This is a sad one for the car owner. Nothing less than 109k will be spent to fix it after. |
| Re: Car Trapped In Floodwater On Lagos-ore-benin Road Sparks Outrage (Photos/Video); by Dogalmighty17: 12:09pm On Aug 23 |
PerfectStranger:109k? Are you joking? That car is a total write off. It will cost more to fix that car than to buy another one. The engine and electronics are totally gone. If the owner of that car dares to try starting the engine, the water in the cylinders will cause what's called hydrolock. The engine block breaks and the metallic rods bend. |

Didn't the driver see where other cars are passing? Or was the car parked there? |

Tilumbu is rather busy with construction of a coastal highway to link his SW region to the coastal oil producing areas. |

Dogalmighty17:that's a big lie He should just wait for the flood to go down, tow the vehicle to a mechanic place.....leave it there for few days n the mechanic should work on the car engine, rewire should also do his job. He will spend money but the car isn't write off, if na like that car dey write off nobody go use car again...haba |

OBI told them to forget building new roads and upgrade old and already existing roads that are an eyesore, they attacked him and called him names. Obi remains an ocean Atlantic and Pacific combined. Tinubu and Dave just ordinary river and swamp. |

BATified2023:Obi will never be so ethnocentric like Tinubu who constructs a coastal highway to link his SW region to the oil producing areas on the coast but ignore the Ore-Benin-Onitsha road to become a river like that. |

Barrywilly:He has appointed a works minister that has done nothing about the road, plus he hasn't done things like get a means to sustainably fund the road's maintenance and upgrades. If he had done that, there might have been some changes...and maybe that would have been avoided. Uneasy the head that lies the crown, old man. |

onuman:LOL...i am not a tinubu supporter, but let us tell ourselves the truth, there are some ongoing road projects in the SE...(I saw what you did). Calabar–Ebonyi–Benue–Abuja Superhighway: A multi-section regional economic corridor linking the South-East, South-South, and North-Central, designed to slash travel times to Abuja.Enugu–Onitsha Expressway: Advanced reconstruction and dualisation of critical segments, alongside collapsed bridge replacements and solar illumination.Port Harcourt–Enugu Expressway: Ongoing systemic repairs and dual-carriageway expansions across state boundaries.Otuocha–Anam–Abaji Road: Recently approved procurement linking Anambra State directly to Kogi State.Oba–Nnewi–Uga–Ihube Road: Strategic connector route tying Anambra and Imo states into the broader Enugu–Port Harcourt corridor.Abakaliki–Afikpo Road & Ndi-Egbe Bridge: Valued at over ₦116 billion in fresh budgetary approvals to fast-track connectivity within Ebonyi State.Enugu–Abakaliki–Ogoja Road: Upgraded segments aimed at easing agro-trade movement to external borderIt does not mean that tinubu is a good leader. My problem with him is that there is no sustainable means of funding those road's mainteance, plus priority should be given to railways above roads really. |

The problem with Nigeria has never really been the political leaders. Rather its always been the ordinary people who sycophantically support nonsense out of useless sentiments. Even the worst of dunces understands the basic concept of priorities, but somehow when we get to Africa, common sense always becomes rocket science. Roads that are currently being used by millions are being abandoned for "brand new" roads that would take the next 30 years to complete. The benin-warri highway is barely 60 miles long and it used to take 45mins to 1hour back in the days. But in the past 10 years, travellers have endured over 2-3 hours on same road. Meanwhile, the bad sections aren't even that extensive and it would take less than 0.01% of the money being expended on the so-called coastal road to instantly patch and make life easy for millions. But what do we get? When sensible people suggested that existing operational roads be patched first to make life easy for Nigerians before embarking on |
