I initially thought this latest episode was the finale of Silo season 3 and was honestly disappointed that we wasted time on another nothing burger season... But I just realized there are still 2 more episodes to go... The pacing of this show is honestly ridiculous. 3 seasons in and it's still moving at snail pace. So much screentime wasted on irrelevant side plots. Every character has one emotional turmoil or the other that slows down the progress... Lanterns (2026) This might be a tedious, tedious watch. The vision James Gunn has had for DC since he rose to the helm looked so bold and good on paper, but they haven't exactly translated into proper execution. I don't think there has been a single DC project since he took over that has stuck the landing. Enter Lanterns. I was genuinely excited for this one, but that excitement came with a caveat, seeing that they hired Damon Lindelof as the showrunner. I mean, this man could turn a kids' show into some political allegory 😩. After seeing the first episode, I don't even know what to feel. It just feels like the show is struggling to figure out what it wants to be. It feels more like a True Detective wannabe masquerading as a superhero show, when obviously it should be the latter. The show doesn't know if it should be a goofy cop-buddy show or a plainly political one. This struggle with identity is the most glaring problem with the show, and it stems from a showrunner wanting to imprint his scent on the show while relegating the source material to the background. I have a theory that the reason they named it Lanterns and not Green Lanterns is so they can shape it however they see fit. I came in for an intergalactic superhero show, and I'm hearing "go back to your country" tropes, "girl boss" tropes, diversity tropes... like, what are we even doing here? The characters are annoying to a fault. I'm currently rooting for none of them. The sheriff is chief among them. I hate how Hal Jordan was going back and forth with her just to get time with that alien when he literally has the power of the Lantern. I guess this is just a way for the show to have enough material to fill a one-hour episode runtime. Kyle Chandler seems like the only actor that wants to be on the show. I'm not a huge fan of Aaron Pierre's acting...it feels too flaccid. I shouldn't have this many think pieces to talk about after just one episode, but the episode has given me a lot to talk about. I just hope the high ratings aren't simply because it portrays a current political trend. I hope the other episodes allow the show to establish its true identity. 1 Like

pu7pl3:He and the sheriff don't get along and that's ok. Everyone isn't supposed to kiss his a55 because he's GL. He's the one who deliberately pissed off those guys at the bar. He wasn't taking the judge and the court seriously. Asides from the meta aspect, he deserved the reactions he got in-show. |

I hope this is not a spoiler? I didn’t expect Lioness Season 3 will be looking interesting without our main girl but still I need more scenes of her. While I’m waiting for her, Kyle is the new best character I’m looking forward to see and every decision he make this Episode 4 is the best. Let see what Kyle will do in Episode 5 |

Season 3 is not actually slow since we are getting 2 stories told at the same time IMO. Ive been enjoying this season alot . S2 was slow cos it was mostly about her in another silo but theres more progression to the story in this season Baddestguyp: 1 Like |

Gidah:The storyline about the past has been disappointing. It's insanely slow and the reveals being that the Silos were just built as a backup in case a threat occurs and not because there was an imminent threat was disappointing...but who knows, there might still be a twist coming there... I don't even see why they need the guy...genuinely don't see what he adds to their plan... Apparently his idea of using 50 machines to build 50 Silos was somehow "brilliant". The current day situation is more interesting...but I don't see why Juliette and Simmons were put in the same cell...putting two colluders together isn't a smart plan unless its intentional. How did the Algorithm fail to kill the two who went outside is beyond me. One was shot once, the other wasn't even shot at all. And the Orla Kent side story they spent half the season on leading just to a reveal of an elevator? That is disappointing and a waste of time, unless the elevator has some future use e.g accessing judicial and blocking the pipes or something. But who knows, the final two episodes might offer some good payoff to the plotpoints in the season. Let's wait and see... |

Fro5t:Why did the sheriff not get along with him? All he asked for was a chance to talk to the guy and he has more experience than her obviously. She even went ahead to say he wasn't fearless he was just alone. Even if he wanted to pick a fight with the bar guys why would they be willing to go head on with him despite knowing who he was? It doesnt make any sense. Hal Jordan is the most respected Green Lantern and the show gave him none of that exceptthe little autograph he was signing at that diner. 1 Like |

Lanterns ep2 was a bit better than ep1, i think it'll keep improving as time goes on. Shooting Hal even when his ring power is down is crazy work. Jon was impressive keeping that bird alive too. 1 Like |

pu7pl3:Before this second episode aired, I was going to say let's wait for the show to shed more light and, as we can see, I would've been right. She's blocking Hal because the situation in the town is complicated and she doesn't want him to complicate it further. And I don't even think that's the whole story. There's still more layers to uncover. For the guys in the bar, that's how men are. Respect is reciprocal and Hal was being disrespectful, deliberately I might add, so they returned that disrespect in kind. The show is the main thing disrespecting Hal here cos they've presented him as an annoying a55hole. I even find myself opposing him in some situations.
