Iran’s Leaders Acknowledge Economic Toll Of War, Pledge Diplomacy, Defence by obedience4(op): 11:46am On Aug 29
Iran’s leaders have acknowledged the mounting economic damage of six months of war with the United States, with the president saying foreign trade has shrunk by more than a third under US sanctions and a naval blockade

The admissions came on Saturday as Tehran signalled it would not back down, pledging to withstand US pressure, pursue diplomacy and maintain what it says is control over the Strait of Hormuz.

The government said addressing the economic fallout was now a central focus, including curbing inflation, creating jobs and gradually reducing dependence on the dollar.

President Masoud Pezeshkian told state media that exports and imports had slumped nearly 35 percent because of sanctions and the blockade of Iranian ports.

He said Iran had nonetheless managed to sell about 90 million barrels of oil during the short-lived Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Washington in June, when oil sales were briefly permitted
.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, who has not been seen publicly since the US and Israel launched the war on February 28 with an attack that killed his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, called on the government to tackle the hardship.

“There is the need to seriously address the chain of economic and livelihood challenges, such as inflation, unemployment, management of prices and the market for goods and services,” read a written statement attributed to Khamenei.

Annual inflation hit 66 percent last month, and residents in Tehran told Al Jazeera the war had upended daily life.

Before the war, I didn’t work. Since the war, I’ve had to find a job to help support my household,” said Maryam. “Everything has become so expensive.”

Omid, who runs a food business, said trade had dried up as rents rose: “We can barely afford to pay our workers.”

Diplomacy and defence
In a statement on Saturday, the government described diplomacy and defence as “two complementary, coordinated and inseparable wings” for protecting national interests and territorial integrity, saying it would pursue both in a balanced manner.

Al Jazeera’s Sinem Koseoglu, reporting from Tehran, said the government was promoting a message of unity.

[b[Pezeshkian has called for dialogue and a less confrontational relationship with neighbouring countries, saying none of them ruled over the other, while the supreme leader has urged domestic unity and the preservation of social cohesion, she said.[/b].

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani met Iranian leaders in Tehran on Thursday, stressing the importance of returning to open shipping through the strait. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described the talks as “creative”.

Iran’s military, meanwhile, struck a defiant note, with army commander-in-chief Amir Hatami telling the Fars news agency that although the “enemy” had tried to destroy Iran’s drone and missile capabilities, its stockpile had been fired “with the utmost intensity until the last moment”.

On Friday, Acting Defence Minister Majid Ibn Reza said Iran had “surprises” in store: “Everyone, and especially the enemies, should know that they will become aware of Iran’s surprises in due time,” according to the Tasnim News Agency

The balls of the Supreme Leader and Iranian leaders are fully in the Hands of Trump and he is ready to squeeze it until the very last drop of Spermatozoa is extracted...

Una Neva see anything.

War start, una Rush go block the Strait of Hormuz.

Now, we don block una blockade.

Blocking to Blocking, God no go vex

The Strait is now known as the Strait of Trump. A new American Territory.

If dem born that Supreme Leader well, he should order his boys to export Iranian Oil or goods through the Strait of Trump.

The half dead Supreme Leader cannot give such orders because he is not in control of the Strait of Trump.

Operation Economic Isolation will prove to be more powerful than Airstrikes and boots on the ground.

Iran will never have Nuclear weapons. When they are ready to hand over their enriched Uranium, then Trump will be ready to listen to them.

God Bless Donald J Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu Forever

God Bless America and Israel Forever 🇺🇸🇮🇱🇺🇸🇮🇱🇺🇸🇮🇱🇺🇸🇮🇱🇺🇸🇮🇱

This war is unlikely to end permanently unless one of two things happens:
1. The political calculations in Washington change, possibly after the next U.S. elections—a factor that is largely beyond Iran’s control.

2. More importantly, the United States and Iran return to the negotiating table and reach a compromise.

The economic war is hurting Iran far more than the United States. While America also faces financial and political costs from the conflict, ordinary Iranians are bearing the heavier burden through sanctions, inflation, shortages and economic isolation.

At some point, Tehran must consider whether this confrontation is economically sustainable. Military resistance may preserve national pride and strategic leverage, but a prolonged economic war can gradually weaken a country from within—especially when ordinary citizens are paying the highest price.

The most realistic solution remains diplomacy. Both sides should use the earlier June MOU as a starting point, address its weaknesses and negotiate a more durable agreement.

Anytime Iranian - Nairalanders say they are winning, simply know that they are losing sleep, crying and feeling deep pain over the physical, economic, structural and emotional pummeling they have been receiving in the hands of the Americans and Israelis.

They and their proxies always run out of food and supplies, but they never run out of weapons. Is that not strange?

Your last paragraph refers.

There are two issues that must be resolved, which are the contentious issues to the Iranians:

- that they must not possess nuclear weapons
- that they must ensure that their proxies are disarmed.

The world is truly evolving, with science striving to make life more excellent, bringing nations together and trade serving to make economies grow. Unfortunately, rather than fix their country, the Iranians persist to develop weapons of mass destruction to the detriment of their citizens and endangering citizens in the nations where they have proxies.

Each time the Iranians appear to have an agreement, notice that they are weak positions and only use such agreements to buy time and wait for another day of war.

The war is definitely not to the advantage of the Iranians. Their economy is near total collapse. Even if permanent agreement is achieved, who will pay for reconstruction in Iran? The Israelis, with a far stronger economy are fixing their nation, but the Iranians are not able, seeing that war is just at the corner.

The solution should be diplomacy, but looking at the disagreements between the political leadership and IRGC, when will they put their acts together and honestly agree to put an end to it?

The whole is experiencing economic damage and not peculiar to Iran. They have been through it for over 40 years and economic woes is not new to them.

They just need hold a little longer and the world economy will fold.

Europe already having energy crisis and winter is approaching. The US has less than 45 days of resrves left.

Iran will never fold. They have ALL the cards. Not even with a China strongly behind them and same time happens to be her biggest trade partner.
