President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the 2026 governorship election, according to Accord Party chieftain, Pelumi Olajengbesi.

Olajengbesi disclosed this while speaking with journalists at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre in Osogbo after Adeleke was declared winner of the election.

He said Tinubu personally called Adeleke to congratulate him, adding that the President deserved commendation for allowing the election to take place without interference.

Olajengbesi said Tinubu had kept his promise to allow the people of Osun to freely choose their governor.

“The President congratulated Governor Adeleke last night,” he said.

Tribune Online recalls that Adeleke secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.

The result gave Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes.

Honestly given the margin of this election's results despite the little division withing the APC in Osun, Tinubu winning the 2027 presidential election is almost a sure bet. PBAT can only be defeated when Atiku, PO, Kwankwaso all agree to work together.

Honestly given the margin of this election's results despite the little division withing the APC in Osun, Tinubu winning the 2027 presidential election is almost a sure bet. PBAT can only be defeated when Atiku, PO, Kwankwaso all agree to work together.

Dey play. People are being beaten up in Osogbo and other rural parts of Osun for campaigning for Tinubu and that was as far back as months ago. Tinubu's unpopularity cuts across all regions. Even as an untested candidate in 2023, APC had 21 governors but Tinubu only won 12 states. Half of those 12 states were not even APC-governed states. Things have gotten worse than they were in 2023 and Tinubu has gotten even more unpopular than the APC. A lot of governors may win their re-election but still fail to deliver Tinubu.

Damage control and a ploy to buy him on his side in preparation for 2027 after losing to rig him out. The dexterity and resilience of Osun people to protect their votes and prevent rigging is a template the opposition need to learn against 2027 election.

Even if they do,osun is off limits for them......the ife voters really did apc dirty,I bet they are trying to covet the governorship to their zone come 2030 rather than allow it remain in the west......omisore,I saw what you did right there.

Oyetola should take a back seat,its obvious he is a failure,baba akande and oyinlola should resign from active politics, its long overdue and aregbesola should accept he is now on past glory.

Adeleke has conquered them all.

Even with the campaigns beating, APC still scored 430k+ vote that should tell you something. Talking about popularity no presidential aspirant comes close to Tinubu, the city boy movement alone is even popular than some opposition parties, even PO will not get the number of votes he got in 2023, that papa and pikin party tsunami of 2023 will not be there for him. So many governors will work for Tinubu because his administration favoured them no thanks to huge FACs, if Tinubu could win 2023 despite his heavy demarketing by opposition then, how much more now with incumbent power coupled with a divided and a not serious opposition? 2027 sure die for Tinubu that's the harsh reality. But then this is democracy as such no harm in trying to beat him.

We told obidients that tinubu and adeleke personally don't have any issues with each other......its also note worthy where the chieftain was acknowledging tinubu for not interfering and allowing free and fair elections.......thats someone on the ground stating the matter as it is but those hate filled neo facist obidients sitting far away in Onitsha will be speaking for adeleke.
