The police command in Cross River says its operatives have arrested Okoi Obono-Obla, a former presidential adviser, over allegations of forgery and obtaining entry into the legal profession by false pretence.

In a statement on Thursday, Eitokpah Sunday, Cross River police spokesperson, said Obono-Obla was “lawfully arrested” on Thursday around Abuja Park, Ugep town, in Cross River state.

Sunday said the arrest was sequel to a petition submitted to the state commissioner of police over allegations bordering on “forgery and obtaining admission or professional qualification/entry into the legal profession by false pretence”.

The police spokesperson dismissed claims that the ex-presidential adviser was kidnapped by unidentified security operatives.

“The arrest was effected in accordance with extant laws and in the exercise of the constitutional and statutory powers of the Nigeria Police Force to investigate allegations of criminal conduct,” the statement reads.

Honestly, I don't see anything intelligent in what he said. Everybody knows that whenever a nigeria politicians steals, the next thing is to launder the money and convert it to clean money by buying houses, building estates, religiious investment, autoshop,etc......some open secret foreign accounts, buy houses in the western countries etc......it's an open secret......however, all of these corrupt politician always send their children abroad to get educated and pay highly so highly for them to get western education while Nigerians school languished in needs and infrastructure....

i know you will be part of the people who will be unable to understand that Cows are being used for money laundering. Many of you are all on X forming intellectuals but lack that depth

the cow business rely heavily on physical cash, a government official can steal funds and then buy lot of cows, they then mark these cows using names you cant trace, cows in Nigeria moves from places to places, when they move these cattle from one location to another, they mix with other cows, now you have cows you can not trace or know their location

Now, these cows goes to another market faraway from its original market, it can be sold to any individual and no one will know where it came from, the official gets clean cash when it is sold, you get your cow for meat or breeding

he is sharing his personal experience about things he has seen and observed, he might not be conventional but i learnt new stuff listening about our security agencies and how fulani communication system and how they work, i will use those info to protect myself

If the government isn't responsible for the insecurity in the country they should have ended it long ago but they are benefitting from it in so many ways. Vdm is 💯 right in all he said

Please who is the unlearned here? Vdm is a graduate of business admin from Lagos State University, has been an advocate for justice and have had great positive impact on the lives of many Nigerians affecting his generation positively.
