Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has revealed that he was once paid to pretend to be a cripple during a staged church miracle while he was still a student.

Solade said he was recruited to act as a cripple during the service and was paid for his participation.

“I have been used for a miracle then, when I was not popular. I acted as a cripple, they paid, I used the money to drink, then I was a student,” he said.

The actor refused to reveal the identities of those involved, saying they are still alive.

His revelation has sparked fresh discussion about staged miracles and the authenticity of some miracle claims in religious gatherings.

I always wonder if there was really a genuine miracle of healing. Has anyone here seen any miracle that made a crippled to walk or a blind to see? I mean a real life scenario? I doubt if there's any.

Yes, it is something I hear that happens.

I'm not an expert , and this is not meant to be definitive theology, and yes God does heal people....however, a lot of christians are hooked on miracles, less on becoming what God wants them to be.

Becoming what God wants you to be is hard. Because it means accepting a lot of awfulness that you won't like. A lot of christians love to quote the bit about how Paul went to third heaven, but won't quote the bit about the thorn in the flesh.

Perhaps, if we realize that we should rely more on God, and less on a miracle that would make us self reliant again, and reduce our shame or something, we may become better christians

But a lot of people rely on miracle watching...meanwhile there is no evidence of christian miracle workers moving into and emptying hospital wards, and cemeteries. Because, at the end of the day, it's all about the spectacular...entertainment. God did not come to us to entertain us and to give us goodies...

NIgeria was suffering way before Osibanjo, and it will continue to suffer because most of you think that a good economy is in the government sharing you money and free petrol and electricity and school, like the Saudis, not in being a productive country that produces for the world.

That is the attitude of most on this site. You rightly identify that the tinubu government is not doing well, but your solution is to share more money, and get more subsides, because'we are an oil producing naiton'...meanwhile the Chinese and the Koreans, who in 1960 were behind us, I'M not joking...used what they had to make things the world needed, and thus are developed.
