The university had already investigated and didn't find evidence of plagiarism....it was the whole media barrage that caused this. And you trust that the issue of race will always be brought up. I feel so sad.......its bo small feat to be a professor in Cambridge at 41 years for that matter....God rest his soul.

The thing is, when doing a pHD, you are supposed to contribute original research. It is not like doing masters, and running away, na original research (I once wanted to do phd, but I ran away because I had no original idea at all at all).

Guy copied other people's work and passed it off as his own. And the painful thing is that he copied work that is available online, which is how the racist that exposed him caught him, he just passed the guys thesis through an online antiplagarism checker. Caught.

In other words his phd was not original work. That was the problem

Indeed supervised graduates trying to obtain their PhD have accused their professors of stealing their work.

Without condemning or supporting this guy, Black academia have always been sorted out for attacks that would not fly against white professors. Even Harvard Black professors have been scrutinized by racists wondering how they make any accomplishments.

Put any professor or research on microscope, you will see the work of others. This is why one must credit previous research as often as you can. The problem is how often because many times, like language, they tend to imitate one another.

Black people too jump on their own to quickly wondering how you succeed in a white world while they fail!

An accused person is innocent until proven guilty. I see nothing wrong with the allegations levelled against him, but we must remind ourselves that he has not been convicted of any offence or misconduct by either the University or any constituted authority.

He was portrayed by the British media as someone who has committed a crime that should be investigated by the ICC. This is because of his race. When Megan and Harry decided to leave the royal family, the media blamed Megan, and spared Harry.

If you read the comments of the average white person online currently on this matter, you would know that it is purely based on racism.

It is much deeper. His scandal has started destroying a lot of careers. Even the obscure university that awarded him his PhD is in the eye of the storm too.

He lived on the fast lane and really would have ended up in jail or probably some day assasinated by those involved in the cover ups.

I started following this story, 2 or 3 weeks before he resigned and I must say nothing shocked me, except his eventual suicide ( as I thought he would be a bit stronger).

I mean I watched interviews of the guy, read a bit of his bio, and me that I don't have a PhD, I knew instantly he wasn't genuine nor as intelligent as he was being made out to be (note I am not using "pretended" here for a reason).

Most of the professors and people who sang his praises and assessed him, have far more life experience than me....are they really claiming they didn't know their were holes in his story and he wasn't as "terrific" as they were painting him out to be?

Let me be clear on what I am saying....people like to be lied too and told fairytales , especially when they feel like they are part of the ridiculous fantasy, and in this case, they loved the fantasy of the blackman that beats all odds.

We were told this guy could not speak till he was eleven. Was illiterate till 18. Had all sorts of psychological, learning and behavioural disorders. Was a champion athlete. All this he did and achieved before 40, and thus became one of the youngest top black professors in the world in an obscure field.

A man who looked like a woman every time I saw him. In fact the first time I saw him I dug to confirm if he was transgender, only to be shocked now to find out that he was a father....it was this man that achieved all these things... while those black Africans from stable homes, who know their gender, whose parents were academics, who looked the dull part, spoke the dull part, acted the dull part, had boring/common traditional stories, were never good enough to achieve all the things he achieved so fast abi!

The man was "created" by white people who wanted to "fetish" on us, that's why he ticked every single "fetish box" of the left in particular.

Now he has wasted his life for an allegation that is as old and pointless as time. To make it clear, I don't think he is more guilty of plagiarism than anyone of his generation, than any other average white/black academic is currently. He is no more of a fraud than most of them.

He is the fall guy for a confused world. Where people don't like the truth and want to imagine fairytales. Where everybody wants to live 50 different lives in one short story!

Imagine, it is a guy that overcame every single obstacle I mentioned above that now offs himself because of plagiarism abi!!

You got it. If you see how these so-called people use Chat Gpt...hmmm. I never knew anything called Chat Gpt, even after completing a very tough postgraduate course in my father's land, not until I saw it being used with my "korokoro" eyes. He should have been very careful in their midst.

Tiamiyu, the sheepish guy who exposed some immigration smart plays by UK immigrants didn't have it easy when his own foul play was exposed. He got deported. I can still remember how people cursed him in 2023 for being a snitch. As a person of colour, one has to be very careful when doing things with "them".
