Nigerians In The Diaspora: Please Listen. The Time To Act Is Now. by Bigkoko(op):
NIGERIANS IN THE DIASPORA, PLEASE LISTEN. THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW.

If you are Nigerian and living abroad, I am asking you to do something simple but potentially consequential for the future of our country.

Give just two hours of your time.

If you are working in the West, imagine what two hours of your ordinary work shift represents. For a relatively small amount of money printing, postage, and perhaps with a few dollars, Euros or pounds, you can make your voice heard where it matters.

Write a letter to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, through the White House Chief of Staff or a senior political adviser. I will drop the address to route your letters. Not emails. A staff can easily or unknowingly spam the email without ever opening or logging it in.

Do not make it a partisan letter. Do not ask America to choose Nigeria’s next president.

Ask America to stand for something much more fundamental:

A FREE, FAIR, TRANSPARENT AND CREDIBLE NIGERIAN ELECTION.

Your letter should raise concerns about the risks you believe Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the leadership of INEC, influential political actors, and relevant judicial institutions could pose to the credibility of the 2027 electoral process—and ask that those concerns receive serious diplomatic attention and independent scrutiny.

Demand that the United States use its considerable diplomatic influence to encourage Nigerian institutions and political actors to protect the integrity of the electoral process.

Tell President Trump that Nigeria matters.

A credible election in Nigeria is not only good for Nigerians. It has implications for regional stability, migration, security, economic cooperation and, indirectly, the interests of American taxpayers.

And there is another reason this matters to Nigerians living abroad.

Millions of Nigerians in the diaspora still want to come home. Many would gladly consider returning if they could have confidence in a stable, transparent and accountable Nigeria where elections genuinely reflect the will of the people. Such that if a leader fails on it’s obligations, the next election circle will help right wrongs.

But that confidence must start somewhere.

It starts with a credible election.

We cannot continue to complain from social media while doing nothing beyond pressing “share.”

This is not about fighting anyone.

This is not about violence.

This is not about supporting one political party over another.

It is about defending the principle that Nigerians—not politicians, not electoral officials, not judges, and not powerful individuals—must determine who governs Nigeria.

Imagine thousands of Nigerians across America, Britain, Canada, Europe and elsewhere sending respectful, well-reasoned letters expressing the same democratic concern.

One letter may be ignored.

A critical mass of peaceful, coordinated civic voices is much harder to ignore.

So please, don’t just complain.

Write your letter.

Spend two hours worth of work shift.

Spend the postage.

Make your voice count.

Ask the United States to use its influence to support the Nigerian people’s right to a credible, peaceful and transparent 2027 election.

🇳🇬 Nigeria belongs to all of us—including those of us who live abroad.

THE TIME IS NOW.

To reach President Donald Trump directly and through his most trusted aides, use the following mailing address:

Sample of how a letter that would garner interest at the White House would look like:

URGENT APPEAL: PROTECT DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTIONS AND THE RULE OF LAW IN NIGERIA.

Dear President Trump,

I am a concerned citizen of Nigeria, writing from the Kingdom of Sweden, to draw your attention to what I believe is a grave risk to Nigeria’s democratic process and the will of its people.

The elections concerns Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a quasi-independent electoral umpire (INEC), a crop of corrupt judges and politicians bent on thwarting the Will of the people of Nigeria. The intentions of Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been clear for all to see. Recently he has forced changes in the Nigeria senate led by Mr. Godswill Akpabio, to drop “forgery” as ground for disqualification or election petition. This is particularly important because Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu identity, education is subject to controversies and secrecy. I respectfully demand the US government which your noble personality represent live up to its obligations in promoting democracy and rule of law around the world.

The upcoming electoral environment raises serious concerns about the independence of Nigeria’s electoral institutions, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as well as the integrity of the political and judicial processes surrounding presidential elections. In particular, questions concerning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s eligibility, identity, educational history, and the transparency of the institutions responsible for resolving such questions deserve careful and impartial scrutiny.

Since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule, many Nigerians have become increasingly disillusioned by the influence of entrenched political elites over the electoral process. We fear that the people’s constitutional right to freely choose their leaders can be undermined when electoral institutions, political actors, or judicial processes are perceived as lacking independence.

These matters deeply disturbs me because since the return of Democracy in Nigeria, a handful of corrupt political elites in Nigeria have high jacked the process of electing the president, in utter disregard for the Will of Nigerians. This became exceptionally noticeable during the Obama administration which the current govt has deep ties to.
Beside the hugh relieve your foresight and actions would provide to the Nigerian people, if you take action on this matter, it has an indirect effect on the American immigration policy you are executing right now. A lot of Nigerians in the US and Canada will head home believing a new era free from corrupt political elites have begun. With this you will write your name in Gold as the Enforcer of Rule of Law in Nigeria where most of your predecessors like Barak Obama have failed.

I write to respectfully urge the United States Government, under your leadership, to uphold its longstanding commitment to democracy, constitutional governance, human rights, anti-corruption efforts, and the rule of law. We particularly ask your administration to consider the principles embodied in the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 and the National Endowment for Democracy Act of 1983, including their emphasis on political rights, democratic institutions, accountability, and the rule of law.

