Iran is a trouble maker who knows they can't fight their opponent, the best bet is to threaten the opponent's friends that have nothing to do with their predicament just because the opponent's friends are a bit weak militarily.

To them that's the best bet to fight, if they try to shoot at the us mainland that's the end of the Iranian regime they know. Th US only sent two aircraft carrier , they have a total of 11 including other helicopter carrier, Iran knows they can't escalate it to the US the only thing is face the Gulf Nation and let everyone burn.
