Cjrane2:I think your assessment of Soludo is rather harsh! He has been able to complete over 95% of projects he embarks on! Maybe even higher..............for me, my pet peeve where Soludo is concerns his inability to establish lasting institutions.......... It's rather annoying that we still do not have an active waste evacuation agency,,,,,,, where are the tax agency........signage agency..........even Ansippa has been buried alive! However, as far as completion of projects, he has done well! |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Cjrane2: 3:28am On Aug 03*. Modified: 4:00am On Aug 03 |
Eboofa:I agree that Soludo has done well on roads development. I thought it was due to the financial burden of the roads that he could not complete the other projects he started in his first term such as the Anambra ICC hotel. What is annoying is that everything is about what is reigning and not what is crucial for the state’s development. For instance Anambra’s airport in Oba was abandoned since 1982. Anambra’s economic and industrial growth was stunted due to lack of airport until Asaba and later Umueri airports were built recently. All of a sudden the reigning thing now is airport, airport, airport! While we still have so many other highly critical areas where we are lagging behind. Part of the reason I supported Soludo was because I hoped he would reason like a well-seasoned professor and not a local trader. How is it possible that a whole professsor of economics would reason that even if Anambra needs 5 airports by 2070, we must build all of them all at once, without first developing our industrial base that would make the economy which requires 5 airports possible? It is simply called the “Theory of Comparative Cost” which Soludo himself must have taught his students. It simply means, use your advantages to develop your economy. Now Anambra sits on vast deposit of natural gas that can easily be used to produce electricity, petrochemical companies, fertilizer companies to boost agricultural production to power that future which would require 5 Airports. When Soludo spoke about stopping Anambra being a “departure lounge” and creating jobs in Anambra to keep its youths from running abroad, I thought he must have figured a good strategy to use the massive gas deposits in the state to support petrochemical companies setting up in Anambra. Globally, countries are plotting how to pipe Nigerian gas to Europe or elsewhere so they can build more power plants, fertilizer plants and petrochemical factories to support their industrialization and economic growth. Anambra sits on a massive gas deposit, does not need to pipe anybody’s gas to Anambra to support industrial growth. But instead of thinking how we can bring in companies to set up in Anambra and use our gas to fuel prosperity, we are fixated on building airports that we neither need nor really even have enough funds to build very good ones that airlines would prefer to use the new airport compared to the currrently existing ones. It is a case of putting the cart before the horse that I didn’t expect a sound mind like Soludo would end up reasoning like the usual dumb politicians in Nigeria and Africa that made Africa the richest continent in resources, yet has the poorest people. |

Governor soludo really tried in developing anambra state, kudos to him |

Cjrane2:I also expected better of Soludo. He lived snd worked overseas. He even lived in Ethiopia which has seen much more rapid development than Nigeria bevause they have a brainy and patriotic leadership. What does Anambra need? Its a no brainer. Valuable jobs. Sitting in front of a 10x10 shop is not sophistication. We boast markets left and right, up and down but how many things we sell do we produce? Soludo knows this. And if he visited the Ethiopia he worked in years ago he would have seen what they did at Hawassa and several other massive industrial layouts built. The Ethiopian government prioritized manufacturing. Hawassa Industrial layout alone employs 100,000 people. The key difference is that the Ethiopians were smart enough to seek Chinese assistance after all who knows manufacturing more than the Chinese? The Chinese government helped them design and build 12 industrial layouts. But in Anambra? We have ITK in Anambra govt none of whom have built industrial layouts in their life now busy designing an "aerotropolis" without feasibility study, environmental assessment or open competitive tendering. They look at Google map draw distance arrows and say airport should be built because its necessary. Meanwhile all those industrial layouts in Ethiopia none were built with airports. Soludo should take a lesson from Obi who while calling himself a mere trader, focused on priorities. He secured the airport land but prioritized key roads in the state and refurbishing Harbor Industrial Layout. Soludo made fun of Intafact (Hero beer) but he should show which private company he has attracted on that scale to Anambra to date. The measure of a man's greatness is not his mouth but his actions. What will he be remembered for? Light House Anambra while Jerome Udoji Secretariat where the mass of workers are has no light and is poorly maintained? A six lane road with palm trees to new government house while the road to the House of Assembly and High Court behind Ekwueme Square is riddled with potholes? A stadium he spent billions to construct an imposing entry gate and interlock paving while the artificial turf football pitch built by Monimichelle with FIFA grant is falling apart? Or is it Amaku where they built a trauma center in a complex that has no centrao water reticulation system, steady power or sophisticated life saving equipment? I hope Soludo will separate himself from the well known tendency of Nigeria to produce useless leaders that play to the gallery and step up his game. |

