Atiku Just Pushed Out The Most Strategic Campaign Point For The 2027 Election by Predictor3(op): 9:20am On Aug 21
Atiku said he would bring back fuel subsidies. And you better believe him, he would if he won.

Buhari knew the subsidies were hurting the country's finances but kept them on until he left because he knew it would hurt northerners more. He needed a fall guy for that removal, Tinubu.

If you think things have gotten harder financially for people in the southern part of Nigeria since the fuel subsidy was removed, then you have to multiply that hardship by at least 5 to know how it is in the north.

With this pronouncement by Atiku, the race has been blown open. And the race would be won or lost in the north.

My opinion

He should return it as it will benefit more people. I supported the removal but this government and apc governors are looting the gains from it.So it is of no use again removing it.

Pls stop politicizing every topic, it's just wrong. The subsidy is been shared to every state irrespective of the political affiliation and that's why some state today can conveniently pay salary, pension, gratuity and still facilitate some projects in there state. One of my grievance with this administration is that the government should have least make wait, study and fashion out a way to cushion the effect of the long overdue subsidy removal, rather than doing that one the first day without minding it adverse effect on the lives of the populace.

Arrant nonsense.

How will he pay for it ?

And what will happen to all the ongoing local investment into private refineries?

How is he going to even pay for it when Crude prices are now spiking due in large to US depleting their strategic oil reserves to meet the fall in global oil supply due to the closure of the Straits of Hormuz ?

Oil prices are now set to face the reality of US strategic oil reserves running out.

There's also record debt the US has reached -$40 Trillion which saw to the US Treasury buying up bonds it issued with printed money because no other country is looking to invest in a heavily indebted US bond market.

The Japs are also liquidating their US bonds to prop their fast crashing Yen.

Japan has been in a depression for the past 40ys but with China overtaking Japan in auto production and export and Japan having the highest trade deficit (75% negative), Japan has seen severe shocks on the Yen and the only way to prop it is to sell more US bonds.

Japan holds the highest US debt - $1.3 Trillion .

And since Japan can not afford to buy more US debt and Gulf Kingdom states are not making as much as they would due to the closure of the Straits , the number 1 dutiful purchasers of US treasury bills are not buying US bonds.

So the US Treasury had to buy back the bonds back with printed fiat money .

Now that's inflation in the making as more US dollars have to be printed to buy back debt issued by the same US govt.

The USD is about to take a massive hit , oil is to spike owing to supply concerns and further devaluation of the USD.

So how is Atiku going to pay for subsidies ?

Where is the money going to come from ?

And if the US economy suffers, there's trouble for the rest of the world.

But how many ordinary Nigerians know these points you highlighted? They just want to hear that the days of cheap fuel will come back. It's a brilliant campaign point for Atiku

The US even knows that their time is up in the ME and that's why they went to steal Venezuelan crude and with China cornering the rare earth metals globally, they want to annex Greenland to take over the untapped rare earth metals so as to not be reliant on the Chinese. The CCP has even banned sale of rare earth metals to the US

Even America is planning to leave the ME after Iran showed them shege and has emerged as the dominant regional power.

Saudis are now signing military pacts with Turkey and Pakistan owing to US exit from the region.

The Abraham's accord that was supposed to ensure Israel is accepted among Sunni Gulf States has backfired due to the wars in Gaza , Lebanon and against Iran.

Gulf kingdom states know their population are in no support of the Abraham accord and their countries providing military assistance for Israel.

This is why even Israel is now looking to South America by getting right wing Zionist leaders installed towards signing the Isaac Accords.

Israelis know their time is up and only a fringe fanatical section still remain committed to Zionism and the Third Temple nonsense.

Most are keying into Patagonia resettlement in Argentina after the Ukrainian option fell flat with Russia preventing the Jew take over of Ukraine.

South Americans carry 30% Jewish admixture owing to Jews raping their slaves and the indigenous people.

While Abraham accord was based on Isaac and Ishmael, Isaac Accords is based on Jacob and Esau to which the Jews claim that they founded South America and share DNA with them.

Jews are now contending to divide the world into two hemispheres with them and their American golems controling the entire Western Hemisphere.

That's why Trump keeps insisting that Greenland belongs to America because it's on the western Hemisphere and he needs Greenland to control the arctic sea.

The siege on Cuba , Haita are all meant to force these countries into the Isaac Accord.

Colombia just elected a new president who has promised to restore relationship with Israel which is opposite what the outgoing President was .

Trump and Israel are also backing jailed former Brazilian President , Jair Bolsonaro's son to take over from Lula because Lula is against Israel genociding Palestinians and over his commitment to BRICs.

In Mexico, a Jewish witch is their President having been installed by the Jewish Drug Cartels - yes all Mexican cartel figures and gangs are overwhelmingly Jewish and descended from Sephardic Jews who fled Spain after the Jewish expulsion.

This is why that Jewish witch has been attacking Spain.

These people never forgive not forget nor do they see due punishment for their crimes .

The world is rapidly changing and the US Israel alliance is looking at controlling the entire Western Hemisphere from Canada's arctic circle down to the very tips of Drake's passage in Argentina's most southern tip

With this the US Israeli order will control both polar regions and Antarctica.

Most of these posters here no exactly zilch about the world are living in.

And Tinubu has made the gravest mistake of appointing that child bride to that war lord as our FM.

