25GB Data With Less Than 30 Minutes Expiry—is This A Reward? by pafestula(op):
Imagine waking up at 1am to an SMS from MTN claiming you’ve been gifted 25GB of data to celebrate their 25th anniversary, only to check the timestamp and realize the validity expires in less than 30 minutes on the exact same day!

Looking at the time the message dropped versus when the data expires, how on earth is anyone expected to exhaust or meaningfully use 25GB in just a few minutes? Is this a genuine customer appreciation gesture, or just a PR stunt?

How can a telecom giant celebrate 25 years of customer loyalty like this? If you received this message or faced the exact same issue, kindly air your views below.

They know Nigerians are greedy and love freebies, that's why they use baits to keep them addicted to MTN. They started with Xtra Cool free midnight calls. What a fraudulent network.

MTN are just so annoying, it would have been better for them not to have talked about gifting their customers than making a mockery of them.
Imagine gifting a customer 25 minutes only to realize after the first 10 seconds of your first call that it's only valid for the first call of the day.
MTN are a set of greedy idiots

The moment I got the MTN network became so slow as if I was using 3G network

I was able to use 357MB out of 25GB

Their gift is a disgrace to a giant of Africa. Slap to faces of MTN users

Rogue bahavior is a normal setting among Nigerians and it is expected to be accepted from multi nationals like MTN to show such level of gullibility. Of what importance is that but to merely show like they care to the gullible leaders and political elite with poor knowledge of how things should work. It's a disgrace and shame to spite on their faces like that. I mean it is better to celebrate and not give anything than explain to the whole nation how poor knowledge of technology is endemic in the country and call it freebies. That's not love of freebies but show of shame. 25years of shame you!
