Are All Sins Really The Same? by ebubeson(op):
If a person commits murder and another keeps malice, are their sins equal?

On earth, all sins do not bring the same consequences, but in eternity all sins take a person to hell fire.

On earth, an armed robber may suffer severe physical punishment while someone lusting may have no physical punishment, but in eternity, both the the armed robber and the one lusting will go to hell fire.

Repent and accept Jesus to escape hell fire.
Re: Are All Sins Really The Same? by paxonel(m):
Certainly, they will go to hell fire since you did not mention the place of Jesus Christ in this equation.

But where there is Christ, there is nothing like hell fire.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

NO THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.
YOU THIEF YOU RETURN THE LOOT WITH APOLOGY YOU ARE FORGIVEN.
YOU KILL YOU CAN'T RETURN LIFE SO SINS ARE VARIED AND DIFFERENT ONE FROM ANOTHER.
SO HELP US GOD.
SEXUAL SINS ALREADY HAVE REPERCUSSIONS BUILT IN THEM BUT WHEN YOU GENUINELY REPENT AND ASK FOR FORGIVENESS YOU WILL BE HEALED.
SINS AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT SHALL NOT BE FORGIVEN.

Apostle John said there is a sin that leads to death, and there is a sin that doesn't lead to death. This definitely shows that all sins are not the same.

If malice leads to one of the malicor commiting self murder, then it will be same as murder.

Secondly, is 10,000kg of feathers different from 10,000kg iron? No.

So the 2 thieves that was hanged with Jesus on the tree never killed? All sins are same and are forgiveable, BUT some still have lil repercussions which will still fade away overtime.
Since against HolySpirit is not forgiveable because it is committed with full consciousness of God. E.g. many fake prophets that will use THE LORD SAY to fraud people.

Sort of. Or maybe not. A sin is anything that offends against what is written in a holy book as the revealed word of God. This is irrespective of whether the act is objectively bad or not.
Re: Are All Sins Really The Same? by dgitrader(m): 8:41am On Aug 16
There are two sins to me.

The one forgiven

And the one not yet forgiven.

Don't get it twisted

No matter the weight of the sin, once forgiven and the person saved, it's gone.

The one Unforgiven, upon death, leads to judgement, no matter how light you thing of it. And that is up to the almighty
Re: Are All Sins Really The Same? by Auditt: 8:42am On Aug 16
All sins are not the same. To steal a pencil can't be compared to a murder. Even in court, the judgement for a pencil is different from a murder.

Not all wrongdoings are sins

Some sins don't lead to death

It's in the Bible

If I slap you even intentionally when you vex me and i later apologised it's not the same thing as abortion or murder...

I thought about it last night.....

Jesus said if a man looks at a woman with sexual intent, he's already committed adultery.

If that's true, and I believe it is, then so many are on their way to hell 🔥 because there is so much lust on the Internet.

God have mercy.

RID YOURSELF OF COLONIAL BRAINWASHING NONSENSE.

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE ''HELLFIRE''.

YOU ARE AN ADULT MADE BY COLONIALISTS TO THINK LIKE A 3 YEAR OLD.

THESE CRAP BELIEFS ONLY CAME TO NIGERIA LESS THAN 100 YEARS AGO.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR OWN PEOPLE BELIEVED ABOUT RIGHT AND WRONG FOR THE PAST 10,000 YEARS PRIOR TO BRITISH INVASION?

WHY IS THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND BELIEF SYSTEM THROWN IN THE DUSTBIN?

WHY IS THE BELIEF OF SOME GREEDY, GENOCIDAL, THIEVING, RACIST COLONIAL INVADERS WITH BOMBS AND GUNS FROM EUROPE A MERE 100 YEARS AGO SUPERIOR TO WHAT YOUR OWN PEOPLE BELIEVED FOR THE PAST 10,000 YEARS?

IF HELLFIRE EXISTS, WHY DID YOUR PEOPLE NOT KNOW ABOUT IT?

