I Think APC Should Go To Court Because Of Ede Votes, Ede Is Not The Largest Community In Osun—Fayose

According to a report by TVC News, on Thursday August 20, 2026, Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to initiate legal action regarding the election results recorded by the Accord Party in Ede, Osun State, labeling the figures highly suspect and inconsistent with the community's demographic size.

Fayose questioned the validity of the high vote tally attributed to the Accord Party in Ede, pointing out that the town does not constitute the largest demographic center in Osun State.

“I think they should go to court because of the votes in Ede. Ede is not the largest community in the state. You don’t have that kind of number. I believe it was rigged,” Fayose said.

While conceding that Ede is widely recognized as a traditional political bastion of the Adeleke family, Fayose maintained that the sheer volume of the reported numbers raises serious doubts.

He drew attention to a 46,000-vote differential across two local government areas, describing the gap as notably wide and deserving of judicial scrutiny.

Turning his focus to national politics, the former governor also offered insights on the upcoming 2027 presidential election, forecasting a significantly improved performance for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Osun State compared to past electoral cycles.

Fayose noted that President Tinubu possesses the political acumen needed to handle the Adeleke political coalition while simultaneously managing internal APC dynamics.

He suggested that as key political stakeholders in the state gain confidence regarding their prospects under the current administration, they will likely rally substantial support for the president's re-election campaign.

Tinubu does not want that. All he wants for now is for the two camps to unite and secure his re-election.
