A Russian military lieutenant colonel was killed in a car explosion in St. Petersburg, the local news outlet Fontanka reported Thursday.

The blast occurred around 10 a.m. local time near a supermarket in the Sushary neighborhood. The officer’s wife was also in the car and badly injured, Fontanka reported.

Preliminary reports indicate that an IED exploded inside the vehicle.

Law enforcement authorities did not immediately comment on the incident.

Some people are mocking Russia in this war. You guys have forgotten how Americans and the entire nato failed to beat ragtag Afghanistan. Or their failures in Vietnam. By the way, men are becoming extinct in Ukraine.

Y they are not reclaiming territories and seems they have accepted their faith. Russia seems to just be holding the line till Ukraine is out of options.
