Nodisrespect, but most of these so called multi billion naira hospitals are fake.

I discovered this after then Senator traveled to Germany after a minor accident in Abuja when his car hit that of a US Embassy vehicle.

This was the same time Akapbio had just finished his tenure as Governor of Akwa Ibom State and opened the so called best hospital in Nigeria that cost if I am not wrong 20 Billion naira.

Why didn't he go to the hospital he built?

Na Alex Otti mate be this. Real solid infrastructure. Not only would it serve the medical needs of Ndi Enugu, it'll generate serious revenue for the government.

But Abia otimkpus wants us to believe that Port Harcourt road, expanded and painted roads, few repainted PHCs and less than 5 rehabilitated schools is the best thing a state governor could do and for that, he has performed more than any other person.
There's definitely room for gov. Otti to do more but he has definitely done better than governors before him who looted and completely abandoned abia to rot away only an ignorant person or a hater will not acknowledge his efforts.

10 years from now we can still look back on these hospital project and point to it as something this governor did without any shalaye.

These are the kind of photos and hospital built by Peter Obi when he was governor that we have been asking his supporters to show us that they cannot but just cho cho cho audio "he did something" is what they tell us. When the reality is that doctors and nurses were on strike for 13 months straight (1 year and 1 month) asking for good salary and equipments to work with but peter obi refused to even address them but kept the state money in his bank to yeild interest for the bank. So much that the doctors and nurses had to call off the strike themselves to save dieing patients after 1 year and 1 month which is still a record for the longest doctors and nurses strike in Nigeria or anywhere in the would including in Vietnam, Bangladesh, Egypt and China.

So to cover his woefull record on health he goes about now that he wants to be president desperately donating money to nurses as if that will help those patients who died under his watch or doctors that were exposed to hazard on the job.

Any Peter Obi supporter who is sure of himself should counter my claims with pictures of hospital that peter obi built when he was governor or just hide your face in shame. grin for supporting an olodo former governor who could only build a beer Refinery for his people.
Be shining your teeth up and down while your own governor is busy doing nothing.

All good and nice...

Now the question is what is the maintenance plan?

Has a facility management company been employed? if so what is the deliverable?

It will be an insult to see videos a decade later "exposing" the deplorable state of the hospital , then one governor will come and do renovation!

Nigeria must break that cycle of waste
Re: Governor Mbah Inspects 300-Bed Enugu International Hospital Ahead Of Opening by Zincfingers: 8:24am On Aug 13
Who are these people saying ‘hand it over to a private company to manage’. A governor has spent the people’s money for the good of the people but insufferable Nigeria who probably can’t even afford to pay CT scan are clamoring for pseudo privatization of the same hospital. That’s arrant nonsense. This is an extremely laudable initiative by the Enugu state government and it should be accessible and affordable for the people.

Bro speak with facts

Abia civil servants earns the lowest wage in the entire country.

ABSU lecturers are owed 7 months salary.

Many ASPIMSS staff earns 28k monthly.

Abia farmers has never gotten any incentives or input from the govt even though there are budgetary provisions for agriculture.

Only one out of 56 smart schools whose money has been written off has been delivered.

This and many more are wrongs of the administration.

Factually and in details explain how Otti has been better than his predecessors and I'll point to you state published documents that shows money that has been spent on projects you can't see anywhere in Abia. If that's not looting, maybe we need to change the word looting.

Maintenance is the key.
If he is keen on seeing this hospital stand the test of time, he should hand it over to a private consortium to manage under a PPP scheme.
That way this hospital will not become another dilapidated structure in some years to come.
I keep hearing maintenance, yet no one talks about the cost of maintenance, which can only be achieved by letting the hospital set the fees it wants to set.

You guys want a hospital where services would be cheap. That means that hospitals cannot make enough money, and are reliant on government subventions which reduce as the years go by because more and more hospitals are being built way beyond the capacity of the government finances to keep up with them

The results are modern hospitals becoming scrap in ten years time IN nigeria.

Even the PPP partnership...that means that the hospital would have to raise fees...and you guys would complain about oppression and APC. But the good hospitals are those that can charge a fee that enables them to pay for maintenance, upgrades, and running costs...and even things like training costs...because all teaching hospitals are also teaching centers...even some of the secondary hosptials too.

Ain't no way Nigeria can maintain world class hospitals on a budget of just 8 billion or less dollars per annum.

The saner climes most of you admire, they pay high fees for their hospital services either in the form of tax, by cash, or by health insurance, which deducts money by the ton from your earnings...to pay for the thing.

Whether he'll handover to his cronies or not, he's still the governor and he's showing visible achievement.
Is it Otti that will not handover to his cronies?

But that's not the issue here.

The issue here is that a governor is showing commitment to the development of his state while another person gets all the praises because of heavy investments in propaganda with little or nothing to show for it.

I expected that anyone who will refute this would say something Otti did better in the health sector or any other sector. But the truth is that there's nothing, Abia is not leading the south east in any infrastructure transformation in spite of the huge resources available.

Abia gets more allocation than Enugu. But check the infrastructure difference.

You are right, Enugu have a perennial water scarcity issue.

I think the state govt. must have factored in this issue & resolved it with regards to the new hospital

Make other seaports fully functional, accessible and cheaper

Decentralize Banks and oil companies headquarters in all the Geopolitical zones, make international airports in all region fully operational, dredge river Niger

With this simple step, Lagos will become same with Ogun......have you ever wondered why other southwest states are not matching Lagos?....think deep
You can see how simple presidential decision changed River state operations

But this is an incomplete project. The outside and parking space is not tarrred or paved. People will be carrying mud or dust into the building, depending on the weather.

Just curious .... why International Hospital? .... can anyone explain? I know of General Hospital ... Psychiatric Hospital ... Pediatric Hospital... Eye Hospital ... Animal Hospital ... International Hospital?... I'm hear to learn.

The building is one thing .... quality of staff and equipment is the heart of the hospital. Is no way the hospital can function without a consistent flow of potable water,... if not ... that will be a disease distribution center.