I respectfully ask your administration to pay close attention to Nigeria’s democratic trajectory and to use every lawful diplomatic and executive means available to encourage transparent elections, independent institutions, credible dispute-resolution mechanisms, and respect for the rule of law.

Such leadership would not only provide enormous reassurance to the Nigerian people; it could also strengthen the confidence of Nigerians abroad who may one day wish to return home and contribute to a more democratic and prosperous Nigeria.

Mr. President, history often remembers leaders who stand firmly for democratic principles when those principles are under pressure. I respectfully ask that your administration help ensure that the voice and constitutional rights of the Nigerian people are protected.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Respectfully,

[Your Full Name]
A concerned Nigerian
Stockholm Sweden.

Let me confirm before I drop the routing address, ensuring those who has Trump’s ears on politics, Transparency and accountability receive the letters on behalf of Trump and must as an obligation of duty bring it to his hearing for action or way forward.

Trust me, that’s what Davido plans to if Tinubu dare rig Osun election, but as a US citizen, he can easily get Trump’s attention via his local congressman.

We are not US citizens but residing in the West place on us, a far more greater advantage to press changes at home from here.

Let’s do our bit.
Re: Nigerians In The Diaspora: Please Listen. The Time To Act Is Now. by WizardOfNG: 12:08pm On Aug 10
Stop talking nonsense. Even your mention about Davido shows you are desperate and misguided. Trump cannot interfere in our internal political affairs same as Tinubu can never have any influence over how the USA runs her politics.

You guys are fond of lobbying nations in the West like the USA, UK etal to help you interfere in the affairs of your nation that is sovereign and independent.

Yet, where has it got you? You play "food is ready" politics, typified by Obi, and don't build anything, anyone or political bridges/alliances yet you want to lead Nigeria you badmouth locally and abroad always and 24/7.

Forget this noise. Next year is for PBAT. Elections will be free and fair. Tinubu will win comfortably.

Thanks for reading.... but it's not for you. It's for Nigerians in West.

Better still you can write Trump admitting Tinubu will conduct Free & credible elections.

By the way, why are CATs triggered when Trump is mentioned? grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Mr. Tinubu must conduct a transparent 2027 elections

I will write one to Trump telling him that Tinubu is the best president since 1900.

I heard if we write letter to Trump consistently for 21 days, he will instruct INEC not to conduct any election and just swear in Jagaban for the next 16 years.

God bless President Bola Tinubu

Look, your desperation is obvious. You know Obi cannot win, based on his lack of capacity, in contrast to Tinubu, and you are seeking the help of the US, UK, ICJ, UN etc as you have always lobbies them to grant you Biafra.

What I dislike is how you guys never believe in building capacity, the story of Obi's political career, and you think last minute blackmail, threats and excessive talk can carry the day for you. Remember "all eyes on the judiciary"? What did it achieve?

Bro, you lot will always fail and fall short in Nigerian politics for the fact you are clannish and don't believe in investing in others or building political bridges and affiliations.

All these praises for the misguided Davido is because you believe words and blackmail influence Nigerian politics. They do not. Political capacity is what matters.

Stop feigning ignorance of what obtains in our nation. If Tinubu is 100% dedicated to removing Adeleke then he is gone and such will be achieved legitimately.

Let Davido report to Trump, Putin, Modi, Xi Jinping and UK PM Burnham even. Nothing will happen.

@OP.

Also, appealing to Nigerians in the diaspora is misguided because they are not about "Rice and Eba only" {Reno Omokri) as Nigerians at home are because of extreme poverty that existed before Tinubu.

They live in organised societies where they can buy homes on long term mortgages, typically 20 years or longer, and they see Tinubu is the only Nigerian President to do same with the MREIF scheme running a mortgage tenor of 20 years at single digit interest rate under 10% and they will reject such a President for your Obi?

You really don't know diasporans. I am one and this is why I support Tinubu ultra -passionately. I know policies and reforms that makes nations developed and I see Tinubu implementing so many other Presidents have avoided for decades to get out nation to the terrible state Tinubu inherited.

Diasporans don't have "Rice and Eba" mentality bro. They have learnt to think critically and logically, having conquered hunger along with living in developed and civilised nations.

See, emotions always compromise the ability of you guys to think critically and logically. That is why you never get anywhere in Nigerian federal politics and even your own sensible kinsmen advise you to refrain from bad politics.

Davido can threaten Tinubu with Trump how when Trump is now a staunch supporter of PBAT? US intelligence is top notch. They know a lot about Nigeria you don't.

They neutralised ISIS second in command in Nigeria. Trump has directly praised Tinubu because he knows PBAT is best. Their analytical and algorithmic intel makes them understand they cannot work under the cowardly and weak Obi.

The know Atiku will lead in ways that will favour the Northern elites yet has decimated the North over decades to create millions with the poorest human development index in the world.

The world sees Tinubu going where no President has gone before to include two military generals in OBJ and Buhari.

Dey play. The world is behind Tinubu. Listen to the lady below speaking about Presidents around the world discussing Tinubu.