Hahahaha This man go just kpai himself upon Anambra and Soludo matter. Like as I stated earlier there’s more to your crying here. This airport has exposed who you are really. Yes, Soludo will complete the airport to your own shame. Get ready to change your moniker when it happens. Go on Facebook and see updates on Anambra Aerotropolis airport ongoing. You wish it’s not ongoing. You are talking about Enugu ICC, please how many decades did it take them to build the ICC? How many years has the ICC hotel been ongoing? You are so jobless that you sleep on this thread and on Facebook breaking your head on Anambra issues even when you’re not from Anambra. Go and question your Delta state that has looted your state with almost nothing to show for you it. Where’s your former gov Okowa, he stole over one Trillion and ran to APC for cover, why are you not worried about your own state, jobless fellow? lol All the projects Soludo said he will do, have been done or are ongoing. You have jumped from comparing Soludo to Mbah to Otti, to unfortunately for you, Soludo is far better than them all. I am waiting for you to compare Soludo with Sherriff too. You came late to the party, the airport has long gone on and under construction. Expect pictures here soon. I will personally, use the pictures to humiliate you here. Wait for it. Haha Cjrane2: |

Cry but the Anambra second airport is on course. My happiness is that the site for the third airport is being sourced. Anytime someone is crying more than the bereavedd then know that something is amiss. Oga you cannot love Anambra more than Anambra people. Anambra is doing great as the most developed Igbo state. Anambra international Aerotropolis is ongoing and there’s nothing you can do about it. Delta state seat on massive oil and gas, what has your governor done to fix things up? Please what’s the poverty rate between Anambra and Delta state? Please google it and tell us the answer lol What has Delta state done with the huge federal allocation and massive debt already incurred? There’s nothing in Delta state. Joblessness is so much in Delta than Anambra state. Your state and federal roads are dilapidated. What’s your state doing about it? Look at the situation in Asaba, a capital city of an oil rich state? Have you gone to Uyo and see what they have done? Can you honestly compete Akwaibom and Delta state in terms of overall development in infrastructure? This is the question you should be asking your leaders in your state. Soludo is transforming Anambra. From Awka to Onitsha, Nnewi, Ekwuluobia and indeed Anambra in general. Today, Anambra has the highest number of dual carriageways in the eastern Nigeria courtesy of Soludo. My happiness is that we are building what’s good for us in Anambra. Your envy and bitterness cannot change the reality. Anambra second airport is a done deal and we Anambrans are happy . Cjrane2: |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by FOXDOSSIER: 6:22pm On Aug 03 |
Hahahaha For the first time the one that was against Anambra having an airport at all is not in collabo with the one that’s scared, threatened and jittery that Anambra is going to have a second airport. This is the best time to be on this thread lol Unfortunately for you, your own case is beyond redemption but I am here to make sure that the propaganda of you guys here doesn’t go unchecked. We can never allow you guys take control of this thread to misinform people. COOUTH is the best in SE. State secretariats is in great condition. Awka city stadium has been incorporated into Solution fun city and we have seen improvements done by Soludo there. Overall Anambra is doing far better than all the states in the southeast and all these are happening without noise nor media propaganda. Oga, you came late to the show, Anambra international Aerotropolis already ongoing and there’s nothing you can do about it. You couldn’t stop the first one by your confusion here and you cannot stop the second one. Anambra shall continue to lead as the most developed Igbo state. abuzz33: |

