What industry is in Abia state ?

Which heavy industry is operating in Abia ?

All those tiny dingy sweat shop factories do not even require heavy loads to operate.

Those crooked fake goods manufacturers are even the ones who bypass meters and don't pay for consumed electricity.

You can see how they can lie for Africa.

I already challenged him over that news article he posted verbatim which he is stylishly trying to blame for the power outage affecting the entire State.

As if the power line only transmits to Abia state alone.

Yorubasarecurse:
Electricity transmission along the Kainji-Birnin Kebbi corridor has been disrupted after strong winds and heavy rainfall reportedly caused the collapse of a major transmission tower. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, saying the damage affected the 330kV Kainji-Birnin Kebbi transmission line. The company subsequently declared force majeure on the affected line, citing the natural disaster responsible for the damage. Transmission Line Trips Twice According to TCN, the affected line, identified as 2KNJ-BRK1, tripped at about 10:44pm on Monday, September 7. An attempt was made to restore the line at approximately 11:07pm, but the line tripped again. Following the second incident, TCN deployed linesmen from its Birnin Kebbi Sub-Region to inspect the transmission corridor and establish the cause of the fault. The inspection team later discovered that Tower T367 had collapsed. > “Preliminary findings indicate that the collapse of the tower was caused by heavy winds and rainstorms experienced in the area,” TCN said. TCN Begins Restoration Efforts The collapsed tower has disrupted the transmission of bulk electricity through the 330kV Kainji-Birnin Kebbi corridor. TCN said it had commenced arrangements to move personnel, equipment and other required materials to the affected location for the reconstruction of the tower. The company said the exercise is aimed at restoring normal bulk electricity transmission along the corridor as quickly as possible. Alternative Route Maintains Power Supply Despite the damage to the transmission line, TCN said it had been able to maintain electricity transmission to Sokoto through an alternative route. According to the company, the Talata Mafara-Sokoto corridor was receiving electricity through another transmission route from the Kaduna-Mando axis. The alternative arrangement utilises the 132kV Zaria-Funtua-Gusau transmission line, helping to maintain power supply to affected areas while restoration plans are being implemented. TCN Apologises to Consumers TCN apologised to electricity consumers and other stakeholders for the disruption caused by the incident. The company assured the public that it was taking steps to restore normal bulk electricity transmission on the affected Kainji-Birnin Kebbi corridor as soon as possible. Access Premium News

Why don't you shut your mouth up if you don't have anything sensible to contribute here..instead bringing up more confusion with this story you posted with so much confidence....there's no light in aba for more than 2 months now and you're talking about a transmission that fell two days ago

The much celebrated Aba power plant touted to provide 24/7 electricity in Aba, Abia state has become a source of pain and anguish to Aba people as it has collapsed and left the people and businesses in Aba and environs without electricity for the past three months. Aba people are now begging to be reconnected to the national grid as they label Aba power a scam.
Yes, it is because aba power is not allowed to charge a cost reflective tarrif.

As a result, debts have piled up,and there is no light. Gas supplier is not agreement anymore

It's Tinubu's fault though.

Tinubu is keeping price controls on electricity. That is hampering Aba electricity and other discos ability to make a profit. Which in turn is hampering the ability of the gas suppliers to supply them with electricity due to the fact that there isn't enough cash for the gas suppliers to fix the machinery they need to fix.

Hence no light.

I have said several times that until Nigerians are ready to pay a cost reflective tarrif form power, we are going to have power supply issues.

What's even scary about Abia power is that they are not eligible for subsidy payments form government. Not as if that would make any difference, as the discos are owed trillions in naira in subsidy payments .

See this one.

The FG is subsidizing GENCOs so you can have cheap energy.

Aba Power is still benefiting from that same subsidy in the form of discounted gas supplies but the company is not able to meet up because the people of Aba are bypassing meters and the state govt that had an agreement to help subsidize the electricity need of the state is not doing so.

Also, Aba Power can not even afford to buy power from the National grid to supply to Abia state because they will still run at a loss owing to same meter tampering and the state govt not paying their own huge debt.

I wonder the kind of sh1thole your Biafra will be like without Nigeria. This is why I want you to have that Biafra so you can suffer.

.
The problem is, the subsides are not being paid on time, and FG still owes subsides. TO the tune of 3 trillion according to the government's own figures.

And this is an ongoing problem because government does not let any discos to raise money by allowing them charge cost reflective tarrifs that would cover production and gas costs completely

IN May for example, all discos collected revenue of ₦208.15 billion in May 2026, while receiving power valued at ₦328.95 billion from the grid..

That means that discos cannot pay the gencos all their money, meaning they owe money.

And this has been going on since 2013. And when it was government owned before then

The issue is cost reflective tarrif.

Now, oga, if you ran a business selling bread, and you needed to sell that bread at N1000 per loaf to make a profit of N200 which would enable you to cover your production cost and still have somrthing left over...would you agree to government setting your price at N200 per loaf, and promising you a subsidy that would never be paid on time...meaning you lose money

Shouting at me and abusing me and calling me biafra does not change anything. Infact, one thing that tinubu, obi, atiku and other supporters agree on is that price controls and subsides should remain on electricity, even with the bad outcomes we have.

Infact if you want to get your average Nigerian to agree on one thing, it is subsidy on electricity. It must not go, despite the issues it is casuing our power supply. Your tinubu wants to remove it, but he is saying he wont increase prices, which amounts to saying subsidy stays.

If you want to abuse me after reading this, good. But it is the truth.

Story

Is it only Aba Power that is a GENCO operating in Nigeria ?

Why have the rest not shut down operations ?

Aba power is insolvent because despite FG subsidy on gas supply , they still can not make a profit because Aba people are bypassing and stealing power and the govt is not settling it's humongous bills it owes the plant.

The Aba power cannot be talking about financial inability when there are many banks looking for businesses to finance. They should tell their customers the truth about the black out.
It's not profitable to invest in power generation
in a state like Abia that power theft and debt payenet is high.

That's the truth.

Aba power that can not collect debt owed them by Abia people and is going bankrupt despite FG subsidizing gas supply to the plant but your obidient still blamed Tinubu for maintaining subsidy for GENCOs which Aba power is part of and benefiting from as the reason Aba power can not provide electricity for 3 months running.