WHY DID IT TAKE THIEVING COLONIAL INVADERS A MERE CENTURY AGO FOR SUCH ALL-IMPORTANT SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE FROM GOD TO REACH YOU?

WHY WOULD GOD HAVE HIDDEN SUCH VITAL INFORMATION ON THE ''CONSEQUENCES OF SIN'' FOR 10,000 YEARS, AND OF THE EXISTENCE OF ''JESUS'', HIS ''ONLY SON WHO CAME TO EARTH 2,000 YEARS AGO'', ONLY TO REVEAL IT A MERE 100 YEARS AGO WHEN BRITAIN DECIDED TO LOOT YOUR RESOURCES TO ENRICH THEMSELVES?

THAT WAS WHEN GOD DECIDED TO TEACH YOUR PEOPLE ABOUT ''JESUS'' AND ''HELLFIRE''.

REALLY?

REALLY?

REALLY??

Make una dey use una sense, okay?

NONSENSE!!

Accept God if not you'll explain tired before him on the day of accountability.

I really can't understand why people are afraid to think for themselves.

The religions we practice today rose primarily because of the bronze age collapse. I'd wager that many of the fabricators of these religious stories, like the story of the Noah's Flood, will be shocked that people still believe them to be factual with all of today's advances in knowledge and science.

To be clear, I believe that there's a Creator, a Master, a Controller... A God. But certainly not this hellfire tales people bandy around.

The purpose of religion was primarily for social cohesion and organization, not this obsession with hellfire, rapture and women's
bodies.

Murder is evil and punishable under every single law in the world
Malice is immoral and has no punishment, except fictitious punishments from religious gods.

So from these two, you can judge which of them is weightier.
Re: Are All Sins Really The Same? by Lexicon123: 9:09am On Aug 16
Based on human logic and very importantly the word of God, all sins do not seem to be same. Psalm 130:3 says “If you oh Lord should mark out guilt, who will survive?”. This is an indication that there’s practically no one without some iota of guilt, hence it’s only by God’s mercy that man can make it to heaven. I believe God’s mercy in this case will be driven by the gravity of the sins, otherwise who can be saved (since nothing unclean can see God - Rev 21:27). There are many other scriptures that support the gravitation of sins:

John 19:11: Jesus tells Pontius Pilate, "The one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin," explicitly acknowledging a distinction in moral gravity between individuals.

Luke 12:47–48: In the parable of the faithful and unfaithful servant, Jesus notes that the servant who knew his master's will and did not prepare will receive a severe beating, while the one who did not know will receive a light beating, showing a gradient of accountability.

Matthew 11:22–24: Jesus states that it will be more bearable for the region of Sodom on the day of judgment than for the city of Capernaum, implying varying levels of retributive seriousness based on rejection of truth.

1 John 5:16–17: The Apostle differentiates between a "sin that leads to death" and a sin "that does not lead to death," supporting the traditional theological division between mortal/severe and lesser faults.

In fact, the above and many others suggest certain sins will need to be purged for one to enter heaven:

Matthew 12:32: Jesus says that speaking against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven "either in this age or in the age to come," which can be viewed as an implication that certain lesser sins can be absolved or purged in the afterlife.

Matthew 5:25–26: Jesus advises settling with an opponent quickly lest you be thrown into prison, adding "truth I say to you, you will not get out of there until you have paid the very last penny," symbolizing that certain sins can go through purification for one to be saved.

Can go on and on. But summary is that all sins are obviously not the same. In our human interactions for instance, there are times you may lie to save someone’s life. Is the act of lying in this case not a sin? But can it be placed in same bucket as the sin of the murderer who was lied to to save another’s life? Someone already alluded to crimes attracting varying legal consequences; that’s same with sins before God.

On Earth, no.

In the afterlife, sin and sin, no quantification.

This is not really correct. Sin is simply an act that has caused unpleasantness and pain to another person. So, it does not matter what people call it or whether it is written in a book
