Bro, you're free not to be interested in the post, but that's not the point. I'm addressing the misinformation and viral claims surrounding the USS Abraham Lincoln by comparing them with publicly available information. If the topic doesn't interest you, you can simply skip it. Nobody is forcing you to read it. As for Nigeria, there are plenty of discussions about Nigeria on this forum too. One thread about US Navy operations doesn't mean I'm ignoring Nigeria.

All your posts are full of lies. YOU ARE A LIAR BROS
Calling me a liar doesn't make the information false. Everything I posted can be independently verified from official US Navy/CENTCOM sources and credible reports. If you believe there's a lie in the post, point out the specific claim and provide evidence to the contrary. That's a much better argument than simply saying "YOU ARE A LIAR."

Really not any of our business what a US sailor eats or where he sleeps.

We know far more about the condition of service of the US military than our own military hunkered down in various parts of the north under even more dangerous situations., how come.

Is there any public forum in the United States with a thread dedicated to the service conditions of the Nigerian military in Bornu...?

What is wrong with you people.

That was not the reason!

Iran already bombed all their supply/maintenance ports in the Middle East and they were not able to restock efficiently, coupled with the fact that the ship was deteriorating as it could not get necessary maintenance.

Those pictures there was when the going was good, not when everything collapsed. Pictures were shared and you can find them online.

A journalist even hopped on it to give live accounts.

Funny guy, good thing they showed the video. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THOSE SHOWERS AND TOILETS?? Better than a regular barack toilet here in Nigeria!. Only that many people won't watch the videos.

By the way, these are people you say will die and it can be hidden! Get real

I got secondhand embarrassment from your comment. This is why our leaders don't care and the country is in a mess. Define what you consider as pampering. You are simply used to the terrible way of life here. Proper living or demands for it will look like pampering to people in hell. Nothing normal about the things we put up with in Nigeria.

Damage control. Since when does the US post such videos? ... especially when the vessel is in the war zone? ... isn't this strange? Iran has cut the supply chain for the carrier ... wrecked the supply ports in Bahrain ... basically sent the Fifth Fleet scampering ... the #1 naval strike force... the top gun ... so the Lincoln is down on stocks. If we pay attention to the video ... none of the men look happy .. the one eating... eating to survive... clearly not enjoy whatever he's eating. If we listen to what she's saying ... the men are being provided with protein and carbohydrate requirements .... is it not the same at Kirikiri?... watery beans no be protein? Reports are that they are severely rationing foods ...and there's a water shortage. As we can see in the second video ... toilets tell it all. Those who are used to pooing in bags... or overflowing stalls will see nothing wrong with the conditions ... a good indication of the life some of us are living. Three months is the maximum time allowed for the carrier to be at sea and not docked for maintenance. This has been out for 8 months.... wayyy off the coast of Iran ... fornfear of Iran's missiles. Why has it not being returned to port? Pride. I would not be surprised if there is a mutiny.

Sounds like a pretty straightforward, luxurious life for these sailors. All good.
Just because mediocrity is the Nigerian way doesn’t mean this is luxury. The soldiers were right to revolt because risking your life in less than subpar conditions was not the deal. And a few images aimed at polishing the turd of this administration doesn’t mean this sailors are living in luxury at sea. They should have better than this. They used to have far better than this. Until this useless administration came along.

How US Sailors Eat, Sleep & Get Paid On The 2026 Iran Mission | USS Abraham Lincoln

1/ Introduction

A lot of videos/photos have been circulating about the USS Abraham Lincoln since it was redirected to the Middle East in January 2026.

Some claim "sailors are starving", "ship abandoned", "multiple suicides".

So I decided to break down how these 5,000+ Sailors and Marines are actually being supported during an 8+ month deployment and combat operations.

All photos I'll post are from official US Navy DVIDS/public sources from this deployment.

2/ Why Lincoln is there

Lincoln left San Diego on Nov. 21, 2025, for a normal Indo-Pacific deployment. It made a scheduled port call in Guam on Dec. 11.

In January 2026, as US-Iran tensions rose, the carrier was diverted from the Pacific to CENTCOM.

It entered the Middle East on Jan. 26.

Operation Epic Fury began Feb. 28.

That means an unplanned 8+ month deployment, with more than 200 consecutive days without a normal port visit. That's tough.

3/ Food: Are they starving?

Short answer: There is no confirmed evidence that the entire crew is being systematically starved.

Carriers receive supplies while underway through replenishment-at-sea operations and other logistics missions.

Lincoln has conducted multiple documented replenishments with USNS Henry J. Kaiser, Yukon, John Lewis, Carl Brashear and other support ships.

However, sailors' families have reported periods of food and supply shortages, including rationing and shortages of some basic items.

The Navy disputes the more severe descriptions and says food and essential services remain available.

So: food/supply problems have been reported, but "5,000 sailors are starving" is not an established fact.

4/ Housing, Health & Daily Life

- Sleep: "Racks" — multiple bunks, often stacked three high, with curtains. Limited privacy, but that's home for months.

- Work: Long and rotating shifts. The carrier operates around the clock, especially during combat operations.

- Medical: Medical and dental personnel and facilities are available onboard. Serious cases can be evacuated when necessary.

- Mental health: Medical professionals, chaplains and other support services are available. But more than 200 days without a normal port visit, combat operations and separation from family create genuine mental and emotional strain.

- Gym, laundry, internet: These facilities exist onboard, although access and availability can vary during operations.

5/ Pay & Benefits

Sailors continue receiving their normal military pay while deployed.

Depending on rank, years of service and individual eligibility, they may also receive additional benefits such as:

Base pay + Sea Pay + Imminent Danger Pay + applicable combat-zone tax benefits.

The exact amount varies from sailor to sailor, so there is no single salary figure for everyone aboard Lincoln.

Mail and care packages can also be moved to the ship through the Navy's logistics system.

6/ The Viral Claims — What's confirmed vs not

- Man overboard, Aug. 3: Confirmed. A sailor went overboard and was recovered alive.

- "Multiple sailors jumped": Families and military media have reported multiple attempted overboard incidents, but the Navy disputes claims of a broader spike in suicidal behavior. Not every reported incident has been independently confirmed.

- "Starvation meal photos": Viral photos should be checked carefully. A photo circulating online does not automatically prove it was taken aboard USS Abraham Lincoln during this deployment.

The important thing is to separate confirmed incidents, reported allegations and social-media rumors.

7/ Relief is Coming

Good news: USS George Washington (CVN-73) is now in the Middle East with a new carrier strike group and is expected to relieve Lincoln.

Lincoln's deployment has lasted far longer than a normal carrier deployment, and the crew has spent more than 200 consecutive days without a normal port visit.

After months of combat operations and life at sea, the Lincoln crew has earned a break.

8/ Conclusion

Conditions aren't perfect. It's hot, cramped, stressful and extremely demanding.

But "tired and stressed" does not automatically mean "abandoned and starving."

At the same time, legitimate concerns about food, supplies, living conditions and mental health should not simply be dismissed.

The US Navy's logistics system is designed to keep carriers operating at sea, even during combat.

These sailors deserve facts, not rumors or political ammunition.

They're doing a hard job far from home, so I figured we should understand what life aboard the carrier actually looks like.

What do you guys think? Would you last 200+ days at sea?

Nigerians as at now are not meant to be talking when matters of real countries are being discussed. Nigeria under tinubu is a bunch of shamelessness.
