I love that too. We have one river close to our house. That's where we put our paper boat and watch it move cheesy away.

I didn't really like that. I preferred making kites or paper boats

That digestive whole meal was bae back then. I remember during boarding school days back then in Jtown in 1999. Sometimes for brunch we will be given one or two packs with tea and it was really filling and satisfying.

Movies like "sound of music" there was a chewing gum they sell for 50kobo, it's twisted at both end... Something "banana".
An exercise book with someone tie to a stick in a manner like they are roasting the person.

We use paper to create a boat, to create a bird where you pull the tail side and the wings start's flapping.
That chewing gum, I bought it for 5 naira, it's there you would see some facts in football, that's where I saw that, the Nigeria game vs Indian never happened, so many facts too were written inside the wraps, nostalgic days.

Hahaha... That football match with the cover of Coca-Cola bottles was the main thing back then in my estate.
We played competition and one of us who was creative did a trophy using cigarettes linings for gold, silver and bronze.
Yeah, with bulb and peak milk can, the can is torn to fit the base of the light bulb, then you wrap the fitted bulb, and the milk can with the cigarette lining, and gum with water gum lol., I do sha oo

Everything feels so messed up now. It doesn't even feel like we're living anymore. These days it's just sex, hunger, work, politics, religion, terrorism... one problem after another.

Even when most Nigerians were poor back then, people still found reasons to smile. Families could go about their daily lives, come back home, and afford the basics. Crime was lower, communities felt safer, and many everyday things were more affordable.

Politics has become so divisive that it feels like we've lost sight of the country we all wanted to build. Looking at where we are today is honestly heartbreaking. Sometimes, I just feel like crying.
