📖 Judges 16 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ²⁹ And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left. ³⁰ And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. Biblical Samson was widely known as the strongest human ever in history. (Not Hercules who was just Greek mythology) His great supernatural strength bewildered the Philistines as he killed them so easily with his hands in their hundreds and thousands. Apart from that, he killed a lion 🦁 with his hands, manually caught three hundred foxes 🦊, shouldered the gates of a city with its posts including bar and pulled down a building. However the life of Samson has drawn mixed reactions from Christians because of him soliciting a prostitute, his capture, blinding, mockery and tragedy. Did Samson really die fulfilled or as a failure? Samson's name was actually recorded among the heroes of faith. (Hebrews 11:32) While not justifying his weaknesses, if he had died as a failure, his life wouldn't have counted much in bible history. Ironically In his premature death, he killed more Philistines than he did in his lifetime, thus fulfilling his destiny. (Judges 13:5) 👉Life is about destiny fulfillment...are you fulfilling destiny? It's not how long you live but how well you live fulfilling God's purpose of creating you on earth 🌎. If God didn't give up on Samson even when he was completely down and out, God won't give up on us either. Regardless of the setbacks you might have passed through, destiny fulfilment is still a possibility by God's grace as long as you earnestly seek it.

He did not die fullly filled. Rather he was a failure whom God had mercy on and allowed him to leave and escape the punishments of his sins as delivered by men |

Let us check the book of life? And what more will I say? For time will fail me if I go on to relate about Gidʹe·on, Baʹrak, Samson, Jephʹthah, David, as well as Samuel and the other prophets. Hebrews 11:32 So, then, because we have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also throw off every weight and the sin that easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1 Is Samson mentioned along with those whose witness should encourage us? YES! So according to God's word Samson lived a fulfilled life! |

MaxInDHouse:Wonderful!!! You couldn't have explained it better....thanks! Sadly, some people like the first commenter still see Samson as a failure when he actually killed more Philistines at his death than throughout his lifetime. |

Which reasonable person does not see that Hebrews 11 is talking about people who exercised "Faith" in God? But exercising Faith in God does not in all cases mean full fillment. Full fillment comes at the end and conclusion of a person's life like Jesus Said "it is finished" Same for Stephen and same for Paul "i have finished the race and won the fight". That is full fillment. Partial full fillment is not full fillment ask Saul, Solomon, Absalom, Lot's wife, Adam etc |

Dtruthspeaker:Which of these names you mentioned appeared in Hebrews 11? You are actually shooting down your own point. Samson lived a life of faith in life and in death. He displayed great faith in God during oppression. And just like Stephen, he died a hero. So if by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Samson's name appeared in Hebrews 11 as a hero, I don't know why mere men like you should speak otherwise. But am I surprised, hell no. We're in the last days and there are many scoffers out there twisting the scriptures. |

Debroslink:Is the Hebrew 11 not people who exercised "Faith" in God? Did Saul not do same or did Daniel and Job and Noah not do same? They even got the full score better than these people named, yet their names were not mentioned there. So, it is clear that Hebrews 11 only called them as examples of people who exercised faith as you see in the opening words of the Hebrews 11 which is strictly about faith. Nowhere did it say that when you exercise Faith in God it means you have made it and are full filled which is why I have given other examples of people who exercised the same faith in God and yet, they perished which you do not want to swallow, hence why you are raising all these invalid arguments to prevent you from accepting the Truth. We can all see that Samson's cup of sins got full and so God punished him by letting him to be delivered to his enemies (of which you pretend like you do not know that being delivered to your enemies is one of the punishments God promised will happen when you sin). And that we can all see that God left him there to suffer from his sins and that God gave him mercy that He caused the Philistines to make the mistake of forgetting to cut his hair as they know to do. And that is why he gained some strength to escape their torture So, unless God counts it that his sufferings at the Philistines hands was payments for his sins, Samson, like everyone, has cases to answer. And Hebrews 11 did not say that the people do not have a case to answer, only that they are examples of people who exercised faith. So, you are the one denying Truth because you believe that just having faith (whether you know the full meaning or not) is enough and that you hung hope that God had qualified and accepted Samson. Whereas, we can all see that his cup of sin got full and that God allowed evil to fall on him for a start for he has been sinning and messing up since. But, you cannot bear the Truth People swallow greedily any lie that flatters them, but sip only little by little or reject at a truth they find bitter". Denis Diderot Meanwhile The truth will set you free, but first it will make you miserable". U.S. President James A. Garfield |
