That your people keep grudges for life is not anyone's problem.

Instead of you to tell your people to let go of the past and have the heart of forgiveness you are busy attacking Tinubu

So you expect Tinubu to continue to keep issues of 33 years ago in his head?

Na wa for you. You dey forgive so?

Tinubu is now the president so he's the father of the nation and what else does he need?

MadPolitician:
The same Babangida that you fought viciously against using NADECO. Tarnishing Nigerias hitherto good image beyond repair in the process. Many Nigerians tend to easily overlook the fact that Nigerias pariah status in the international sphere, started with all the caustic political mudslings between NADECO on one side, and Babangida/Abacha on the other side..

Lots of young men lost their precious lives confronting both Babangida and Abachas forces during the NADECO days.
Oga is now in Aso Rock, and all of a sudden, Babangida is an angel.
They even made Babangidas son the chairman of one of Nigerias most important government banks.

Would have been without blemish if not for Abacha that put a gun to IBB's head in 1993 making him to annul June 12.

Nobody forced the Evil Genius to annul any june 12 election.

Yep.

Babangida introduced SAP (IMF's 'Structural Adjustment Programme') in his usual Maradona way by opening it to national debate whether we should do it or not for an IMF loan after the economy tanked due to oil price crash..

Nigerians said no, and then IBB said he would create a customised version of the SAP that would be suited to Nigeria.

Assuming without conceding that IBB did well in several areas of our socio-economic life, annuling the freest and fairest election ever held in Nigeria completely eclipses anything he may have done right. He killed democracy and we are still struggling to resuscitate it It's like a student planning to study Engineering. Has A1 in all subjects except Physics and Maths where he has F9.

Tinubu is very intelligent and That is the best way to make statements constructively. introduction of corruption via chop make I chop policies, cancellations of several political parties and finally June 12 annulment are the bad side of him which Nigerians already know and no need to be mentioned in the birthday wishes.

So, if u are criticising Tinubu, mention those that are good and State those that are bad. But u guys only say he has done nothing when u know well that he has taken bold steps that others are afraid of.

Babangida introduced SAP. (Structural Adjustment Program) When younger folks say "sapa" today, this is how it came about.
Babangida's government was the beginning of real hardship and convoluted government policies for Nigerians.
Re: No Leader Has Impacted Nigeria Like Babangida - Tinubu by Pacesetter123(m): 3:33pm On Aug 17
Impacted Nigeria?
In what way exactly?
I wasn't mature to assess his administration in real time then, but if what I later read and study about his government is anything to go by,he doesn't worth the encomium the Presido is pouring on him.
Impacted Nigeria by annulling the most freest, credible and fairest election in the history of this nation and truncating democracy?
Impacted the nation by borrowing excessively from IMF and causing devaluation of our currency, naira?
Or is it by causing the kpa-ing of Nigeria youths in the streets during june 12 protest?
Or by running the economy down on the dictate of IMF/Western Imperialist and inflicting untold economic hardship on the Nigerian masses?
Is it by SAP policy that didn't have a human face?
When the Presido convey this type of national honour on the Evil Genius, did he consider the feelings of families who lost vibrant children/brothers /sisters to the June 12 protest which he himself called out the children for under the umbrella of NADECO?
This singular act of the Presido has made the death of those who struggle for June 12 to be in vane.

Anytime from now henceforth,I say Abacha was the best president we ever had,let me see any son of Adam or daughter of Eve coming to query me and preaching that useless sermon that "the WORST democratic rule is better than the BEST military rule" and bla bla bla.I will have a serious issue with such a person.

Well as a sitting president you have to say something not to demean your predecessor but sir I beg to disagree with you. I and many Nigerians see it differently.
What do you see differently?
Babangida has landmark projects that still thrive till today everywhere in the country.
Just to give you few.
He created more states taking from 19 to, I think 27.
Created FRSC and other agencies.

Hospitals like AKTH in Kano and others in the South about 4 of them including that at Gwagwalada.
He built Aso Rock and then move FCT to Abuja.

Express road from Abuja through Kaduna to Kano about 450km

Third mainland bridge in Lagos.

Created people's bank.

Total grip on insecurities.

