VDM dey there dey talk nonsense defending nonsense so she didn’t think to correct the lady it was to report her that she not from a particular tribe and got what she deserve they told her I don’t care if she is Igbo Hausa or Yoruba
She thought she was in Nigeria where she influence nollywood America seak talent not tribe
Here's the thing; the Igbo lady doesn't speak Egun, Omotola doesn't speak Egun as well, so what do you expect her to tell the Igbo lady? So if something is going wrong at a work place, we shouldn't speak up?

Re: Omotola Faces Backlash Over Experience With Igbo Actor In Hollywood (Video) by AerialMapper: 10:44am On Sep 13
So from what I understood…

They were providing background sounds perhaps for a movie and the Igbo woman was lamenting in Igbo rather shouting ewoooo which was not the local language fit for the production.

Omotola being a superstar in trying ensure accuracy in the production, rather than approach her Nigerian colleague and tell her to use the pidgin language or teach her what to say instead went to the African-American … perhaps not only to correct the error but to also be a notice-me and she was disappointed that her observation didn’t matter is in the end.

I saw a clip of her acting as an Igbo princess or whatever and she was murdering the language but there was no outcry about it or anybody asking why use her instead of a native actor… e reach her turn, she turn herself to historical gatekeeper

Hate is a profitable business, sadly. It creates viral trends/contents, political narratives and score a base in a divide. Division is a market.

you lie like omotola also the film is not about egun and yoruba only .have you watched the movie in question?
You're very, incredibly doIty, honestly. Is this just tribalism speaking, or are you genuinely this confident in your ignorance?

What's the name of the movie? Have you actually seen it? Which role or specific scene is she referring to? You seem to know exactly what she meant, even better than the person who was actually talking about it.

Or perhaps you were the movie's writer, director, and producer, and we just didn't know?

Why Was Omotola Trying to interfere With Another Actor’s Casting On Somebody Else’s Production?
She wasn't interfering, she made a suggestion by pointing out an error. If I am making a film about Chinese culture and history and unknown to me, I hired someone who can't speak Mandarin, and instead was using Japanese words, should I go ahead with the production when there's someone who speaks Mandarin in my crew even if someone pointed it out to me?

Those that have ruled what's their scorecard? Terrorism, poverty, high rate of insecurity, religious intolerance, fantastic corruption, low life expectancy, poor medicare, tribal hate, unpatriotism, tribal bigotry, weak institutions, criminal leadership, Islamic fundamentalism, high rate of out of school children, poor infrastructure, high rate of illiteracy, poor economic policies and execution, favoritism, high rate of electoral malpractices, production of subpar humans like the person I'm quoting, jungle justice, high rate of political thuggery in the western horn, high rate of Japa, etc.

You can add your own.

Since the monkeys overan the bus, have they been able to drive it?

Only people being deliberately obtuse will backlash her over this.
It's just disgusting and irritating how sentimental some people think...

She literally said the movie is about Yoruba and Egun, and somebody is there shouting “Ewo,” “egbwemo,” and other Igbo chants. What exactly is she supposed to do? Smile, keep quiet and pretend everything is fine because she’s an actor and does not want to trigger some people? WHO CARES!?

If the cultural setting is Yoruba, then why are you forcing another ethnic culture into it and expecting everyone to just shut up when they point it out?

And this is what annoys me about Nigerians. The moment someone raises a genuine cultural issue, some people start screaming “tribalism!” as if that word automatically ends the conversation.
Igbos and others please!!!
Not every disagreement is tribalism. Not every cultural correction is hatred. Not every time someone says, “This doesn't belong here,” are they attacking your tribe.

Stop forcing tribal sentiments into everything. It is exhausting, intellectually lazy, and frankly disgusting.
as in.. so annoying

They should put themselves in other people's shoes. Would they take it if they were the ones at the receiving end. A Yoruba coming to should oluwa oluwa on an international production that has to do with Ibo culture. We will lot hear the end of it.
Yorubas are not even lousy and disrespectful like that anyways

The Ibo lady wasn't the script writer or could speak either language very well

So how does it make sense to correct someone like that who was deliberately or unintentionally misleading the production crew because she knew they wouldn't know the difference?