If the govt can use subsidy removal as a campaign topic, why won't the opposition exploit the horrendous impact on the citizens?

There's no trouble for the rest of the world.

The US in itself is taking precaution by securing real assets across central South America, Greenland and Canada .

The Ponzi scheme is over .

It's only countries that hold US debt like Japan that will suffer immensely as 90% of Japan's sovereign wealth is tied to US debt .

If this was just simple deposits in US banks , Japan can easily recall their money by moving it into another currency or asset like Gold.

But being US Treasury bonds, no one is willing to touch that Ponzi scam. The only people willing to buy back Japanese owned stock of US treasury bills was the US treasury.

What US is doing is far worse than what Mugabe did to prevent the Zimbabwean economy and currency from crashing but we saw how that turned out for Zimbabwe ending with having the worst devalued currency with everyday items like bread retailing in billions for a loaf.

The situation in the US is far worse.

And the world won't be bothered because the US produces nothing but p0rn and useless social media companies.

Tell us what US produces other than p0rn and GMO corn

The world will be a far better place if the US collapses

If the Soviet Union collapse did not take the world down with it, is it that land of the seven deadly sins that will?

You can see how many of you reason because u earn salary. So because the government can now pay salaries, pension and gratuity it is OK to you.How many percentage of Nigerians fall into this group u mentioned. How about the larger Nigerians who don't have anything to do with this things you mentioned here. And any state the state government didn't pay those things is because he didn't see it as priority. Why is the state doing with its federal allocation. And why can't the state generate enough igr for its bill. That means your state governor was into criminality or had nothing in his brain to offer
And after 3 yrs now why haven't the things promised to cushion the effects materialise.
How many governors went to osun to rig election spending over 100billion.Tell me what the 79% poverty and hungry Nigerians are benefiting from the removal now even though I supported the policy in the past
Let them return it as it solved no problem to majority of Nigerians

God bless you my brother, exactly my point , majority of Nigerians dont read, dont listen to global economic news , 99% of Nigerians dont even know the crude oil price in market. Just because of little hardship they want Atiku to return subsidy , the have quickly forgetten days of sleeping in filling station due to fuel scacity, Look at the Stock Market how ASI has improved ......Opposition will badmouth Lagos-Calabar coastal road because they dont give them contract .....people failed to see how those infracstucture will assist trade when completed.

Only an ignoramus will believe Atiku will bring back fuel subsidy.

1: Where will he get the money from?
2: subsidy requires an act of parliament, which senate or house members will pass a subsidy bill knowing full well their governors need the money and those governors control their fate? Some of you don’t understand many of these things are legacies from the military era. They are things that were created by military fiat! But just like creation of states, re-introduction of subsidies is almost impossible in a civilian regime.
3: Atiku will tell you anything to get elected, if he doesn’t remove the subsidy nothing will happen. He is not interested in reelection, all he wants is for the records to reflect he was president of Nigeria.
4: You think Dangote will supply you petrol and be waiting 3 years to get paid when he can easily export his entire output?

Nobody will bring back fuel subsidy!

This is the reason I believe there needs to be a minimum level of enlightenment, education and awareness to qualify to vote.

Your last statement is very valid but impossible.
Now everything you've said here will just fly over the head of the hungry and uninformed, who sadly dominate our society. But don't believe they can't bring subsidy back in some form.
Remember Tinubu himself said there was nothing like subsidy and many of you believed him then, even protested against Jonathan who wanted to remove it then.

Atiku has made a serious point that may endear northerners and other regions to his campaign

Fuel subsidy removal has no meaning, the govt is looting them for themselves and their cronnies

Let the common men benefit from dividend of democracy. All subsidy is removed - education, health-care, transport, electricity etc yet social amenities are floppy and messed, Nigerians pay so high to live in a country with so much endowed natural resources

Honestly, it's a masterstroke. His handlers are working well.
Even if it's deceit, it will make people interested in his campaign.
They should have a debate about this, make we see how the APC people will defend the policy, based on the welfare of Nigerians

I don’t just like it when the so called educated people are not analytical enough. You don’t have to believe everything you heard without doing your own research.

What they are sharing is not simply the money “saved” from the removal of the fuel subsidy. A significant part of the increase in naira-denominated government revenue came from the devaluation of the naira and the resulting exchange-rate gains.

This is the part of the argument that needs to be understood. Before the FX reforms, the dollar was around ₦460. As the naira was allowed to depreciate, the exchange rate eventually moved to around ₦1,500/$, an increase of roughly 226% in the naira cost of the dollar.

At the same time, government allocations increased. In 2023, total FAAC distributions increased by about 23.6%, while the states’ share increased by about 30%. By 2024, the amount distributed to state governments increased by about 62% compared with 2023.

So when we hear that “state allocations have increased,” we also need to ask: increased in naira terms or increased in real purchasing power?

Let me put it another way: if the dollar suddenly went back to ₦500/$, do you honestly think the Federal Government would still be able to maintain these same nominal state allocations?

That is the question Nigerians should be asking.

Because if a government devalues the currency by hundreds of percentage points and then points to the larger number of naira being shared as evidence of increased revenue, we must also account for how much the value of that naira has fallen.

The bigger question is not simply, “How much more money are the states receiving?”

It is: “How much is that money actually worth?”
