BREAKING: US CENTCOM Debunks Viral Reports of Deaths and Suicides Aboard USS Abraham Lincoln

The United States Central Command, CENTCOM, has come out to debunk viral reports claiming that 7 Sailors died in a brawl aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier currently deployed in the Middle East.

In a statement released in the last few hours, CENTCOM described the reports as FALSE and said they are a "disservice to our men and women in uniform and their loved ones."

THE FALSE CLAIMS:

Over the past 48 hours, multiple media outlets reported that:
1. Seven Sailors died in a brawl aboard USS Abraham Lincoln, CVN 72
2. There has been a spike in suicidal ideations among crew members

THE FACTS ACCORDING TO CENTCOM:

1. No deaths recorded: No service members aboard the aircraft carrier have died.

2. One incident: The only incident was on Aug. 3 when one Sailor fell overboard but was "quickly and safely recovered."

3. High morale: USS Abraham Lincoln has maintained among the highest crew reenlistment rates of 84.4% of all aircraft carriers in the U.S. Navy.

4. Deployment stats: The Sailors and Marines have been at sea for over 260 days, completed 10,000 aircraft flights, and expended 1.5 million pounds of ordnance.

CENTCOM said the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group "remain resilient and resolved" despite the long deployment.

The aircraft carrier has been one of the key US assets in the Middle East amid rising tensions in the region.
