Then comes the political leap: “399 pages is a book! What did Tinubu do to warrant 399 pages?”

Slow down.First, the public August 28 court notice does NOT say the FBI delivered “a 399-page Tinubu criminal dossier” to Judge Beryl Howell.

It confirms that confidential, ex parte, in-camera declarations were hand-delivered to the judge so the FBI can justify disputed REDACTIONS and WITHHOLDINGS. The 399-page figure and dramatic description of their contents are presently being promoted by Von Batten-Montague-York — Atiku's registered $1.2 million Washington lobbying firm.

That does not automatically make the number false. It means ATTRIBUTE IT CORRECTLY.

Second, “responsive record” does not mean “399 pages proving Tinubu trafficked heroin.”

FBI files naturally contain laboratory reports, informants, surveillance, grand-jury material, controlled purchases, financial records and investigative techniques concerning the INVESTIGATION AS A WHOLE.

Until the documents are released, nobody can honestly tell us how many of those 399 pages describe Tinubu personally, merely mention him, duplicate other records, discuss other suspects, or concern investigative procedure.

And the FBI itself—not Tinubu—is currently arguing that some information must remain withheld because disclosure could expose investigative techniques or endanger individuals.

Then comes the funniest line: “399 pages is a book.” Indeed. So is a telephone directory.

PAGE COUNT IS NOT A CONVICTION.

The FBI investigation was real. The $460,000 civil forfeiture was real. FBI records are real. But after thirty-three years, the missing documents remain remarkably simple: No Tinubu criminal indictment. No Tinubu drug-trafficking trial. No Tinubu criminal conviction.

So release whatever American law says should be released. Let Nigerians read it.

But until then, please don't convert 399 responsive pages into 399 pages of guilt.

The constitution allows you to aspire for any post 10yrs after serving the sentence of a criminal conviction, if at all he was convicted of a crime then, it's already 30yrs

For the sake of enlightenment, the US plea bargaining in drug cases does not exonerate anyone from conviction, it only commutes or reduces the sentences. So, if Tinubu had a plea bargaining, he would still have been convicted but would have had his sentences reduced.
