear to be areas of strength for him.

Many of his takes on economics, governance & related matters are often populists, shallow and unrealistic.

My issue is with journos & media houses that court his opinions on matters that he's clearly not a subject matter expert.

There are much better quality contributors to public discuss by people with broader subject matter expertise than people like Fálànà.

We have to find a way to make a sharp statement against South Africa and their interests in Nigeria are the obvious option.

Ghana did not renew a minning contract they had and that jolted their senses a little bit.

The average South African does not understand the intricacies of how bilateral agreements or foreign investments. They believe we are irrelevant to their economic well-being because they have larger partners so let's show them.

To me it's like cutting off your nose to spite the face. What we did to Tyla is what will directly jolt them.

Tyla is very small fish in my opinion. We need to give our companies the advantage over theirs.
