Russia is their master. They love to stay in their parents house forever 😂

@Racoon, the truth is, it's not a must we build houses or stay in rented apartments. We need an urgent need to enforce our government to control our housing systems via non greedy agents. Low affordable housing systems is the key. This will enable us free our blessed ecosystem for organic farming. We are too blessed with arable land. Why should we kill our bowels with poisons. Lagos State is even out of this equation, because the greedy folks now sell seas. Other states in SW should save her people with this sincere suggestion. That is the only solution.

You & your apc. likes are always myopic, You guyz talk and think one way ... in developed world once you get to 20yr+ you are already out of your parent house living an independent

it is almost like APC derive joy in Poverty manangement, cos i remember back in the days that when youth grow beards in there father house n bring finance to nack in there parent house, no job or still in university at 29yrs

Today youths have advance nd quick to stand up But Hazmat seeing that Tinubu as failed Nigeria badly, knowing standard &cost of living is up the roof is teacjhing Nigerian youth to return back to there parebt house or be a squatter ... does that resonate a progressive Leader

if APC is not teaching us how to use pap to substitute Nan or SMA gold baby food, if you cant buy fish eat cray fish

Why is it APC always come up with coaching Nigerians how to swim in Poverty, they are youth graduates sell akara, sell kulikuli ... they never come up with any progressive reasoning that can break out of people

Low affordable housing systems are in a way a contradiction in terms.

Such houses would be eventually built with very poor quality materials, and they won't be easy to maintain, and eventually would become slums.

The problem with mass housing by government is that it somehow must be quality, affordable and at the same time be well maintained. Trying to do all that at the same time usually does not work easily. That's something that a lot of people don't get, and pointing that out gets one labelled APC supporter, lol. Like, how.? Not every problem has a instanta answer. At the end of the day, it's all complicated.

The harsh fact is that at the end, the best way is some form of mortgage, which even in saner climes is a tough proposition.

Also, how long are the young people going to stay in the cheap houses, plus we have to find a way to expand sewage, and electricity to the houses. Would the young people be able to earn the salary needed to pay for the houses to be well maintaned? Etc etc.

As for Rossiya, they too have the same issues as does Europe

Key russia young people statistics.

54%: The portion of young adults (ages 18–25) unable to leave the parental home.27%: The share of all Russians under the age of 40 who still reside with their parents.

30% to 50%: The typical down payment required by commercial banks for a standard property purchase, which prices out most students and recent graduates.

41.6%: The nationwide percentage of dwellings that fail to meet minimum regulatory standards for area and basic amenities (e.g., centralized heating or sanitation), a form of structural housing poverty that disproportionately affects young, growing families.

15%: The proportion of projects managed by Russia's largest developers currently facing structural delays as high key interest rates crush market demand.
Source is the same way I got the other sources.

You don't old man. You were the one who came in with the abusive language first, because you could not respond to my points in an articulate way.

So, follow christ, and stop making us christians look bad. Reflect on your life. And learn to accept correction, son.

I gave a response to someone, and your first reaction to my point was to use abusive language. And then I called you out on it, and you refuse to learn eh?

Good morning.

Re: Live With Parents Or Share Rent, Lagos Deputy Gov Advises Young Workers (video) by Dpopsman123(m):
This is very wrong sir.
Anyone old enough to be working and earning should choose their privacy pattern and be independent as responsible citizens.

If house rent that used to be affordable even for the unemployed is now unaffordable, even for the employed categories, it should not be so with people's wage and their income. Nothing should be left behind in a rising economy, that is why it is termed rising. Otherwise, something is wrong with that system.

Where are we taking Lagos to with this kind of public order, boss?

This is not right to say of an utmost eagerlitarian society.
Sustainable Development Goals-SDGs global accountability is barely three years away from now and this is what is trending from Lagos. The youths deserves decent lives and they should be given full support.

Increasing property rents even after owners have realized more than double of their cost price is no way forward. We should rather focus on cutting multidimensional poverty and building sustainable ecosystems for a prosperous governance.

I am sure that the people will always support responsible leadership that respects fundamental human rights.

If you are contesting for a position with this mentality I am sure it will never go as intended. Osun State just completed theirs and I don't think that Lagos is excempted, come '27 sir.

I hope you'll get there someday sir.

Trust the obidients to come for this man's head for advising them on how to be sensible with their finances as far as rents and housing issues are concerned in Lagos.

People have formed the culture of leaving the message to chase the messenger. But I'm not surprised!

If you're not satisfied with what he has said, you have options! You go back to your village, you build and pack in or you buy a house and live there!

Unfortunately for some, the man happens to be the next governor (ceteris paribus) and any contrary opinion anyone might have at this point holds no water.

How can you have a circle who marry into their father’s house?

I know where it happens. It’s always among those NURTW sets. Father gives them a room and they move inside with their wife.

Which yeye obedients. Aren't most of them easterners? In the villages where they come family, they practice a kind of extended family settings, where they all lived together in the same compound. It's competition among themselves that killed the system and drove most of them out to Lagos and other developed states.

Let me help you to complete your statement; 'then they save the money they are supposed to spend on rent annually to get their own lands. So they built their own house and move in'. They were able to also acquire more properties.

My brother, I remembered when I moved out from my parents' house to rent my own apartment some years ago. My mum was crying that why did I want to leave this big house. Even where I rented my apartment in Lagos is just N300 tfare to my parent's house. Though I later regretted that action cos of the amount I spent on rent annually. I couldn't catch up with my friends on the number of properties they acquired today.

And thanks for calling us NURTW gangs, it shows that you are who you call others.

Family differs, where you come from, you might not love one another genuinely.

FreeStuffsNG:
Hamzat gave an example of a property costing N7m, saying a buyer could make a 10 per cent initial payment and spread the balance over 10 years.

“So, if a flat in Bisedi, which is seven million naira, you pay 10 per cent with 700,000, and over 10 years, you are able to pay monthly,” he said.

He was asked how a 22-year-old earning N100,000 monthly could afford a self-contained apartment or mini-flat costing about N1m annually.

Hamzat said young people should consider accommodation that reflects their income rather than trying to start from the top.

“Don’t let us misunderstand ourselves as a people. We are cultural people. Do you understand? So, if I start work as a young person and I’m not married, a lot of us live with our parents. A lot of us live with our cousins,” Hamzat said.

Very sound, brilliant, pragmatic and experienced Leader!
That's an unintelligent take from both Hamzat and You. What the government should be doing is work things out to increase the Purchasing Power of Nigerians not ask people to manage the pathetic economic crisis we are currently dealing with. Again, this is a very stupid take from Hamzat. I hope he doesn't win with this useless orientation of his.

So because part of Lagos State used to be the FCT other state givernors should not provide housing for again?

Lagos has a very small land mass compare to other states. That's why the state has been battling waste disposal issue due to her large population. Lagos State needs to be decongested. Lagos State is no longer the FCT.

He didn't say anything bad. He even mentioned raising people's incomes via a growing economy. Aside from building public housing, that's the major step in solving high rents - residents being able to move up the property ladder because of increased earnings.
