Imagine this insult to the sensibility of a nation and downplaying the suffering of its citízens. Now see the kinds of demons that are ruling a nation and the imbeciles supporting them.
Bwala threw the first banger, now Omokri is throwing the knockout and it's not even December yet.

Let's assume an average Nigerian can survive on 3k as he said, in a month going by the minimum wage of 70k that's not enough and you'll be wallowing in debt of 30k. Make it make sense
Re: "An Average Nigerian Can Live On N3,000 Daily" - Reno Omokri by Ebydeb: 12:47pm On Sep 14
3k daily, that is 93k monthly. Meanwhile minimum wage is 70k. Even a single Nigerian cannot survive on 3k daily, how much more a family man?

I hope Reno is aware that N3000 will not fuel the car he used to to go for the market survey
When you say living on N3000 daily you should factor in transport, feeding and utilities like power and water.

Just making a case for feeding as daily living is reducing people to animals. It is only animals that their daily living is about feeding alone

That said, I don't know the market Reno went to but quote me anywhere, you can't get a tuber of yam for less than 1500 anywhere in this country today. A mudu of beans is over 1000 as well. Let's not go into rice. If you cook with charcoal, they sell a mudu of charcoal for N500. If it's gas, you're looking at 1300 to 1400. Pepper and tomatoes are cheap now. You should be able to get a considerable amount of both for 1000.

The above has already exceeded 3000 and we've not added onion, seasoning, and proteins. We've not added transport.

These guys should stop lying to hide the reality of the average Nigerian. Nigeria is not easy to survive at the moment!
You forgot to add health. Imagine when someone who earns 3,000 daily falls sick.

Once you take up a job of supporting and defending evil, your true nature hides no more.
Reno Omokri has always been an ill-intentioned human being. We only didn't know he holds a top position in it.

I wanted to attack Reno but from what I read on Japa threads about Nigeria, e.g. in comparison with UK, I think he may be right. Nigerians can even survive on less than that. People are suffering in places like UK, they need to move to Nigeria cool

Basic statistics.

Maximum, Average, Minimum, Mean, Median, Mode etc.

We have been saying this thing for several years that Nigerians are poor.

But when it is time to talk about how to end poverty, all the ideas we get from.both goverment and opposition is more borrowing for welfare programmes.

Nothing about improving domestic productivity.

The poverty discussion in Nigeria is a prop for political points scoring.

Reno, seeing as he is now in goverment, is excusing nonsense
They have no plans for economic recovery the way you and I think, the way it concerns improved atmosphere for businesses, the way enterprises mushroom and the consequential rise in employment and compensations...

It is a tax and spend government anchored on welfarism which is typical of feudal setups. Big government, small private sector and the inevitable political patronage that comes from crumbs from the master:s table to oil the loyalty machine.

8 years of this government will pass and we will be saying the same thing as from the beginning till the bitter end. Bookmark this.

If you want to revive an economy there are deliberate steps to take. If you want to reform an economy there are deliberate steps to take. The only reforms made by government so far have concerned giving it more revenue. That is all. This does not translate to economic success as much as taking a bank loan does not translate to business success.

In statistics, average is one of the measure of central tendency and in a group of data, average or mean sometimes is close to the median. The others are just outliers which don't paint the reality of the data. So going by that, he is spilling nonsense.
Re: "An Average Nigerian Can Live On N3,000 Daily" - Reno Omokri by Datedoboy: 12:58pm On Sep 14
Lets assume what Mr Reno said is correct , 3k daily for 30 days is 90k and minimum wage is 70k.

What he is indirectly saying is that someone who earns 70k is a slave and cannot survive because he or she needs 20k to balance up feeding for the month and should not wear clothes to work and should never rent an apartment.

Anyways, some people are already sleeping in offices so it's nothing new. What is left is for people to go to work without clothes or at best, put on worn out clothes because the salary forbids them to.

In addition, someone that earns 90k should not enter transport, buy gas, must not rent an apartment, not marry or raise children. He or she must trek to and fro work daily.

In essence, a minimum wage earner should only eat and work just like animals.

How else do you want to define slavery. I have always said that what the whites did to blacks is nothing compared to the modern slavery of blacks to one another.

3000 x 30 = 90,000.

90k for the month. That's not Transportation and Light Bills.

Then the day you have Malaria and Typhoid, you'd know, that 3k is no longer feasible.

Reno Omokri’s ₦3,000 argument reveals a disturbing disconnect from reality

proving that a Nigerian can survive on ₦3,000 for a day is not proof that ₦3,000 is enough to live on—it is proof of how far Nigerians have been forced to stretch their limited income, and mistaking survival for a decent standard of living is precisely the problem.

Is Reno Omokri trying to subtly get back at Tinubu for double-crossing him on the ambassadorial appointment?
.
He no longer has that kind of balls.

Where would he go? To the opposition he helped demolish?

He's stuck now, and at this point, Tinubu probably has something on him.

If husband and wife pull their 3k together, it may cater for a young family of 5-6 for a day.

Rice - 1 mudu 1600
Beans - 1 mudu 1300
Palm oil - half bottle - 900
Vegetable oil - half bottle - 900
Beef - 1000
Poverty should be your middle name

How much is a plate of food? How much per drop for okada or keke or bus?

I'm assuming an average Nigerian eats once in day.

This Omokri has started talking nonsense again.

Re: "An Average Nigerian Can Live On N3,000 Daily" - Reno Omokri by Shikena(m): 1:13pm On Sep 14
Yes but until you got called out you only used minimum as your counter argument when he clearly mentioned average.

In Nigeria, organized labour is less than 8% of the population and that's where minimum wage applies. For example, a fish seller in Makoko mentioned earning at least N6k daily in profit, a bus conductor is also in that range as well as a pure water or ice block hustler.

This is not very straightforward without adequate data. It's all subjective and skewed.

An average Nigerian does not buy food outside. That makes it a lot cheaper. Outside of Lagos and Abuja, we still have millions of Nigerians in other environment.

Let’s even assume what this idiot said is right, 3k multiplied by 30 is 90k. Minimum wage is 70k. What should the common man do with the remaining days?
