I’m a Christian, but I want to look at this honestly and without emotion. Having lived in Kaduna, Jos, Enugu, Abuja and Lafia, and visited places like Ogun, Delta and Lagos, I’ve seen how significant the Muslim population is, particularly across much of Northern Nigeria.

When you factor in population growth, birth rates, mortality and marriage patterns, it’s clear that Nigeria’s religious demographics will continue to evolve over generations.

But beyond the numbers, Nigeria belongs to all of us. Christians and Muslims are not enemies competing for space; we are Nigerians sharing the same country and hoping for a better future.

We can acknowledge demographic realities without turning them into fear or division. Numbers may change, but our shared humanity and responsibility to build a peaceful Nigeria should remain.

We have many states with a substantial number of Muslims in Nigeria where both the governor and the deputy are Christians.
Many religious political games are happening behind the scenes from both Christians and Muslims but Christians do theirs discreetly.

All they think is Muslims, Allah, taqiuh or whatever it is called. You're in the North seeing mostly Muslims and you think that's how it is all over the country, thank God we didn't allow this retrograding, tribalistic and bigotry of a religion in our backyard. Muslims and Christians are almost equal in this country.