Cjrane2:Your postulation is unimpeachable, but the gas being piped to Lagos, Ghana, and maybe to Morocco is associated gas..........byproducts of oil exploitation and production! Our vast gas deposits are largely stranded ..........to bring it online will take at least 10 years of heavy investment with a serious risk of failure, due to lower than expected production! Oil and gas investment has a high rate of failure o....especially when handled by marginal local players like Orient oil! I support the airport or aerotopolis and mixed-use project, but I do not see a talented team to push the project! Unfortunately, Ansippa is floundering ............as much as I support the second airport......fear don dey catch me! A signature project like this is as strong as its promoters! |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by OreMI22: 11:27am On Aug 07 |
Cjrane2:Does anyone know why the Anambra ICC hotel was abandoned? I just googled the Enugu ICC hotel and you can clearly tell that their governor truly has a sound vision for taking the state to its glorious future. With that hotel and Hotel Presidential, Landmark Nike Lake hotel , and scaling their Enugu Air airlines to ply international routes, you can clearly see how Enugu is becoming a world class hospitality hub. |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by maiunguwar: 1:04pm On Aug 08 |
OreMI22:The Anambra ICC and many other capital intensive projects will be sacrificed for the second airport. The total Anambra budget for the fiscal year is around #750B. The body language of the prof.governor is pointing towards the second airport as his priority project,he doesn't have much time and the resources for other projects. |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by OreMI22: 6:02pm On Aug 08 |
maiunguwar:Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! I sincerely hope this information is incorrect. How could another major project, with the potential to firmly position Anambra on the international tourism map, be shelved in favour of a less consequential audio airport project? Despite the criticisms levelled against former Governor Willie Obiano, one must acknowledge that he completed several projects outside his hometown that he did not initiate, including the Agulu Hotel and the Onitsha Mall. He also completed several landmark projects started by his administration, including the Awka flyovers, the stadium, the International Convention Centre (ICC), and the airport. Although his administration was widely criticised for its poor interventions in the road sector, it nevertheless succeeded in installing streetlights along major roads across Anambra State. The principle is simple: to whom much is given, much is expected. I sincerely hope Governor Soludo will rise to the occasion. With the significant improvement in FAAC allocations and the additional 13 percent derivation revenue from oil, it should be possible for his administration to pursue the airport project while simultaneously completing other critical legacy projects, as his counterparts in Enugu and Abia have done. At the moment, however, Anambra risks resembling the kind of administration associated with Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's tenure, one that appeared reluctant to complete major projects inherited from its predecessor while leaving relatively few distinctive legacy projects of its own, apart from road expansion and related infrastructure. Governor Soludo has an opportunity to avoid that trajectory. His administration should, strive to balance the pursuit of new flagship projects with the completion and consolidation of strategically important projects already underway. That would not only ensure continuity in governance but also strengthen Anambra's position as a competitive destination for investment, tourism, and international business.

Y OreMI22:What's the value of a hotel next to a Conference Center that doesnt host up to 5 large events a year? The Anambra government should focus on priorities and not projects for show. The focus should be public BUS transport, education and power. TRANSPORT This government should be ashamed people are still squeezing into keke in the name of transport. Buy EV large buses and run routes at least in Awka and inter state such as Ekwulobia- Amawbia to Onitsha, Awka - Nnewi - Onitsha and Awka to Onitsha. EDUCATION Half of the population of the state are under 18. Its not just about hiring teachers but providing the RIGHT education. Anambra schools need recreational sports facilities and vocational skills training. POWER I have said that we go nowhere with expanding power. It needs a comprehensive intervention to quadruple the amount of electricity generated. |

