Question I often ask my Muslim brothers ....... "If music is haram, why is the call to prayer sung?"

The thing is, even if music isn’t necessarily haram but discouraged. Someone who does zikr and Adhkaar a lot and sees results of their prayer usually avoid music fully or partially.

Because music generally interferes with concentration.

To answer your question God told us to recite the Quran rhythmically and slowly. Also the brain absolve music more then bare words.

Lastly demons love music and are drawn to it uncontrollably so the Quran is sung it disturbs them a lot because it’s something they cant take their ears off.

Its a debate!. How do you expect me a layman to stand in a place where islamic scholars sef no fit stand gidigba.

Aunty everything recommended in islam is for your own good. A true muslim jumps at every advise given in islam because they really help. A lot!

So as a music listener and lover and someone who does zikr all the time i had no choice but to reduce my music to 20%. You can say I stand on “Makrooh (discouraged)”.

Behave asin how. Please kindly elaborate. Also a muslim questions everything. Infact muslims loves to debate a lot. Infact in islam you are supposed to question everything. The Quran even encourages you to challenge it in all ramifications including its literary style.

God even challenged the obstinate humans to look at his creation through the eye of a critic and look again and again and their eye will return to then confused and dazed.

Islam is an elite religion, a religion of scholars. Na because of some Alfas wey dey mk our religion look local. A common poor muslim is way more elitist than a wealthy unbeliever in the eyes of God.

You are contradicting yourself. You initially said you follow the teachings of your religious leaders, instead of wearing your thinking cap, why the sudden “U” turn ?

Again, how do Imans make your religion to look local when they are applying what is in the Quran?
If they are teaching what is not in line with Islam, don’t you think that higher Islamic religious leaders like Sultan would have called them out ?
