Turns out his suspicions weren't totally unfounded. We as a nation just have to do away with age-cheating. The lack of integrity is nauseating.

These guys don't look 18 or U18 to me,the people that cleared them to represent us in U 18 competition need to be sacked because we can't just continue doing things the wrong way.

....Sad that our baby girl (KIKI) choose to rep U.S at the Americup, we would have built a team around her now....Unfortunately, she might never play a world cup or Olympics with them....

IKR!

There has to some sub-conscious ethnic bias when it comes to Team USA’s roster selections for the Olympics (and World Cup), because I’m yet to hear a convincing argument as to why prime Nneka Ogwumike, Arike Ogunbowale (Olympics) and now, Kiki, weren’t/aren’t good enough for those premier tournaments 🤷🏾‍♂️

Nneka Ogwumike played at the World Cup for the USA. Please check the records. She played at the 2018 FIBA Women's World Cup in Spain against Nigeria. She has however not played at the Olympics for the USA which is sad. Arike has not played any major championship for the USA. This is a trend that is developing which Kiki Iriafen should have stayed out of by playing for Nigeria. She would be in China with Rena Wakama and our Nigerian squad. She would most likely get a shirt in the D'tigress squad for Berlin 2026. Other Nigerian-American talented female basketballers should learn from what is going on to avoid stories that touch the heart later on. Cheers.

I know Nneka has played at the World Cup; I was referring to the coaches snubbing her when it came to the Olympics.

Ok. This year's FIBA Women's World Cup is going to be very competitive. Coach Rena should use the friendly games lined up for D'tigress to select a team that can fight for the trophy against all opposition. D'tigress are past the stage of just being satisfied with getting a Quarter Final ticket 🙏. The game should never be over until the last second of the 4th Quarter. Cheers.

No na.

First, the US list historically has big misses that has nothing to do with ethnicity. Of course politics sometimes plays into why some of this happens but other times it's just fit or coaching preference.

Of the 3 names mentioned, Nneka really is the only snub. She however had an illustrious USA career as she rostered for 2 world cups (2014 and 2018) and won gold in both occasion. The 2016 snub was really a Geno thing and she wasn't the only snub (Candace Packer was also snubbed). Arike was never the kind of player the USA typically takes on tourneys. She's a volume shooter, who is highly inefficient, without WNBA laurels and add little on other areas (terrible on defence and can't playmake). She's never going to make the team.

Kiki's decision is still the most frustrating. I never believed she'll make that decision. Not even when her name was announced, I hoped that by some miracle she would refuse the invitation. I was wrong.

Unfortunately nothing much will change. I think Rena rewards loyalty so she may end up taking some of the players who shouldn't be there. You can see the pattern with Sarah Ogoke. I won't be surprised if Blessing Ejiofor, Ifunaya Okoro and Vera Ojonuwa makes roster. I expect maybe 2 new additions, you'll likely see 10 players returning.
