IBB just carried an oil block and gave to this woman on a platter of gold. She became the richest woman in Africa because of that. Now instead of her to reciprocate by fulfilling her obligations, she is flying private jets without paying for customs duties These people are inherently greedy and wicked. How much is customs duty that Mrs. Alakija cannot pay for it? |

After escaping the hand of government over ownership of the oil bloc, madam and her company come do something that put them in the hand of the same government. Never do something that would lead thee into hand of government. Government gives and government taketh away, blessed be the name of the government, lol. |

nurey:How Nigerians always talk about sharing money is beyond me. She is only efficient at using the opportunity life threw at her. Asking the rich to share their wealth is mirage that poor intellectual thinks will solve poverty. Wealth is grown by financial management, wise decisions and making the best use of opportunities. It is a virtue. Putin is rich because he steals money from treasury. He has no receipts for earnings. Elon musk is wealthy because he created pay pal which he sold, created Tesla, bought X, own a space company. Same goes for Microsoft, Facebook,Apple. They have receipts. They employee people, advance society, make life better through services they deliver. People like Putin burns cash. People like Elon Musk use money to buy assets which helps build societies. Giving the poor more money doesn't make them rich. It has never solved any problem in history. Politicians stay in power to steal money. They are not wealth creator. Nigeria has many rich people who have no receipts, and no asset to their name. They just get to power and build a group of body guards that help them retain power. Wealth creation is a virtue, it is the ability to add value to substance, making it better than you met it, so that it changes life. Then get receipts for value creation. The Woman is the not the first person to be given such opportunity, others failed to build their. Stop wishing to share someone's hard earn estate. That's what transform people to thieves, bandits and armed robbers. Learn to add value to society and businesses, then you earn receipts. |

How can you charge $6.7m as duties payable on a $75m plane? Nigeria Customs DO NOT understand trade facilitation. What people need to realise about the ultra-rich is that they will avoid paying even for basic groceries like toothpaste if there is a loophole they can exploit. If Togo or Senegal are offering significantly lower import taxes on luxury goods like private jets, that is where the ultra-rich will go to register their jets. |
