The money actually belongs to the voters. This goes to show how wicked those politicians are to the citizens. Instead of using the money to better the lives of Nigerians, they will rather loot the money and share the reminants during election periods.
BluntCrazeMan:
And the Voters actually happily collected the payment they were paid...
...But they voted for someone else whose money they didn't collect...

That's the main issue being discussed inside this thread.

You may argue that ACCORD Paid more money.
And that was why they won, because more people went to the party which paid more money.

But according to the news on the ground,, it was APC which paid as much as ₦50,000 per vote in a lot of places,, and they also paid ₦20,000 per vote in some other places.

Honestly I don't really care whether Nigerians suffer or not. 2015 have thought my greatest lessons.

No politician dead or alive can safe Nigeria and Nigerians.

One government always leave it worse for the next to look bad.

Every government want to steal resources that will sustain them for a life time.

All politicians deceive and use masses to get to power thereafter turn against them.
Re: Osun People Mock-singing That They Collected N50k and N20k by banjul01: 6:43pm On Aug 16
There was a polling unit where 100 voters were gathered to the back. #50k was given to each person.
After the election, less than 20 people voted for the party.

Osun people really surprised me. I used to have this mindset that most people from the South West can easily be bought over by politicians.
Thumbs up to the people of Osun state for proving me wrong.

You think Adeleke did not pay voters too or he didn't inflate his votes in places like Ede where he is popular?

One thing many of people are not querying is how 1 million people voted in Osun. That figure almost rivals the numbers you would get in places like Lagos, Kaduna, Katsina, and Kano. Many of you don't care because APC lost. Anyway, I am sure Tinubu's people are looking into those numbers.
This turnout is still less than 50% of the total voters registered in the state. There probably would have been more turn out of not for the continuous threat coming from the main opposition in the state.

I pray 2027 elections experience more turn out.

Re: Osun People Mock-singing That They Collected N50k and N20k by jogsman01(m): 6:58pm On Aug 16
Adeleke is presently polling 522k as against Oyebamiji's 448k on iREV. Add the figures together unless the BVAS has also been subjected to rigging. BTW, I've never experienced the massive turnout of voters at my polling unit in Osogbo for over 20years now. Tribunal is APC's friend sha
BluntCrazeMan:
Now somebody is finally seriously doubting the 42% turnout.

I was doubting it at first, but someone told me that 42% turnout is even still very poor.

My brother, sheey you are believing that both ACCORD and APC wrote their results.??

THEN THE BVAS Automated DATA will be the only saviour...
And that would be - if the APC challenges the election at the courts.
(Which I believe they would definitely do by-the-way)

Because that is what the voters want. All of them.

One politican who is a house of reps member...gave out his phone number to constituents in the interest of transparency and wanting to hear for them. Over 90% of the calls to his number have been people asking for money. Not asking for him to do something about the bad road or bridge in our village, not asking for some school to be renovated, money. Just money

With that kind of mentality, why won't Nigerians take money in return for votes. And since politicans view it as investment , they won't pay attention to development (Actual develiopment is also hard work...and people don't like that).

At the end, Nigerians see development as someone sharing money to them, not long term development that would enable them make money...which is why we have never had good leaders since independence. We NIgerians like that kind of politics. We want the money. Let us not lie. Anyone who refuses to give out money is going to be mocked as stingy.

People are not getting it. Thank God you are also seeing what I've been sounding the alarm about for a while now. Over 1 million votes in Osun? A state that formerly couldn't register even 600k voters? Guess where those so called 1 million votes will go during the presidential elections. That's how the APC intends to rig for Tinubu.
I am confident the AMBO will not challenge the results of this election in the tribunal. The APC wouldn't want to draw suspicion to the dubious voters register INEC operates with.

NIgerians only come out for presidency, not for other elections. That's why I support same day elections, like we used to do once upon a time.

Also, voter turnout has been low in Nigeria

2019 election : 72.8 million people registered, 29.4million actually voted

2023: 82.3 million people registered, 24.9 million voted.

Assuming all the people that voted in the last election got pvc in 2023, that result is still plausible. It shows that party outreach, and even INEC Outreach got more voters out to vote. It could also mean that a lot of Accord voters came out from apathy to support Adeleke against APC attempts to defeat him.

Even then, no of registered voters in Osun was 2.3 million. No of actual voters was 1million. That shows that less than half of all voters turned out. The voter turnout shows some improvement, but overall, still bad.

Nothing like rigging. Voter turnout in Nigeria has been very poor.

The people's will actually reflected in the final result that was announced that's obviously why they are happy compared this to the general mood in nigeria in 2023 when tinibu was declared the winner of the presidential election.

I have not confirmed the turnout rate, but I know the turnout rate in 2022 in Osun was 42%. Hope that is not the figure you are quoting. Whichever way, 1 million in a state like Osun is massive. Only Kano, Lagos, and Kaduna get up to that figure in elections.
Osun have more than 2 Million registered voters, so 1 million turn out is ok. That is like 48 percent, moreover they came out because they wanted Ademola back. It should be more than this if all of them came out
Re: Osun People Mock-singing That They Collected N50k and N20k by Justnation: 7:20pm On Aug 16
I love this, Nigerians should continue doing this to those rogue politicians who want to buy our votes and our future with money.

The new mantra is COLLECT THE MONEY AND VOTE FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE.

Osun voters has made it clear that tinubu will loose woefully in 2027.
Tinubu has failed and has destroyed Nigeria.

VOTE FOR PETER OBI and RABIU KWANKWANSO.

NIGERIA WILL BE OK
Re: Osun People Mock-singing That They Collected N50k and N20k by Heffalump(m): 7:23pm On Aug 16
Money politics is bad for democracy.
See how Tinubu has destroyed the democratic system we struggled to build over the years.

Peter Obi no dey give shishi, e get why. He believes in voting him to serve the interest of the masses. If he buys your vote, it means you don't have any moral right to question his bad decisions while in power. Nigerians, don't be deceived with money that cannot guarantee your tomorrow.

2027 vote wisely. Collect APC's money but vote your conscience. After all it's our stolen money.
Your future is in your PVC. Enough is enough!