Has Omotola ever tried to mix Yoruba with Ibo while acting in Nollywood? No.

You're the one now tribalising the issue.

Anyone can take on any role. It doesn't matter. What matters is that they try as much possible to portray the role accurately. In this case, the Ibo person was born in the diaspora and even struggle to speak the Ibo language very well.

The issue is about the mixing of Yoruba and Ibo, not why an Ibo person should be allowed to play the role of a Yoruba person.

Omotola wasn't against an Ibo person playing that role. She was against the misrepresentation of a major Nigerian language. That's all.
Leave story oga body too dey pepper una,
Someone said ewo in a yoruba movie, is ewoo a word or just reaction?
Someone says eyaahhh is it a language? All tribes say it due to one reason, it's not a language, let me buy data for u so u can play the video online and stop claiming what's not true,
Did morgan freeman not potray Mandela movie, was he speaking like South Africans,
Did South Africans complain,
Una go carry una wahala go disgrace una sef in USA
USA don't give a fnck , all they know is u are Nigerian

Re: Omotola Faces Backlash Over Experience With Igbo Actor In Hollywood (Video) by Originalsly: 12:04pm On Sep 13
Why would she be shocked? She should know better. When Nollywood movies were sweeping the US ... and she had celebrity status ... frequently visited the US and made appearances at the major movie distribution centers... did she have a problem with the movies tagged African Movies instead of Nollywood movies? ... or even Nigerian movies? In fact Nollywood was not used period. She should've learned that the Americans do not care about the details when it comes to African cultures. Same today with the music ... Afrobeats ... Athey can care less whether a song or artist is from Nigeria or South Africa.

The movie was a Hollywood movie ... Hollywood movies target American audiences who don't care about getting the language right .. so why should the producers care? Omotola needs to sit down if she doesn't want to tarnish her reputation.

See where your rulership has dragged the country to - infamy and shame. Yet you are trying to shade a certain group about their inability to secure rulership of the country. You should be ashamed.

When you travel abroad you need to understand the indigenous people's culture so you know how to act. Making those suggestions to the supervisor on her set, would have seemed rude, like she was trying to takeover the production (oversabi). She's was trying hard to maker herself important like "notice me". Anyway she should learn to keep quiet. Her dragging started brewing the moment she made her husband seem like a simp on TV. This was inevitable

CRIMINAL POLITICAL CAMPAIGN USING IBB NAME.
------‐--------------------------

You people and criminal political campaign for Tinubu.

Beware, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida will sue you for misrepresenting him on the social media.

Babangida has written that the 1966 military coup was Nigeria army coup by soldiers from many ethnic groups in Nigeria, not a coup by Igbo army officers.
Now see how you people designed a false speech with a photo of IBB on it, in your political campaign for Tinubu.

So if you and other Nigerians were given a job abroad to earn in dollars and one guy wasnt doing his perfectly, so instead of helping him to perfectly it (not do it for him) as your fellow naija guy, you would go and report him to be supervisor and suggest that he be replaced? That's snitchin man & black americans hate that thing

We will rule this country and you will hide your head in shame. Its paining you because you thought that the igbos would be the almajiri of Nigeria. You are pained because the igbos came to lagos after the war with nothing but worked hard and became something while you sat idly waiting for govt handouts and partying away your money & future. Now it's staring you in the face that an igboman may become president & its paining you because he's generally accepted?

Your analogy speaks to the ethnocentrism you people are always being accused of. By also making reference to Chinese and Japanese, two different nationalities, it also shows that you believe that Nigeria is a fusion of more than two different nationalities.
I would want to hear your opinion of omotola that made a living in igbo-themed movies using Japanese words (sic) when there are several people in the crew who speak mandarin (sic).
