The Osun Governorship election holds today, August 15 2026, and voting is expected to take place in the 30 Local Government Areas of the state.

Out of the total of 2,339,233 registered voters in the State, 1,906,390 PVCs, representing 81.50 per cent, have been collected.

15 Candidates will seek to occupy the Bola Ige House in Abeere for the next four years but the voters will only entrust one with their votes. There are however three frontrunners: The incumbent, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, Najeem Salam of the ADC and Bola Oyebamiji of the APC.

All top three candidates hail from the Osun West Senatorial Zone

During the Anambra governorship election, APC got over 150,000 votes. The opposition said people voted for their own people not the party, reason APC got that high figure, Agreed.
Now, is the ADC candidate in Osun a Ghanaian? If his own people cannot vote for him and his party, is Atiku the one they will turn to as a bride? The truth is that ADC has no structure in the South.

No it will not be so. ADC members are voting for Imole. I heard there was a pact yesterday night between ADC members and Accord especially in Osun central that ADC should vote for Adeleke. Alot of things could play out after this election. Should Adeleke win or lose, something is bound to change. People are of the opinion that Adeleke might withdraw his support for Tinubu but if he does that, it would be at Oriyomi’s instance remember he also promises to support Tinubu, we are all watching Adeleke’s stance after this election. Tinubu may want to support APC fully in Oyo guber should Adeleke withdraws his support.

What'd you now say about Tinubu losing his ancestral state to an almost non existent party? Don't tell me Tinubu had an accord with Adeleke or that Adeleke is endorsing Tinubu. After all, he didn't campaign with Tinubus picture.

How come the demented Peter Obi couldn't influence any votes to go the way of NDC in this election? We all saw how Tinubu influenced APC in the last Anambra election to finish second and even win Obi's polling unit.

Thus far, Adeleke is leading in Ede, Egbedore, ejigbo thus far. Ambo is leading in Osogbo, Olorunda, Oriade/Obokun, Ife central, east and south. Let's keep our fingers crossed

INEC concluded the candidates participating in osun and ekiti state elections before November 2025.
Court compelled INEC to register NDC in November 2025.
So how will NDC be able to field candidates when INEC have concluded that exercise before November 2025?
