Seems you don't know Peter Obi. He has always been like this even when he was governor. He went about donating computers, money and other stuffs to schools and several organizations and that's why Anambra went from being 26th in waec to one of the best states, a standard that has been maintained till date despite years after leaving government.

Yes, a lot of them misbehave when eventually in office, but this man stands out, I have known him long before he even became a governor in anambra, he didnt misbehave when he became governor, infact he was twice impeached because he refuse to dance to the corruption music of law makers in the state house of assembly, one issue I believe he will have if he is elected president will be with the national assembly, I just hope and pray they dont un-alive him, he is just too disciplined when it comes to finance. And I pray he gets loyal and trustworthy cabinet. If not, you see this politicians that we have, they will stain his white.

This is purely vote buying and nobody should cry when EFCC swing into action. Obi's buying votes of the people. This is unsolicited donations and it qualifies for Vote Buying by pretence. EFCC should invite Obi even though the effects of the donation is inconsequential.

I wish we give it to Obi in 2027 so that Nigeria and Nigerians can know that he's empty. Let's see if Nigerians will still hype him after 2 years. Nigerians would want to see how Obi would take tough decisions, sort out Nigeria out of international challenges, and please majority of Nigerians. Not until then, his data boys will think he's a Messiah. Governance is not about noise on social media or people hyping you neither is it about clamping your car at the airport.

Elected officials do not do 'gesture', they govern. And if done well gains better traction, depth and spread.
I always say this. Get the economy working and most of these 'interventions' will be unnecessary.

The people should begin to see beyond tokenism. We, the people and the government, we all love handouts too much, we love money exceedingly, we love the fish but are inconsiderate of the net and the boat.

So, yes as a private individual, it is a good deed but that is because it is an acknowledgement that it is all a citizen can do towards another.

Government is a different matter. An absolute level of responsibility. In government you are not doing favours, you are doing THE WORK for which you are entrusted with so much authority and so much resources.

Your parent is not doing a gesture when he is sending you to school, it is his social responsibility. His investment. The scholarships board on the other hand is.
