They do this a lot in Asian continent. More so, in Africa, it is now more or less a culture to bury family members who died at the same or almost same time in the same place so as to pass down the unfortunate story of chain of death (Akufa) to their descendants who come visiting their family compound in the village.

Seeing how Muslims and Western cultures embrace cemeteries, I feel like every other culture and religion should do the same. If not a public cemetery, then at least a private family or kindred burial ground.Right now, many families bury their dead indiscriminately on their property. Then, 30 years later when the kids make some money and decide to build modern houses, they end up excavating skeletal remains.I actually saw a situation where a man was buried right in the middle of a family compound. A few years later, when the land was being shared among his sons, the boundary line went straight through the grave. The man’s headstone was on one son's plot, and his lower body was on the other's!In a case like that, what do you even do? Excavate the remains and relocate them? Relocate them where, and to whose side of the land? Setting up proper cemeteries is honestly the best way forward.

As an Igbo man, my children must take me back to the village and bury me in my compound when I die if I haven't retired to the village by then.

Nobody will allow you to bury your dead in a foreign land.

Cemetery for Muslims is where is recommended, not your compound or great grandfather compound somewhere in the village where they do not respect the dead...

A colleague died recently, and veryone of us had to contribute money to transport his corpse to Maiduguri.

As a Muslim, we bury our dead wherever death meets us.

where else do you suggest they bury their dead, in your compound or somebody's land ? of course they will bury where they have access to land, either their land in the village or the one they eventually buy or pay for at any cemetery.

Rapture is the last day for all of us on earth if alive when it happens. So it concerns death. Heaven is there where God stays don't know about hell. Paradise is also here then after rapture

How can you bury someone in a strange land ? In a land he doesn’t own or is from ?

T add to what you said, the word of the God make us to understand that we are going to return from where we come from. that means the returning the word of God is talking about stats on earth, that is taking you back to your home land where you belong so that the word of GOD can be fulfill, after that then heaven where we all come from.

Are you talking of old Karu or New Karu? becus i have been in new karu my life .