He annulled June 12 because the Western world never wanted Abiola. The day one of their agent visited Nigeria and Abiola was to released from prison was when he died miraculously from drinking of tea.

Just mentioned but few anyway.

A shenanigan aimed at whipping the sentiments of the north. Very unfortunately some malam and so called imam wants to eat stone under a Moslem leader than eat salad under a Christian leader. But their progeny would later fill the national space begging in the name of almajiri. Terrorist hiding under Imam nomenclature.

From the list of achievements I saw, I agree with you sir.

His only offence to Nigerians is the annulment of that election that produced Abiola.

It was a die minute decision that smeared his garment. Unfortunately, we haven't recovered from its consequences.

All the same;

Happy birthday @IBB

Yeah he built infrastructures good but creating more states from 19 to 27,how many of those states are viable without monthly allocations from FG.

The Buhari/Idiagbon government was the best regime Nigeria ever had after Muritala/Obasanjo s regime but he came truncated that regime which was already institutionalizing discipline and accountability in the country and he institutionalized corruption and indiscipline bedeviling our country today.

Tinubu has resort to his usual begging mantra have seen that he's toast. He's boot licking northern elites for northern votes. He'll fail.

Tinubu is a failure and must be rejected. No amount of sycophancy will get him back to Aso Rock. He should go and rule his Oduwa People Republic not Nigeria.

May be President Tinubu is being -Sarcastic
1.Or he meant that IBB -aka -Evil Genius - that didn't not want to leave Power,
2-Dribble Nigeria for 8- years ,
3-Wasted Billions of Money 💰 on Elections that Never took place,
4-Masterminded the whole Political turmoil and Shenanigans and when the Heat was much , said ' I Stepped Aside ' but ' the Most Senior Military Officer Should Take Over Govt'
5-And Abacha- his Brother -the Dictator, Took Over from Ernest Shonekan - a Private Businessman!
6-Tragically, Abacha- Amassed Nigeria Largest Wealth - because of Greed, Manipulations and his Wealth All Over the World 🌎,that till date -Countries Are Still Repatriating Our Money Back to Nigeria ⁉️
7•-It Is IBB-that Person Who Impacted -NEGATIVELY and IBB Should live by his Deed, afterall,he has his own University !
8•He recklessly -Caused the Annulment of June 12 -1993-that MKO ( his Friend)-Won the Elections-that the Whole World 🌎- Witnessed as the- Most Free and Fair Elections in Nigeria and by his Actions - threw Nigeria Political and Economic Activities into the Sea ⛵- that Nigeria- Never Recovered till date!
9•The ARMY Did Terrible things because of their -Past Leaders - some of who were Selfish, like Other Greedy African Leaders!
10-IBB can continue to Deceive Himself but History will never be kind to record ⏺️ him with anything Positive and he has Nothing to Offer the Youths and the Masses!
Just FACTS AND TRUTH!

Even as a Military President, he did big projects. 3rd Mainland, FCT, etc.,

I have no doubt Nigeria would be far better if they had returned IBB rather than Buhari
Babangida left a horriblle legacy- fantastical corruption

The kind of excessive corruption public office holders are now associated with started with Babangida.

He made corruption respectable. The prime purpose of public office waa to amass as much wealth as possible without the fear of persecution.

If you think I am wrong, what did his imnediate successor, Abacha do- steal as much as possible!

Even Abdulsalaam and his boys amassed as much possible. They even wanted to dispose of NEPA, NITEL and a few other State owned enterprises until Obasanjo said he wont recognise their sale once he became president. That what stopped them.

The present set of politicians are no different.

The greatest sign can be gleaned from the Niger Delta.

Citizens of the South South States were demanding 50% derivation allocation in when democracy returned in 1999. Their demands were everywhere.

The FG gave them 13%. The demand for 50% has stopped. Why? Because the masses know that it would go into the pockets of public office holdera and not trickle down to them.

If their governments were not faithful with 13%, will tbey be faithful with 50%?

These wild and spurious allegations of corruption are a mere figment of your imagination.

IBB was a military Head of State and had to behave like a military Head of State. Yet he delivered landmark projects

If he was elected, he would have outperformed Buhari by far because he’s smarter, more intelligent, and more diplomatic
