Apparently
There was a deal between him and the late iyaloja of Isale Eko. She adopted him and he took her name. It was a real adoption because the woman was a responsible woman, a big market leader that is well known in Lagos. If someone like President Obasanjo adopts someone and the person is bearing his name and they didn't have any issue until he dies, who is anybody in Egba to say the person is not his offspring?

Haven’t you heard about indigent but brilliant children, who never went to school, but attended only local lessons in their neighborhoods, and passed the GCE or those who never attended higher institutions but passed the ICAN professional exams. How do you want them to write their educational records.

It is known for a fact that he forfeited hundreds of thousands of dollars to the US government. Money gotten from drug proceeds.
