Citing US reserve here depict you dont have the intellectual properties for the discuss

as a matter of Fact of Facts US subsidized fuel with tens of billion thereby making the price lesser price than int'l market

2ndly, US have 130 operating refineries that speaks volume of excess production and if you understand the designs of the most refinery you will know why they are largiest net importer of crude. let me break it down for you

Us crude is light crude, which is not suitable for most of there refineries across the country so they have to import
The fact that imported crude is sancrosanct to most us refinery operation defeat the Crude subsidy to locals model, that is why they subsidize the end product.

You see why i say you dont know what you are saying
In all the epistle you composed! You still never explained why the war in Iran is affecting gas prices!

You composed a novel but still couldn’t boldly spell out why international prices has to dictate for the IS despite reserves.

The argument against restoring the fuel subsidy misdiagnoses how a nation’s natural resources should serve its economy.True economic intelligence means leveraging our domestic wealth to insulate our vulnerable citizens from global market shocks not exposing them to it. Fuel in Nigeria is not a luxury; it is the core infrastructure driving transport, agriculture, and small businesses.Removing the subsidy without functional local refining capacity is just a regressive tax that plunges millions into poverty. The actual fiscal problem was never the relief given to citizens, but rather systemic corruption, crude theft, and the failure to manage state revenues. Fix the leakages, don't starve the masses

The problem with whoever composed the gibberish is that, he/she does not know how trade works.

If a US who has massive reserves is having high energy prices, then you ask yourself why they cannot replicate same the writer stated.

Are energy prices really high in the US when compared with the minimum wage? Now, compare and contrast with Nigeria. The US also subsidises its agricultural sector heavily. For a poor and developing country that Nigeria is, Tinubu has no business removing subsidies for virtually all and every sector while simultaneously raising taxes just to please IMF. Tinubu floated the naira and yet, Nigeria has no comparative export advantage on any product. Atiku will bring back subsidy and if heaven falls, it falls!
Are you minding the guy, the US he cited still sunsidy Fuel and list of things govt actively subsidize is even more

When you go buy grocery in US you will know govt don over try subsidize food items, is it health or you enter public transport you will know govt hand they

its funny how some people think they can compare US to a nigeria where citizens are like orphan nd govt is dead

Most of us don't understand that the most viable way to get away from the abyss Nigeria has been in since 1960 is what President Tinubu has embarked on.
He is just a bold and determined man to have had the insight to do this in first term.
He would forever be remembered as the best President of Nigeria for the strong positive foundation he is building for Nigerians and Nigeria.
Yes,no pain,no gain.
Nigeria will be the greatest African nation before President Tinubu leaves in 2031.
You can take that to the bank.

Crude is an internationally priced commodity. If Brent is $105 and Atiku wants it to go to Dangote at $70, who pays the difference...and if he says...well Fed will eliminate all taxes that is due to the Govt...he cannot because the Presidency alone cannot make that decision. The States and LGAs are entitled to the funds from these accounts and it will reduce the funds coming to sub-nationals slowing development. If the argument is that low petrol prices will spur development...why has it not done so all these years?
Crude is not internationally priced. I don't know where some folks are getting this funny idea from. Subsidy was being removed as a first line charge from federation account and it never slowed any development. Rails, roads, schools etc were built while we had subsidy. Post subsidy we've not been able to complete any federal project. Subsidy removal has not accelerated development. Where are the XNG buses they promised for example

I want to act like I agree with you.

If we channel 50% of our crude oil output to major and modular refineries, we can get prices to 200/liter.

Now, here is the question!
For us to get those refineries I stated earlier, it means we selling dirt cheap.

If that’s welcomed, do you expect the FG to still keep up with responsibilities and improve on it? Do you still expect massive infrastructural development from same government?

Please let our population and energy demand be on the table when you answering questions.

Brainless epistle.
Bring back subsidy, get little reprieve, states go back to not paying salaries,ASUU goes back to strikes, soldiers go back to collecting #59,000 salary instead of #189,000,workers go back to collecting #30,000,Profs go back to collecting #800,000 monthly instead of #1.2millon and so on.
A lot more debt with few infrastructures that will eventually be abandoned as most previous govts have done then....
we go back to removing the subsidy because it is unsustainable and start fresh pain and agony that is if we don't fight war...
ASUU is already threatening to go on strike
Which infrastructure has been completed since subsidy was removed

Which money will Atiku use to pay for this crude oil?

After the States and LGs take their share of the money, he will now use Majority of what's left to pay for subsidy?

How will he pay Civil Servants?

How will he pay Pensioners?

How will he equip the Military?

