Blanching will wilt and overcook your vegetables easily, and you will flush some of the nutrients down the drain.

There are several ways of blanching. It all depends on the vegetable. Some vegetables are tough and some are not.

Black soup is a no no for me. That soup almost finish my career when I ate it in Delta state. From there na so I dey beg driver say I wan shit every 30mins for road till we reach Ekiti state.

This is so me. When I first started living alone I was constantly buying food and struggled with diarrhoea for nearly 2 years. I used every antidiarrheal medication there is to no avail until recently when i learnt I have a medical condition called bile acid malabsorption that made my gut extremely sensitive to dietary fat and oils which was heavily loaded in the foods I was buying.

Now I prepare my own meals no matter how tired I am with a teaspoon of oil at most and I've been fine for over 2 months now.

Please brother can you share with me how you found out it's acid malabsorption? Because it's like I'm suffering from the same ailment
I want to go and get my test results tomorrow

None of these soups should irritate your stomach if they are hygienically stored and prepared. Store your food items in hygienic condition. Wash your ingredients with clean water and vinegar or salt. Wash vegetables severally with vinegar. Last rinse should be without vinegar. Use clean water to cook. Wash your hands before eating...

The tests required to diagnose Bile acid malabsorption are incredibly advanced and very few labs in Nigeria, if any, perform them routinely, which is why the condition is highly underdiagnosed here. Many cases doctors just group them with Irritable bowel syndrome or other causes of diarrhea.

In my own case I stopped eating anything that contained fat and oils for 3 days and just like magic diarrhoea I struggled with for years stopped that was how I diagnosed myself.

Soak your vegetables with enough salt in water for some minutes before washing, and you will not experience that again.

The salt kills whatever is responsible for it.

1. When you wash the leaf, and drink the water it's medicinal, it washes, it cleanses. When you cook it , you won't necessarily, I took twice in a last two weeks, it helped . 3 days after, I could use the toilet.