How long did it took Enugu state to complete Enugu ICC? It was over twenty years, but in all those periods, none of you questioned why it wasn’t completed but the one in Awka which is bigger and more elegant was built within three years. If the aeroplane that Mbah procured that nearly caused carnage was bought by Soludo, you guys would still be on it by now. Why is not one talking about how Mbah is a failure and almost all his projects are crashing? Landmark only changed signboards and all of a sudden, they have transformed Nike resort that looks like a poultry farm. Can you guys compare that pig farm with Agulu lake resort? What’s worldclass in Enugu that has too much ghettos, poverty and has perennial water scarcity. This issue would have been used to drag Soludo if it is the case in Anambra. But to you guys Enugu is going to become world class when the residents don’t even know when the next drinking water will come from. Poverty is too much in Enugu state as well as high unemployment. But no one is concerned, but any project Soludo is yet to start or complete constantly used to make noise here by you people. OreMI22: |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by FOXDOSSIER: 7:27pm On Aug 09 |
Awka ICC hotel is still there and major contractor will soon be announced as the piling has been completed. The second Anambra airport doesn’t stop other major projects including the transformation of main market, ICC hotel, etc. His body language? Did he tell you that? It is high time I start sharing some of these unsubstantiated comments to the appropriate authorities within the government so that the person will be brought to come explain. maiunguwar: |

