Canada is inviting skilled professionals in the health care and social services sectors to explore immigration opportunities as the country works to address workforce shortages.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced the initiative in a post on X, calling on qualified professionals with the required training, credentials and work experience to explore available immigration pathways.

The invitation is open to qualified professionals from around the world, meaning eligible Nigerians with the required qualifications and experience can also explore the available pathways.

According to IRCC, the initiative is aimed at attracting skilled workers who can help fill gaps in Canada’s health care workforce and provide essential services to Canadians.

Who Can Apply?
Interested professionals must have the relevant training, credentials and professional experience required for their occupation.

However, meeting the professional requirements does not automatically guarantee permanent residence or a job in Canada. Applicants must determine which immigration pathway applies to their individual circumstances and meet all applicable requirements.

How to Apply
Interested Nigerian health care and social service professionals should explore Canada’s official immigration pathways to determine their eligibility.

Applicants should also be prepared to meet any applicable requirements relating to professional licensing, credential recognition, language proficiency, work experience and immigration eligibility.

The unemployment rate in Canada is on the high side that you would even find online videos about it. If the jobs are there, why aren’t their own citizens taking up that job instead of seeking foreign intervention?

Yes, they are not trained but a country like Canada has the capability to train them and get them to work within same processing time they approve a foreigner.

I am talking from what I witnessed and Saw on arrival in Toronto / Canada, when I arrived for studies , it is a good country but get ready to work hard oooooo

Piece of advice. I am in Canada 🇨🇦, this story is a lie, scam and untrue they use this as a means to deceive people ans collect their money. LMIA isnt working anymore. If you want to come to Canada, just apply through express entry and do the exams.

I saw a video of a nurse on IG yesterday saying she is being searching for a job for over one year. There were nurses in the comment section saying how difficult it has been. I thought nurses were in high demand.

These are nurses that also have Canadian license. If nurses are finding it hard to get jobs, then i don't know what else to say.

Canada is not what is used to be anymore. In the last 10 years it gone seriously downhill. Trump economic warfare is not helping matters thus economic outlook is very unpredictable. Most companies may eventually fold up or move to USA.

Moreover, the massive immigration policy of Trudeau did not correlate with economic opportunity so we have far too many people chasing fewer good jobs.

Except Nigeria is already a dead end , I would not advise anyone to consider Canada. Spending over 50 million to leave a very good job and relocate to Canada in 2026 is not a wise decision.

They would end up keeling themselves over corruptions, lies and greediness. Naigeerian and Naigeerian never ever go into business together. It never works.

Canada looking for cheap labour from 3rd world countries. Maybe if they paid their citizens good wages they would do these jobs. Healthcare work isn't easy, long hours night and irregular shifts.

The US has pushed Canada and the country is now aligning with Europe and Asia. She has the resources to make up for demands that was previously all channeled to the US.

If the deal between US and Canada COMPLETELY collapses has it has done in previous negotiation, then Canada is a place to go bury that money. The pain will come, but the gains will be like money rituals.
