President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, as Director of Women Mobilisation for his 2027 presidential campaign council.

Edu’s appointment was contained in the full list of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council released on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

The campaign council will be chaired by President Tinubu, while Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as vice chairmen.

Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, was named Director-General, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, will serve as Secretary.

Senator Ajibola Bashiru and Hadiza Bala-Usman were appointed Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.

The same Betta Edu sacked by Tinubu after stealing and siphoning the money meant for the poor through the Social Investment Programmes, the so-called ‘safety nets’ by the Tinubu administration, supposedly meant to cushion the effects of the abrupt removal of the fuel subsidy, is now appointed to lead Tinubu’s re-election campaign for women mobilisation.

Tinubu continues to take Nigerians for granted. More so, APC members. The already aggrieved will feel like salt has been added to their injury, but the long and short of the whole matter is that subsidy must return.

No, she didn't chop money, and it was early in Tinubu's government not Buhari’s. She made a rookie mistake. She approved sending money to someone's (project accountant) personal account for disbursement. As they tried investigation, na so they enter big potopoto pupoo from previous minister. Na so everything scatter.

I was a strong supporter of APC, About at this point I think voting tinubu 2027 will be a huge disaster. Bandits are running riot, hunger and poverty everywhere. Subsidy removed but the funds are stolen. We keep borrowing with nothing to show 4 it.

Lagos — ABIA State governor, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and his Lagos State counterpart, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would not escape justice but would be made to face the full wrath of the law following their recent indictment for alleged corruption by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Chairman of the commission Mallam Nuhu Ribadu who made the vow yesterday said the duo must account for their stewardship and may be thrown out of office.
