Dangote Begins Sale Of Refinery Shares To Nigerians At ₦525 (Video) by Prestar(op): 12:27pm On Sep 14
Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has commenced its public offer on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), with 4.1 billion new ordinary shares available to investors at N525 each.

Dangote Industries Limited President and Chief Executive Officer, Aliko Dangote, formally opened the offer on Monday by ringing the opening bell at the NGX trading floor in Lagos.

The N2.15 trillion offer marks the first time a refinery is being offered to investors on the Nigerian stock market in the NGX’s 66-year history.

The offer is open to retail and institutional investors, as well as eligible investors across Africa. Individuals can subscribe for a minimum of 10 shares, requiring N5,250 at the offer price.

The offer opened on September 14, 2026, and is scheduled to close on October 13, 2026, subject to the terms and conditions contained in the prospectus.

Dangote calls it ‘People’s IPO’

Speaking at the ceremony, Dangote described the offer as a move to expand public participation in the ownership of companies under the Dangote Group.

“We fully share all our prosperity with the people. That’s why we call this ‘People’s IPO’. We know the journey has actually just started.

“It’s not only about the refinery,” he said.

Dangote also disclosed that the group plans to list more of its companies on the Nigerian Exchange.

“We, as a group, will list every single company that will operate,” he said.

He added that the group could pursue listings on other international exchanges from Nigeria, while describing the country and Africa as the foundation of its expansion.

“From this exchange, then we can go to any other place.

“So, Nigeria and Africa is our base. We want to make sure that we join our continent,” Dangote said.

Major milestone for Nigeria’s capital market

The public offer allows Nigerians and other eligible investors to acquire an equity stake in the Dangote Refinery, located in the Lekki Free Zone, Lagos.

The refinery has been positioned as a major project in Nigeria’s effort to expand domestic refining capacity and reduce reliance on imported petroleum products.

The ceremony was attended by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, President and Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group, Umaru Kwairanga, Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Zenith Bank founder Jim Ovia, and other business and capital market leaders.

Buy and upadte your CV.
Part owner of Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals.
However, I'll wait a while before putting my money.
I'm just not comfortable with the whole hype surrounding this IPO.
Goodluck to the early investors anyways.
I hope any investment will be worth it in the long run though.

As expected most of the platforms involved in the sales are crashing already.

I was in banks on Friday to make inquiries on the IPO, funny enough most of the bankers aren't show of the modality of the sales of the IPO. Bamboo had been crawling since morning because of traffic of people trying to buy into this, they aren't prepared for this huge traffic.

Well, let them put their acts together and see to the fact that most Nigerians can buy into it. It's possible after a few days now u will hear that all the shares had been subscribed and so, no more share to buy. Naija will be great someday.

The early birds did not pay 525# per share during the private placement..

So expect the price to drop below the IPO price eventually before rallying up again..

The Man Dangote seems to have the Midas touch.

So this is a good buy

Here is what will happen.
They will sell more than they want. Then after few months, they will return half of your money after using it for business.

Two things are happening at the same time. Dangote IPO is being listed: Dangote is selling hope to investors using his established brand name, without any fundamnetals for the refinery. Nothing to say if its future is already priced in or not. Nobody knows if the next governement policy will liquidate the IPO value even before its share lisitng on the ngx

2. Investors are liquidating from already established fundamental brands to chase on the hope that Dangote is selling.

After being a Nigerian all my life, i think i know how this is gonna end. We shaa like hope in this country.

This is a significant development for Nigeria’s economy. If Nigerians can buy shares in the Dangote Refinery at ₦525, it could give ordinary citizens an opportunity to participate directly in one of Africa’s biggest industrial projects and potentially benefit from its future growth. However, investors should carefully review the offer terms, risks, and expected returns before committing their money.

Funny enough, some bots online will come to support him.

In other words, for those who don't understand what he is saying, "Dangote Refinery can be worth more than 10X its value after 2 years."

Even our online "forex" boys cannot make a company have this value in two years, no matter the magic they hammer.

Classic pump and dump strategy... There's no way in hell a Nigerian company stock should be 200 naira never mind 525 naira, the fundamentals and the technicals doesn't support this and as other local refineries come on line and energy market price becomes more competitive the share price should be well priced below 200 bucks..

Wait o, are we going to ignore how you will become a member of Dangote's empire and you will not want the US-Iran war to end? You will want the fuel price to be very high, wouldn't you?

Will you want NNPC refineries to work?

Will you want subsidy returned? 🤔

I no say make u no buy shares but you know as dem de always talk am say Dangote is a business man, businessmen are only interested in one thing, PROFIT and market share.

Profit means that as long as there are problems and your company is making money, you are happy. Na why we no still get light till today. Some people are benefiting from the darkness.

Market share means you don't want competitors to take the market share. You and I are very aware of Dangote in other industries.

Anyway, let me call my stockbroker, let's buy that thing grin We are all in this together!
