Dear @TheoAbuAgada, in your capacity as a communications representative of the party, I respectfully urge you to ensure that @NigeriaNDCHQ addresses the ongoing issue surrounding the party’s logo decisively.

With barely five months to the elections, there is already significant confusion at the grassroots. Candidates and supporters are uncertain about which logo to use on campaign materials, and this lack of clarity could affect the party’s cohesion, visibility and preparedness ahead of the elections.

You have repeatedly stated that the party’s supreme leader is an experienced politician. I therefore believe he fully understands the electoral and political implications of allowing this uncertainty to persist.

The party needs to issue an official communiqué to all state chapters and relevant stakeholders, clearly stating the party’s approved logo on @inecnigeria , and providing uniform guidance on its use.

At this critical stage, the party cannot afford avoidable confusion or mixed messaging. We are working toward victory, and every decision, including clarity around the party’s identity and campaign materials must reflect that commitment.

I sincerely hope the delay is not a sign that the party is unprepared or intentionally trying to sabotage our chances at winning. The NDC must act decisively to protect and strengthen its chances at the polls.

Good morning Esther. Thank you for raising this concern. Last week, I raised this issue with the National Leadership of the party and efforts are being made to address this it. However, as an employee of the presidential candidate of our great party, the NDC, I find it disrespectful and completely unacceptable to refer to our national leader, my boss as a ‘Supreme Leader’ - a nomenclature that denotes an authoritarian regime, which Distinguished Senator Henry Seriake Dickson is not known for. HSD is a Democrat to the core and every individual who has had the opportunity to interact with him can attest to this fact.

Dear Emeka, I feel almost flattered, but I consider myself far too insignificant to be used as a tool in a purported “cold war.”

Peter Obi is widely known to be a peaceful and highly tolerant person, so much so that some people mistake his tolerance for weakness, without realizing that it is, in fact, one of his greatest strengths.

That said, Nigerians are suffering, and we are grateful that the leader of the party, Seriake Dickson, graciously provided a platform through which Peter Obi and the many Nigerians who believe he is the presidential candidate best positioned to move this country forward can work together.

Especially at a time when the President appeared determined to push the country towards a one-party state and undermine the democratic principles on which our nation has endured.

However, when we see certain things that are not ok, we will, in good faith, respectfully draw the attention of the relevant persons to them, just as I did earlier today when I called @TheoAbuAgada’s attention to the issue.

It is unfortunate that people who do not mean us well and thrive on divisive politics would quickly step in to twist words and create unnecessary tension. But that is okay.

We are a family in the NDC. Nobody is fighting a cold war or a hot war, least of all Peter Obi. Family members may disagree from time to time, and there is nothing wrong with that. What matters is that we remain focused on the larger goal.

Our goal is to market Peter Obi and the party effectively, win the elections, and usher in a better Nigeria. One where you, Emeka, your family, and indeed every Nigerian, including myself, can travel freely and safely, enjoy a good quality of life, access quality healthcare and education, and live with dignity.

A Nigeria where the son of nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody.

2027: Peter Obi’s aide raises concern over NDC logo confusion

An aide to the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, has called on the party leadership to urgently clarify its official logo ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Esther Umoh, who serves as Obi’s campaign photographer, made the appeal in a statement addressed to the NDC Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, Theo Abu Agada, on Wednesday.

Umoh expressed concern over the lingering controversy surrounding the party’s logo, warning that the uncertainty is creating confusion among supporters and candidates as preparations for the elections gather momentum.

According to her, the absence of a clear directive on the logo approved for use has left many party members unsure of the emblem to feature on campaign materials, a development she said could affect the party’s visibility, unity and readiness for the polls.

She urged the party leadership to issue an official communiqué to all state chapters and stakeholders, clearly identifying the logo recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and providing uniform guidelines for its usage.

“At this critical stage, the party cannot afford avoidable confusion or mixed messaging. We are working towards victory, and every decision, including clarity around the party’s identity and campaign materials, must reflect that commitment,” she said.

Umoh further expressed concern over the delay in resolving the issue, noting that she hopes it is not a sign of unpreparedness or actions capable of undermining the party’s electoral chances.

“The NDC must act decisively to protect and strengthen its chances at the polls,” she added.

Case in point @TheoAbuAgada . The governorship candidate of the NDC in Delta state has been putting in the work. Delta state is one state that is obidient to the core. He/we have a great chance at winning, but he/we can’t win with the wrong logo. Campaigns kick off on the 19th of this month.

For the life of me, I have no idea why the party and the persons saddled with that responsibility have chosen to remain quiet and unpertubbed about the discrepancies in their logo till now.

Even channels tv and some TV stations from time to time display a totally different logo as NDC's logo yet the party is quiet. I can't but conclude that it is very deliberate both on the side of the party and those TV stations.

I'll say this, in order not to waste our efforts and hard work, Dr Tanko, the Obidient Movement and everyone of us should start educating ourselves on the need to start using the right logo now. Let all cells and groups both old and the ones to be created be introduced to the correct logo of the party use it on their banners, posters and stickers.

Our efforts will not be in vain.

Incase you already printed a banner with the wrong NDC logo, you don’t have to reprint the entire banner. Simply print a sticker of the correct NDC logo & stick over the incorrect one.
