With The Way Osun State Election Has Come And Gone, Incumbency Is Still A Factor by Judgementa1(op): 7:15am On Aug 16
Incumbency has played a major role in the state election witness for far in the country.

Ekiti. Anambra, ondo and now osun state all voted and return their current sitting governor.

The same factor will definitely play out in the presidential election.

Congratulations gov adeleke.

You are right. Adeleke won with a bloodied face. Over 400k voters in the election didn't think he was fit for that office.

Osun people voted their choice because they love Adeleke as a performing governor. Only thugs imported from Edo where fighting against returning Adeleke because they were paid thugs and bandits.

Finally, Adeleke has won. Case closed.

Incumbency indeed. I thought federal might was what would be relied upon as said by Sanwo-olu's aid before the election? How would that help Tinubu in 2027? Ebonyi, Imo, Cross Rivers, Sokoto, Kebbi, Yobe, Kaduna, Lagos, etc all had incumbent APC governors but Tinubu couldn't win the state. Okowa was an incumbent governor and a Vice presidential candidate in the PDP but he couldn't deliver his state in the presidential elections. Tinubu is highly unpopular, even in the Southwest. Better wake up and smell the coffee. People are being beaten for campaigning for him in the rural parts of the Southwest. An account by a nairalander some months ago.

When APC won election in ondo and ekiti state, and also FCT municipal ,you told us it state election that it's had nothing to do with presidential.

So Accord winning has something to do with 2027 presidential election.

Say another thing.

I will like to see you make a video of youself campaigning for Tinubu in Osogbo and share with us. Friendly advise; wear a helmet. Osun is not Ekiti. It is the headquarters of the Omoluabis. Ekiti was the first state to send in their results for Ekiti but Tinubu lost Osun.

State and federal election are two different ball game.

Accord winning in osun state does not translate to an Atiku or obi victory.

Incumbency is still a major factor in Nigeria politics.

You did not answer any of the questions in the comment you quoted. Why did Tinubu fail to win Lagos despite being the incumbent?

Ok, Omoluabi will vote a Fulani candidate whose people are ravaging their town daily with banditry and herdsmen.

U must be a comedian. grin

While I believe Adeleke won, I think his foot soldiers helped him to inflate his numbers in his strongholds like Ede.

I honestly find it hard to believe that 1 million people voted in Osun state governorship election. That figure almost rival the ones you get from Lagos, Kaduna and Kano. Nobody cares as long as APC lost.

Anyway, BAT needs to mend fences with him and even facilitate his defection to APC. With the figure I am seeing today, Osun needs to be added to the Lagos and the KKK states. grin

President Tinubu not winning Lagos indicate the 2023 election was free and fair to all.

And mind u he lost with less than 12k votes.

Tinubu was Yoruba in 2023 when the people of Osun voted Atiku against him. If bandits and herdsmen are now ravaging the Southwest daily, it happened under Tinubu's watch as president and Commander-in-Chief. Another reason for them not to vote for him.

Exactly. Are now inferring that 2027 will not be free and fair under Tinubu? What has changed between 2023 and now that will make the people vote for Tinubu against whom they previously voted for?

I will rather vote an obi, if I'm left with no other option than vote any Fulani candidate.

Then vote Obi. It was the Fulani votes that made Tinubu president. He only won 4 Yoruba states out of 17 Southern states. 5.6m Hausa-Fulanis made him president after Obi floored him across the entire South. Why else did you think he repeated the muslim-muslim ticket and has commissioned Sheikh Yahaya Jingir and his likes to promote it?

Reason for the incumbency factor.

And if we are to go by the last presidential result, president Tinubu will still be victorious.

You can take that anywhere.

Yoruba and Tinubu also made buhari president after his past three failed attempts.

What part of my comment is a lie? Did Atiku not win Osun in 2023? Was he not a Fulaniman when he did so? If the Southwest are now "wise" and will no longer vote a Fulani, the 5.6m Hausa-Fulanis that voted Tinubu will also show Tinubu and his supporters that Atiku is not an orphan. Nobody has the monopoly of "wisdom".

For those of you jubilating, don't come and say XYZ against INEC tomorrow oo.

Whenever APC loses election, the election is considered free and fair

When the reverse happens, it's rigged

I don't know why we have normalised this nonsense.

Personally, I'm indifferent to who wins election in Nigeria (as long as it's not the Agulu fraudster) because I've seen enough to make me know that we can never properly govern ourselves.

The Agulu fraudster is just so annoying cos he lies with reckless abandon and portrays himself as Messiah.

My previous comment is not specifically tied to this thread. I see your comments all over NL on various threads. There is a lack of logical consistency in many cases. At times, you make contradictory arguments depending on whatever the argument is. The only consistent thing in all your posts is your strong opposition to BAT. Everything else lack consistency, principles, or even morality.