Suddenly you have believed a random fellow wandering around nairaland than hearing from the government. The hypocrisy of you guys here is becoming too much and one thing I must take upon myself is to see that one person is used here as an example. You are now comparing Soludo that has even outperformed the hype called Mbah to Ugwuanyi. This was the same Ugwuanyi that I never saw anyone of you talk about despite his incompetence and failure in office. Now switch Ugwuanyi as an Anambra governor, all of will have a different narrative. Hypocrites. Soludo has delivered and keep on delivering on great ptojects that no other governor has been able to achieve. If it was another SE governor that built brand new three arm zone, Emeka Anyaoku boulevard, major road dualisation across the state, fun city,Ekwuluobia transformation, not to ven talk of ongoing university of medicine, aerotropolis, industrial city, pharmaceutical new site in Oba, etc, you people would have been hyping the person all over the place. Infact the amount of dual carriageways already done by Soludo has placed Anambra as the southeast state with the most dual carriageways. \ OreMI22: |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLJ9RkqtBLc I am beginning to doubt this Patrick Mba miracle in Enugu........Soludo has been more frugal, and it seems that Anambra State has a far more developed maintenance culture......abeg, Soludo is trying too! 5 years down the line, Chinua Achebe Airport and even the Ekwulobia Park and Market are still in remarkably good condition! Anambra rocks! |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by abuzz33: 1:18am On Aug 15 |
Eboofa:You are comparing apples with Oranges. What I see in that video is common sense sabotaged by poor management. But the essence is this. Enugu understood that the bus transport system moves hundreds of thousands of people a day and decided to organize and modernize it. Now show me a single large central bus terminal Anambra has built. We havent even started. Our solution is primitive parks for keke and aerotropolis. God who did this to us? Enugu has a nice bus terminal run badly but contrast with the one run by Governor Otti of Abia. That man does three things right. He knows how to prioritize, how to build and who to appoint to operate it. This is the difference in approach between a lecturer like Soludo, a primitive businessman like Mbah and a corporate CEO. |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Eboofa: 1:07am On Aug 16 |
abuzz33:I submit you are totally wrong! Where are you going to build a large modern bus terminal like the one in Enugu in a congested town like Onitsha or even nnewi! I await an honest answer from you! I lived in Nnewi and worked in Onitsha in the heady days of the GSM base station build-out........... I know these areas rather well ! I know the seemingly arrogant and headstrong posture of the average Igbo trader based in these towns! I feel for Soludo honestly........Now I know why he reserved his heavy hammer till his second term! To make omelette you need to break eggs! If you are current with the news, you should know there has been a heavy reign of demolitions in Onitsha .......in fact, the demolition in Nnewi is even more widespread! We need to restore Nnewi's setback for the much-requested walkways. A dumpsite is currently being cleared for a modern bus terminal in Nnewi... let us cut Soludo some slack, bikonu! Our people make governance a bit difficult sometimes! |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Eboofa: 1:27am On Aug 16 |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERJsMWLaFLQ&t=283s The summary of this video proves that Soludo is right! You need to plan for years to achieve your development goals. A second airport in Anambra is a near-must if the opportunity is not to close in a few years! So far, the River Niger is not dredged, and a rail line to Lagos is not built... we are effectively landlocked from the global economy! We need to think more strategically in Anambra and avoid being unnecessarily emotive. If a tiny Uli airfield could keep a landlocked and besieged Biafra in the battle for 2 years .........who says an Aerotropolis will not be a game changer for Anambra's economy................... China is being besieged by a floundering US empire..........the Western powers want to control and constrain the Chinese export sea lanes.........China is searching for outlets to release this pressure...................if we can position the aerotropolis well, we can attract the Chinese to use that second airport in Ndikelionwu as a distribution hub for Eastern Nigeria and as far East as Congo! However, we have to build out the infrastructure first.......Indiana lives by that dictum: ' build it, and they will come'! We have to think out of the box and take risks or else our adversaries in western Nigeria will overwhelm us completely! I live in Indianapolis and I am a witness to how effective planning can transform an economy in less than half a generation! |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by abuzz33: 10:50am On Aug 16 |
What's the GDP of Indianapolis? Let me answer for you. $199 billion or 20x that of Anambra state. Indiana city budget is $1.9 billion. Anambras entire state revenue is less than $200m. Anambra is where a lot of US states were 100 years ago and if you want to see what it looked like then see: https://www.indystar.com/story/news/history/retroindy/2018/07/18/nostalgic-look-indianapolis-through-decades/795254002/ Sometimes we need to use common sense in projects. You dont even have central bus terminal like many European countries and airport is your priority. When oyibo say Africans no get sense I am starting to believe it. Eboofa: |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by abuzz33: 10:54am On Aug 16 |
A bus terminal doesnt have to be in the downtown. There is lots of land at the outskirts of Nnewi, Awka and Onitsha. Even if there isn't nothing stops the state government from relocating markets out of the center and replacing ig with central bus parks. Relocate Nkeo Nnewi, the drugs market in Onitsha and Eke Awka. Eboofa: |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Abufo: 12:50pm On Aug 16 |
abuzz33:Geronimo! Thats exactly what Soludo id doing right now! SOLUDO is moving ogbo ogwu to Oba.........the current location of ogbo ogwu is less than 3 miles from headbridge and is not too far from upper iweka ........where you have a multiplicity of motor parks...............The proposed Nnewi bus park is uphill from traffic light junction.......its at the periphery of Nnewi downtown but still central enough as far as location is concerned! SOLUDO is trying bro! . UI |

| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by FOXDOSSIER: 1:45pm On Aug 16 |
I am very certain that you won’t give this same feedback if this was in Anambra. I have said it here that the driving motive of most of you people here is envy and bitterness towards Anambra, nothing more. Look at the trash you typed just to justify a failure. If it was Soludo that acquired an aircraft that crashed landed, you people would still be on it by now. If it was Soludo that built smart schools that collapsed, you people would still be on it by now. Soludo is the southeast best and prioritized his projects, that’s why he’s been dualising major roads in Anambra to ease movement once he introduce bus transits and bus terminals. Meanwhile look at the Enugu bus terminal. You people will defend taya. abuzz33:

| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by FOXDOSSIER: 1:49pm On Aug 16 |
You are correct about what Soludo is doing in overall transformation of Anambra. Take note that Onitsha and Nnewi are not congested, the lands for the projects are already there, it is just to clear it which the government has already started from Nnewi and will soon arrive in Onitsha. Once again, I thank you for the video of Enugu bus terminal you showed here. Let them continue with the media propaganda, it will never develop their state. Eboofa: |
