Once una see oyinbo, you don get validation be that.
Minimum wage in a day in Europe is more than double the minimum wage a month in Nigeria. Yet you don't think it is heartless for us to pay about half the price of their diesel price in Nigeria?

We are talking about the rate of fuel in both Nigeria and Europe not the standard of living. How much is a rent in Europe compared to Nigeria
You can't compare. Minimum wage a day in Europe is more than double our minimum wage a month here. So what are you arguing? You guys can defend the bad thing.

Most of you act completely ignorant.

Is it hate or your willingness to live in a world of illusions?

The price of fuel would NEVER be cheaper than it is today.

Once oyinbo tells you something, it is gospel
Where did you go in Europe that they made you think fuel is as cheap as chips?

You mean the European who is paying times 2 in his country is right to expect ours to be cheaper?

Yet he buys, avocado, banana, his staples at 6 times the cost in his own country.

Get real.

13 euros an hour, is crazy when it comes to purchase of diesel. That is like 20,000 an hour and meaning in 4 hours he can make 80,000 to buy the amount of diesel in that video. Which is more than our monthly minimum wage. Yet he called it expensive. Then think of the burden on Nigerians.
Don’t waste your time educating someone that is hypocritical.

Even those earning 500k in Nigeria and drive cars find it difficult fueling their vehicles as they used to.

The country that is experiencing war first hand that is Iran still sells their petrol at 0.39usd per liter...
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://tradingeconomics.com/iran/gasoline

A country experiencing no war, and with one of the biggest refineries in the world sells at one of the highest prices to its citizens in world as compared to Eurooe and America ...isn't this a shame??

USA price per liter of petrol is 1.17usd

Russia 0.91USD

Venezuela 0.039usd per liter

Can you compare the standard of living of citizens living in these countries selling as high as we buy here in Nigeria??

So nothing like economy of scale in dangote refinery?

We just have wicked leaders....Money that when they die they won't take a long with them.

Shame on Kanu cult members turned Obidents who demonize and disgrace their country because they can't break it up or forcefully install their own candidate as president. They're quick to believe and spread lies about the same country they claim to be fighting to change to a better one.

How can a fully grown up adult believe dat fuel that's sold above €1 = #1,580 is cheaper dan d less #1,300 it's sold here⁉️

What kind of evil heart can make people reason like dis daily, weekly, monthly, year after year⁉️🙆🏿

Don't dey have any Shame ⁉️🙆🏿

Basic common sense that crude oil price is benchmarked and global in usd. Even with Subsidy removal, the price of gasoline in Nigeria is cheaper than over 90% of the world countries.

The annoying thing is people like you will see and know the truth but won’t say it and na God go judge una.

In Germany for example, a litre of petrol is 2.1 Euros. Their minimum wage per hour is Averagely 13 euros. 1 hour of minimum wage work will get you 6.4 liters
In Nigeria, our minimum wage is 70k monthly, Less than 400 naira per hour and petrol is currently almost 1400, that means you have to work 4 hours to buy a liter of petrol.
Note: Average Germans don’t depend daily on petrol as we Nigerian does also note Germany is not even an oil producing nation .

You people no suppose end well
Re: Fuel Is Way More Expensive In Nigeria Than Europe” – Tourist by oloriooko(m): 12:41pm On Aug 07
Price-wise our petrol is cheaper because it's quality is poor compared to Europe's
Dude our fuel quality is terrible compared to Europe's, the difference is miles apart which many of us don't care about, we are all about quantity not quality huh
Futhermore, our minimum wage compared to Europe is a huge difference

Are you OK at all?

Oil is a global commodity.

We would sell at market rate.

Ours is cheaper than found in Europe yet foe some reason, you have an issue with it.

I bought fuel 1290 Naira per liter this morning and that is not up to 1dollar or 1Euro.

Please we shouldn't believe what everyone post on the internet because it is a white man.

You are the one not okay chief,
Compare Nigeria oil price to prices in other oil producing Nations.
Now Compare Nigeria oil price to the same oil price they are selling it overseas with a better standard of living..

Which other oil producing nations?

You mean like Kuwait of 5 million people, the population of Agege and Alimosho yet produces more than the entire Nigeria?

That's the least producing Middle Eastern country i just gave you.

And ours is cheaper.

So what are you saying?

For your information, the oil you are screaming about is just 1.6 million barrels a day.

Not even a real top producer with a population of 250 million people.

One of the problems of Nigeria is the limited ability to think beyond headlines.

If you reduce the price then all of Africa will take advantage through the black market and Nigerians will still be left with no fuel. Keep the price high and help citizens who need help. You guys who keep complaining are either traffickers either foreigners.

Otherwise why would he insist lower petrol price for Nigerians who are extreme poverty paupers and jobless akara sellers?

Jobless because Remi Tinubu’s husband failed to deliver his 50 million jobs promised.

Unfortunately, Buhari, Tinubu and APC have worsened our jobless, extreme poverty situation in the last 11 years of palliative sharing empowerment that replaced PDP’s 16 years of widespread prosperity, peace and security.

Nigeria remains fourth largest economy in Africa despite rebasing

July 21, 2025

Nigeria has retained its status as the fourth largest economy in Africa despite a rebasing exercise that expanded the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) announced that the economy expanded to N372.8 trillion ($243 billion) in 2024, down from N314.02 trillion in the prior year as more sectors in the informal economy were considered in its calculations.

The statistics bureau adopted 2019 as its base year away from 2010 that’s previously reported.

The rebasing exercise covers the period from 2019 to 2023 and reflects changes in the economy’s structure, sectoral contributions, and data sources.

Despite the overhaul, Nigeria fails to reclaim its erstwhile status as the largest economy in Africa.

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), South Africa remains the continent’s biggest economy with a GDP of $410.34 billion for a country with little over a quarter of Nigeria’s population.

Following the Southern African nation is Egypt with a GDP of $347 billion while Algeria maintains its third position having $268.9 billion as the size of its economy.

Although Nigeria’s economy grew 30 percent above the projected $188 billion estimate by the IMF this year, the rebasing was poised to place the economy as the biggest in Africa.
