I see some clueless people or those who are seeking consolation by all means celebrating the losing of APC as a lost for Tinubu. This is actually a win for him. Its in the interest of Tinubu for Adeleke to win. Adeleke sought to join APC but the selfish APC politicians in Osun blocked that. Tinubu was not happy but decided to stay neutral.
You are totally wrong my brother. This is not a win win for Tinubu. The APC National Chairman and all those Governors, National APC Members and others that came to OSOGBO to support the President never came for win win situation.

I got your point. The same thing happened under AREGBESOLA after the death of Isiaka Adeleke. Tinubu always support those he chose to help to the end. AREGBESOLA never delivered. Oyetola never delivered.

The implications of this election is very disastrous and it is very obvious when I visited OSOGBO in March, April, May and early June spending few days each time.

The propaganda and blackmail and hatred against Tinubu on local Radio Stations was very high and the broadcast made in Yoruba language. Just because of ADELEKE. I have never heard that type of very acidic propaganda, blackmail and hatred against an individual in my life and now in Yoruba language on local Radio Stations. You are now saying it is win win for Tinubu. What about the blackmail and hatred already planted in the minds of the Rural populace?

ADELEKE congratulations. Congratulations. Congratulations. Congratulations. Congratulations. Congratulations. If anything contrary happens, it is rigging. Congratulations.

@press9jatv, how far now? Adeleke is a goner? Bro, you know nothing about osun state politics, but I observed you're just pained because of your support for him in the 2022 elections. Power belongs to God and the people, and larger percentage of the people are no longer ignorant. Swallow your pride and congratulations the Governor. I wish you well in your future endeavours. I did my youth service in Osun state almost 10 years ago when Aregbesola (APC) was still governor, and I can tell you for free that Osun state people ' hate ' APC. The people were so scarred by Aregbesola's time in office that if you ever hear that APC win anything in that state like governorship or stuff like that, that means the rest of the opposition were totally useless. I believe even Tinubu lost the presidential election result to Atiku in that state the last time. For Osun state people it feels like their default thinking is a bit like anybody but APC.

At the time, the kinds of views you would hear in the south east and south south about APC were the kinds of views you would hear in the Osun village I served. Even though I don't follow happenings in Osun anymore, when people started to say Adeleke would lose, I knew it was very unlikely. For Adeleke to lose to an APC candidate in Osun as the sitting governor, he would have to be completely useless. No way Osun people will willfully surrender themselves to the APC if there is credible opposition structures present in the state. Aregbesola so ruined APC's pr in his lamentable time in office that for the APC to flip that state back would require something of a minor miracle. In fact I strongly believe the only reason the APC is pulling the numbers they have now is because they are the ruling party (free money) and the leadership core of the party is Yoruba, if not.

Anyways, congratulations in advance to Adeleke, the dancing governor, hopefully he does far more than dance in this second tenure.

You're indeed familiar with the state affairs. Only few people realized Aregbe wicked style of governance made it difficult for Oyetola to secure victory easily in 2018 and Oyetola himself further damaged party reputation by his policies instead of redeeming the party image. The politics of suffering people especially civil servants in a state where they're the biggest formal workforce in the name of building infrastructure where money will be available to steal is not acceptable to Osun people. Aregbe was only lucky to serve two terms because even Akande of AD only ruled 4yrs.

If you're a sitting governor for 4 years and you can't win your re-election.. 2 things are involved...
1. The people so much hate you
2. you can't play politics

This is the blunt truth. Despite Adeleke previously endorsing Tinubu, APC still went all out against him and would have rigged him out if not for the massive turnout and collective resolve by the people of Osun. How can anyone now attempt to spin it that Tinubu supported Adeleke in this election? Not to even talk about the needless loss of lives, arbitrary arrests, intimidation and outrageous vote buying. The repercussions of this election will be monumental not only in Osun state but across the country heading into 2027. So many lessons were picked up by Nigerians on how to defeat the APC.

Imagine only 0.6% of the entire population of a state participating in a gubernatorial election, and we're calling the outcome truly representative and free and fair. How can such a tiny fraction of the state's population effectively determine who governs everyone?
Elections should reflect the will of the people, not just the votes of a very small percentage of the population. Honestly, we are not there yet.
.

What stopped most people from voting? Did they have their PVCs and simply refuse to vote, or did they not even have PVCs in the first place?

Whatever the reason, we cannot continue making excuses for our own political apathy. This is not just a failure of government; it is also a failure of responsibility on the part of the people.

The average Nigerian should understand that change does not come from complaining alone. We must be willing to stand up, reject intimidation, overcome fear, and use the little power we have—the power of our votes—to demand better leadership.

We cannot keep waiting for someone else to fix the system. We are the system. We are the voters. We are the change.

Developed societies did not become developed because their governments were perfect. Their people demanded accountability, participated in governance, and refused to surrender their future to fear or complacency.

Nigeria can change, but it starts with us. Get your PVC. Show up. Vote. Speak up. Hold leaders accountable. Our future is too important to leave in the hands of others.
