Please, someone should teach me how to lock network bands on MTN ODU

The customer service doesn't have an idea what they're talking about. The 3 months plan is 1TB FUP monthly, that's 3TB overall. But if you exhaust per month it will be throttled (observation from a user here)

like I said, they don't have any idea of what they're talking about. I don't trust those customer service people

At the moment, you cannot lock network band on MTN ODU.

All the settings and manipulations that needs to be done just to have what is, by most standards, a mediocre internet connection and experience. These companies need to be held accountable. AS I have mentioned in other threads, I have had my own issues with MTN during my visits. We need to really get past this mess in order to have progress in the country!

Its really sad. This is what happens when regulators fail at their jobs.

Wherever you are, just remain there. You are not missing anything. This country is not ready for any meaningful progress.

I remember when Glo wanted to crash data pricing a few years ago, MTN and Airtel complained to NCC and ultimately, NCC labeled it as anti-competition. It's the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard.

All the countries around the world where data eventually becomes cheap, it was always one company that starts the revolution and the rest had to follow or be left out. But not in Nigeria.

In India, it was Jio. In Portugal and Spain, it was Digi.

Your link has been really helpful. Do you have another website containing such? I have found only one add-ons that works for live channels.

I did the MTNN 25GB freebie with one of my Hynetflex Sim cards. I inserted the sim inside unlocked X25pro and it's working. This means the ODU sim will probably work in the X25pro because MTN Hynetflex Sims don't work in other network routers.

Meanwhile, all the 4 MTN frequencies I can see here have bandwidths of 20. Only a few frequencies in band 7 and band 1 on Airtel have bandwidths of 20 and 15 respectively. The rest have 10.

The ping is still poorer than Airtel's here though. But those bandwidths must be something.

Were U located bro.. it seems the Airtel is upgrading there mast I hv not been Able use my odu to its full potential for 5 days now, today is very worst .. I have restarted more then 200 times today... But since I disable band 7 and click all the rest, It has been working getting like 3mbps ...

Far better than Airtel but you can’t lock bands and it’s always on band 3, I wanted to lock to band 7.

I’m getting a good speed of 100mbps off peek but when it switches to band 7 by mistake I Dey get 350mbps sometimes 650mbps but it hardly switches to band 7, the ODU go just Dey band 3 day and night.

Since Airtel said they upgraded the Mast in my area, small '3G only' mode I used to manage during the day time now is not usable anymore.

you ticked all the bands I guess, . For the past three weeks, Airtel’s network has been very bad here. yesterday, Band 7 was especially bad, so I had to tick all the bands and untick Band 7 before I could use the network properly. But since today, the maximum speed I’m getting is only 30 Mbps.

Lol. Your ODU sub is limited to 100Mbps that's why it can't go above that, after the first month you'll need 45k to get 100mbps or 30k for 50mbps.

Mtn released official link about the ODU, they call it flyX. Link https://www.mtn.ng/broadband

Airtel need to upgrade their infrastructures if not, they will struggle to keep their customers. This is the second month of using MTN ODU and I have never called their CC, no single Issue in my area.

MTN doesn’t have ODU , it’s called MTN FlyX.😂
