Drone Views Of 10,000 Hectare Enugu Tribu Songhai Farns by Tabithatim(op): 6:28am On Sep 09
NEW: Drone views of the 10,000 hectare Enugu Tribu Songhai Farms at Obunofia Ndiuno, Ezeagu LGA, a public-private partnership between the Enugu State Government, Tribu Limited and Songhai Sustainable Initiative in Nigeria, showing the tremendous progress made in the revitalisation of the once dormant agricultural estate.

A long-abandoned farm is being rapidly transformed into a productive, integrated agricultural hub capable of driving food production, creating jobs and strengthening our state’s agricultural and agro-industrial economy.

Kudos to Governor Peter Mbah, the business innovator, wealth creator and turnaround expert, for unlocking the enormous potential of this vast agricultural asset.

the reason projects like this don't work is because, when people see govt in it everyone tries to steal their own part...

And food production is not that profitable , when there are no storage or processing facilities.. So they end up rubbing at a loss.. Expenditure becomes bigger than income, and in a short while they fold
Re: Drone Views Of 10,000 Hectare Enugu Tribu Songhai Farns by Chegesnd: 7:11am On Sep 09
Though the guvnor is doing well but in more serious countries, this can never be showcased as a govt project. Private individuals can do more than this.

However, it's good that there's work somewhere for these idle Data Boys causing nuisance all over social media spaces.

If u want to criticise, do it with fact and don't be sentiment. We know how much they said they want to use to renovate kwara hotel. Hotel that bukola leased out when he saw it that some people are using it to enriched themselves. This current government want to lease it out also to mm before, but when train enter their mist, he cancelled it.

The impact of this farm functioning will be massive for Enugu state.
Unfortunately, the clueless ones in the North, most especially North Central sees nothing good in development

Infact I'm impressed, God bless bless Enugu governor and God bless Tinubu. Nobody ever believe somebody down SE can think of this. When you have a visionary leader though it may be a bit difficult moment but the rainy day is surely ahead.

All these sudden development is what atiku and obi want to stop and return us to made in China and made in dubai nation but God has shamed them.

I remember when the news of acquiring the massive land came up few weeks ago same obi supporters who are enemy of progress called it audio, now is this audio? Is this AI? Don't worry before you all knows it a child who is in primary school or JSS1 now will ends up as your governor, senators, billionaires and you losers will be here insulting Tinubu, shouting audio and AI and destiny has left you behind and you are finished

Op, do you even know what 10,000 hecters is?
Is it this modest development by a whole state government you are quickly celebrating? Even my paddies farm, an ex telecoms staff is better than this place but still struggling.
Nigerians, every small thing you hear them clap, Alhaji will say blablablu, your hear clapping.
Op, I know you will say it is a multi billion naira farm employing thousands of enugu people abi?
Oya clap.

Someone should tell us what these facilities are. I guess the round ones are fish ponds, the shed is pig farm, etc. I may be wrong.

Looks well planned though but we need more functional commercial farms to ease insecurity.

Yes ooo. I appreciate this and it's a very good development but The problem we have concerning things like this is continuity, we view all things with politics not minding the money involved and the benefits. Tsonga farm was abandoned by the next governor, up lawal water project was abandoned by the next governor, tinapa was abandoned by the next governor... Almost all states have such, most especially once it's another political party that emerges. This act is very wrong cos it waste resources despite most of the money used are from loan.

Songhai has been around in Nigeria for quite a while now. I remember them doing oil palm in Criss-River, Plantain and Bananas in Rivers and like someone said, in Kwara and a couple of other places. Now Enugu.

Really haven't followed up to check how successful these partnerships have been particularly across various governments in each of the places of operations.

Does anyone know in practical terms.

SATANICALLY:
In a 2018 interview, Peter Obi said he invested $20 million in International Breweries on behalf of Anambra state as a governor.

Obi’s claim was in response to questions on economic development, Anambra politics and his presidential ambition.

“… Anambra state is the single-highest shareholder in that facility. I invested in it, over $20 million,” Obi had said.

“It is worth almost $100 [million] today. That’s what government should do.”

TheCable had previously fact-checked some of the claims.

Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra, also debunked a recent statement ascribed to him regarding the investment.

International Breweries (IB) Plc is a subsidiary of the world’s largest brewer, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) — a multinational drink and brewing giant based in Leuven, Belgium.

In its 2021 audited financial statement, the company said it holds 43 percent economic interest in International Breweries Plc, a publicly listed company in Nigeria.

According to a report by The Nation, AB InBev merged its Nigerian operations under a single corporate entity in 2017. It had three indirect Nigerian subsidiaries — International Breweries Plc, Intafact Beverages Limited and Pabod Breweries Limited. SABMiller Nigeria Holdings BV — another subsidiary of AB InBev — was also a major stakeholder in Intafact and Pabod.

ANAMBRA’S INVESTMENT

In a statement made available to TheCable on Tuesday, Ifeatu Onejeme, Anambra’s commissioner of finance, confirmed that Peter Obi’s administration invested the sum of N1,955,535,247.00 (an equivalent of approximately $12,616,356.43 at the then average CBN exchange rate of N155.00/$1) in Intafact Beverages Limited, a green-field brewery set up in Onitsha by SABMiller Breweries of South Africa in 2012.

Onejeme added that the state government still holds 407,321,264 ordinary shares of International Breweries Plc in exchange for the Intafact Beverages Limited investment.

“Based on the NGX closing price of N5.50 as of 20/6/22, these shares were valued at N2,240,266,952 on that date,” the statement reads in part.

“Based on the Central Bank of Nigeria I&E exchange rate of N415.75/US$1.00 on same June 20, 2022, this investment was valued at an equivalent of approximately US$5,388,495.37 (and at N604/$1.00 parallel market rate, only US$3,709,051.24).”

Why should God bless Tinubu for hiking petrol price instead of crashing it as he promised, while stealing the subsidy savings money that he said would be used to fix roads?

What Tinubu and APC can’t destroy does not exist.
11 years of change and 3 years of reform with subsidy removal TWICE along with huge debt cum tax burden on people, why should we have roads worse than when PDP gave us cheap petrol and cheap dollars without piling up debt?

The Shonga project is different from this
Shonga has different farms, about 18 producing different produce, maize, soyabeans, rice,
One was even producing yoghurt from cows imported from Holland
Don't know their status for now but it was a very nice project then
Saraki gave them all they needed, even loans for their equipment, the farmers were white Zimbabwe farmers that Mugabe expelled, it was rumoured Sarakis mom has some Zimbabwe connection that was why he accommodated them in kwara

You know absolutely nothing about what you just wrote about. Just sentiments and politics. I worked with the company that managed both projects and I can tell you that long before the current administration, both outfit (the farm and the hotel) have become nothing to write home about. Politics and sentiments should not get in the way of the truth
