Phil Foden produced the same amount of key passes (1) as Bruno Fernandes today. Phil Foden was sent off in minute 23. Bruno Fernandes played 95 minutes. Kikiki |

I love some of the takes on this thread. People really claim they know ball sha 😂. Those underestimating or hating on Maresca might be in for a surprise. The man gave us our best league finish and a trophy since the American owners took over, despite the squad and circumstances he had to work with. Put him in a more structured and well-run environment like City, where he’ll likely get the profile of players he wants, and I think he’ll do even better. I only won’t wish him well when he’s playing against us 😂. The way he left definitely leaves a sour taste, but the truth is, none of us really knows everything that happened, or had been happening behind the scenes. Sometimes, as fans, we also forget that players, coaches and everyone else in football are professionals building careers and trying to create better lives for themselves and their families. Loyalty matters, but career decisions are part of football too. As for Alonso, I’d advise everyone to temper expectations and give him time. We’ve had a lot of player exits, including some of our better players. You can’t keep changing the squad every summer and expect to build a title-winning team. If BlueCo continues with this policy of bringing in 7–8 new players every season while constantly moving others on, I don’t see how we build the stability needed to win the league. Hopefully, they’ve turned over a new leaf. Give it another two or three transfer windows, add quality and balance where necessary, but most importantly, KEEP our good players and allow a proper team to develop. Because good players will eventually want to leave if they don’t believe in the direction of the club. Alonso needs time, stability and a squad he can actually build on. Let’s hope the club gives him all three. |

FBS:It baffles me that this is rocket science to some of them. Balance is important, but outscoring your opponent is importanter |

I will assume Maresca was intentionally ragebaiting us with his inverted fullback nonsense he was doing here with Gusto as his tactical cheat. |

timbros:Who were the great defenders that won it for Spain? Laporte that conceded more than 50 goals for Bilbao? Porro that almost sent his team to relegation last season? Cubarsi that Estevao destroyed and conceded 3 goals against Chelsea last season? Cucurella that was part of the woeful defence at Chelsea? ![]() Now, who won the FIFA golden ball and what position did he play for Spain at that World Cup? Replace Rodri with academy player like you suggested, do you think Spain would have won that World Cup?. You have zero knowledge of this round leather game and strangely you type rubbish with confidence.

Jamiuokolaa:Nope. Replace Oyarzabal with jakujaku Jackson, your guess is as good as mine. Not forgetting that Yamal is top 3 RWF in the World. |

airmark:You deserve better knock for head for this nonsense wey you type here. Yamal was so fantastic with his one goal and zero assist in 8 games that Cubarsi (defender) won Best Young Player award in the World Cup. Why did Oyarzabal not win Player of the tournament instead of DM Rodri? |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 5:53am On Sep 14 |
Skimpledawg:If you don't mind, can you explain how outscoring your opponent is more important than balance? If balance is not that important, then why not field 11 attackers to camp in opposition half and score as many goals as possible. Make opponents dey score, no problem, but 11 attackers will surely outscore them all day. |

timbros:This question is irrelevant. Rodri, a midfielder, got the award and that’s enough to invalidate the nonsense you said that academy player would do a good job and win for a team with a better defence. Spain did not agree with that. |