How will he pay Contractors?
Are you saying govts were not doing all this before subsidy was removed
Last I checked contractors were cursing this govt out for owing them something we never saw when we had subsidy

they aren't high someone in the usa told me that a liter of fuel over there is 1.50 dollars at the time she told me .which is very affordable to them

Here what I see in this issue is OPEC laws govern domestic crude production nd refining if not
Then Nigeria need a policy to create another govt company or agency that pump the crude oil to local refineries at affordable price
because nnpc is taken from what it exporting selling it at intl price

Is a problem with Nigeria nd africa we haven't created our own domestic economy model to wrk along the global economy model

For example let look at the scenario if a USA or Europe scientist discovers egusi seed cures breast that there a massive demand for Nigeria melon seed .what that means is we can't cook or eat egusi affordably or e go too cost .bcosdollar don enter .them d govt will now be taking from what it earns from exporting egusi to subsidy egusi to make it cheap for us .no b one chance b that
Ibut if the govt Say ok only few agric farm go farm nd export it nd another system go handle domestic needs

We've tried something similar in the 1989s and it didn't work then.

Just like what Tinubu is doing with electricity now. Price controls . And we have light all day, lol. ( Sarcasm fully intended)

Result is the same .More borrowing

Plus Dangote is still importing crude. Is Atiku going to subsidise that too?

1. It not my job and i dont owe to explanations ..if you are ignorant about something find people that know

Int'l market price works on export & import traffic & availability, by common sense you can see strait of hormus have disrupted movement & numbers of vessel delivery daily

Difficulty & risk of vessel passing strait of hormus are charged .. nd added to Cost

Availability ; law of excess demand over throttled supply ..price must rise naw

these two factors can make int'l market price jump up ...these things are common sense

Countries that are oil producing & with refineries have wahala at these time cos they can sell at any price and not bound to int'l market

Check saudi, iran, russia, algeria they sell less than int'l market, where there is little challenge is export sales because of US /iran war

Look son, being abusive, and calling me tinubu boy does not change facts on the ground.

I have been opposing subsidy since 2011, when GEJ regime opened my eye. Back then, na GEJ Boy dem dey call me.

Look at it, crude is costing 100 dollars now per barrel. If government sells it at 50 dollars per barrel to refineries, that is a loss of revenue for government of 50 dollars per barrel. How dem go replace the money? Borrowing

Think before abusing people sometimes. Not everyone who opposes subsidy na tinubu boy. The same tinubu that is killing the electricity sector with subsidy na the person I go support.?

Think, oga, think.,

Atiku's chief bunkum spewer........go over to america and feel the pulse of the people on rising energy cost.......an average household will spend about $200 monthly on gasoline, most americans are heavily feeling the pinch too.

When has tinubu told you he has removed agric subsidies, show us what your gov is doing about sustainable subsidy policies for agriculture in their states.

Your atiku just spilled balderash up there, how can you say you want to subsidise and you won't regulate prices,do you even know how subsidy works.....you subsidise your supply to dangote, while govt revenues will be hemorrhaging badly, and dangote has the right to supply to anyone he wishes at his breakeven price which you can't determine......what manner of silly postulation is that.

If dangote needs prices to go up all he needs do is hoard and lie on Bureaucratic red tapism and you cant shot down his refineries or penalise him.......what your atiku posted up there was deliberately made into an epistle because he knows Nigerians won't be able to read and see the nuisance value in that statement.

had to deplete the foreign reserves to do that so you can keep importing all manner of rubbish while your local industries suffered, rinubu should keep subsidising the dollar by about a billion dollars monthly so you rich people can be sending your children to schools abroad while universities in Nigeria suffer from paucity of funds to do anything, even pay salaries so ASUU can keep going on strikes.......you can take your family on vacation abroad and gfs on shopping sprees whike the poor man doesn't even have good roads to take his farm produce to the market.

To show you tinubu govt floating the naira has even increased nigeria's net spend on foreign education to $2.5b as at 2025 as against $1.8b in 2022......imagine how much the govt would have needed to keep spending to subsidise that amount of usd.

is common sense but what happened?

He had to print almost #30 trillion (which was securitized and remain part of the debt some of you accused Tinubu of borrowing ) and when no one wanted to borrow him more money,he monitized Nigeria's oil for 5 years and left inflation at around 23% or so.

Don't forget the Tinubu family has stakes in crude blending plants in Malta.

That's why Nigeria and dangote has to buy Nigeria crude oil at international price from international middlemen.

That's why dangote can not beat the price of importers.

That's why Tinubu and his supporters support Iran and their terrorists in order to find something to blame for high oil prices. Whereas he could just reduce price of crude sold to dangote