Stop your obsession with attacking PBAT daily here. It is an exercise in futility because you don't understand Nigeria and believe your words and insults matter.

Actions and political capacity matter most in Nigeria, which Tinubu has, not talking alone that is what Obi is about.

Whereas politicians are responsible for leading millions of people.

Oh it's now you know?

One of the reasons why they saw post colonial independence as theirs was because they served the British colonialists with fervour. And expected to be the heir apparent to colonial rule.

That's why till this moment they still long for the British created Eastern Nigeria to lord over and oppress the minority people .

Independence meant different things to the 3 major ethnic groups in Nigeria.

The Hausa Fulani saw independence as a cue to restart their halted jihad.

The Ibo saw post colonial Nigeria as theirs to lord over as the new internal colonizers..

It was only the Yoruba that saw independence differently and that's why Yorubas never sought to expand beyond their pre colonial borders and that's why Midwest region was created by a 100% vote at the regional House in Ibadan to grant the minorities their own region.

But this was never the case in both the northern and eastern region where the majority did everything to suppress the minority people's from having their own region.

This is why with these two regions holding power early in our nation's history, nothing changed other than more corruption. Because these two aforementioned majority saw themselves as internal colonisers taken over from where the British stopped .

But being that both had a supremacist agenda to dominate and lord over the polity, the events of Jan 15 was expected.

The height of SE power in Nigeria coincided when they inherited the British colonised Eastern Region. So seeing them begging Rome aka Trump to give them Biafra and at the same time Obi as President, you should understand how that colonial sellout mentality still prevails.

Lol. They would not even dare do what OP suggests because they are wiser and have beaten hunger and deprivation pervasive in Nigeria

For example, FSBoerator, most Nigerians in the diaspora know the heavy taxes they pay and understand it it cannot be avoided as it is what gives them top notch infrastructure and services in their diasporan nation.

Will same folks , as they know better, then support rejection of the tax reform bill last year as Northerners and the SE lot demanded?

Of course not. They taxes, infrastructure, affordable mortgages, availability of university education, provision of critical infrastructure etc, all that Tinubu is delivering, will make Nigeria great and a nation they can move back to someday.

Consider another example of constant power supply diasporans enjoy, via paulying a fair amount for it, that Nigerians do not even wish to pay cost-reflective tariffs for because previous leaders, through abuse of subsidy in virtually every sector of national life, have left Nigerians.with the thinking they should pay little or nothing for everything.

Though I cannot confirm, I hear it is the norm to beat PHCN officials in the North when they attempt to disconnect power supply to businesses and residences not paying.

Even our former President ran up electricity bill in Aso Rock Tinubu responsibly cleared.

Why would diasporans reject PBAT when they know how developed nations got where they did through
provision of quality education, creating solutions providing human-resources, above average tax to GDP ratio providing infrastructure and public amenities etc.

All that and more Tinubu is addressing and all others before him neglected. Look at the quoted below yet those who do not want progress for Nigeria, and only seek an ethnic presidency, come here creating daily in effort to demarket a President who is the truth.

Separately, Tinubu's administration has undertaken a much larger programme to clear legacy debts across Nigeria's power sector. In April 2026, the Presidency announced a ₦3.3 trillion settlement plan covering debts accumulated from February 2015 to March 2025.

A crazy mindset but we in Nigeria offended baba God For him to send Obidients to our great country.
All Obidients I know creates value to this country

Whatever you do, don't stop supporting Trump.

We need your bad luck support on Trump.

This upcoming midterms are going to mark the begining of the end of both Trump and Jewish control of American politics.
Nothing will stop him from completing his last tenure so he is not contesting again. The important thing is he will be around to deal with drug baron and his cohort in 2027 election not like 2023 we had sleeping America president

Only you guys, because you don't come from a culture of respect who will think it is good for Davido to be insulting and dragging politicians when he is merely a singer.

Whereas politicians are responsible for leading millions of people. How many millions does Ok
Show the letter from Trump praising the drug baron and win 1 million
The drug baron that cannot go to usa since Trump because president. You think Trump doesn't know he contributed financially to stop his re-election
In my culture we only give respect to men of integrity. And he lacks it in everything.
My 1 million stands
I don't have obsession about him rather I hate everything he represents because it all has criminality

This is why I have no time nor respect for you guys. All you know is politics of toxicity you've engaged in since independence.

You think all Nigerians primordially hate Tinubu, as you lot do, and can never praise the good he is doing and completely pretend not to see it?

The AIPAC funded stooges in both the RNC and GOP will all lose their seats come this November.

Americans have always held Congress as the least trusted and most corrupted institution. Now they are seeing that their legislators are stooges to a foreign govt through blackmail and bribery.

A foreign govt that is as hostile and hateful towards Americans than even the Palestinians they are genociding.

Trump's impeachment and eventually conviction is certain.

And when that happens, the flood gates of corruption cases from states AG offices will surely see Trump convicted and sent to a state pen despite JD Vance not willing to allow Federal DOJ investigate Trump for his too many corruption cases piling up.

So pls, keep supporting Trump.

Your bad luck mojo on Trump is much needed.
