Lagos State House of Assembly member, Desmond Elliot, has apologised to Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, over his actions during the last All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Lagos.

Elliot is seen in a video circulating on social media, on his knees pleading with Gbajabiamila for forgiveness and seeking reintegration into the ruling party in Lagos.

I’m sorry, I have no excuse, I have nothing other than to say I’m deeply sorry and I am hoping to be cultured in the future,” Elliot said.

The development followed a disagreement between Elliot and the party leadership after the APC primary for the Surulere Constituency I seat in May.

Elliot had withdrawn from the exercise, alleging intimidation and political pressure against his supporters.

He subsequently rejected the outcome of the primary and said he would challenge the process through the party’s appeal mechanism.

Elliot eventually lost the APC ticket to Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, who was believed to enjoy the backing of Gbajabiamila.

Odunuga-Bakare polled 11,385 votes to defeat Elliot, who secured 270 votes in the primary.

I think it's high time Desmond needs to stop this desperation. It's OK to apologise to your leader if you think that you have offended him but becoming se desperate and lustful for power is too much. More so what's with the entitlement? Your party has given you 2 opportunities and we no see anything tangible weyou do for your constituency

Anyway this is a lesson for all whenever you are in power, waka jeje, rule number 2 do not underestimate anybody no matter how irrelevant or insignificant he looks or portrays himself. If you are an adult and you're yoruba you will know this instinctively and rule number 3,do not fight your boss,I don't care if he's a good or bad boss.you will likely loose the battle and be seen as a traitor or someone not to be trusted with power.

As he kneel down so even gbajamila nor fit trust am with power or anything again and trust is a very expensive currency in politics that you cannot afford to loose.if your party people loose trust in you, your political career is dead and I know elliot was put there for a reason to prove a point and pass a message and they have achieved that.

Desmond comot your eye for politics and face nollywood jeje. If thry manage give you another position na set up o.wonfeba tieje or use you to fight their own enemy and abandon you to nurse your wounds yourself

This one no want commot eyes for politics na money he find go there.
A lot has been happening to him , after he lost the primary. He won't say that in the public. From ostracization to intimidation.

Threat to expose all his activities during his tenure especially financial embezzlement, what he was supposed to do , but didn't do for his constituency.

So it is best to clear the air and move on. Because in Lagos , he is politically dead .

Something like that . And Gbaja really like him. But that got into his head . And was listening to some people pushing him. Same way they pushed Fubara in the gutter ..

Desmond went public saying all manner of trash just to get public sympathy, from same people he publicly insulted .

You all used to worship amaechi and sang his praise nonstop and foamed profusely over Wike so what is your squawking now?
grin
It seems you just came across the word " foam". If your knowledge of comprehension is good, this wouldn't be your response. Work on that in addition to your knowledge of political history too.

Cheers.

I just lost any respect I ever had for Desmond.
It's obvious that it's the state house of assembly that is currently sustaining his lifestyle.
So aside politics,he is probably financially finished.

I just hope is not too late for his political career.
Sadly , it is too late .
But Gbaja really like him , he might give him another chance . Especially in Abuja through the president.
But that won't be Surulere anymore. He already messed up there.

Like Elliot , like Fubara.

1. Never try to run past your shadow.

2. Never over rate your self.

3. Ignore social media noise pushing and urging you on.

4. Your boss is your boss if not for ever but for some time and era.
Did u see Obaseki? Edo no be lagos.. Thats how its done. Fubara is a mumu governor was doesnt know the range and scope of his powers so went into unconstitunational agreements and sold his birth right for a plate of tinubus porridge.

Elliot is a little fish that thought he was a big fish.

Well, it is an acceptable culture in the Southwest. Nothing shameful here. He is simply begging for forgiveness.

Shameless Nigerian politicians. They re all the same.
One would have taught as a nollyhood representative, how you shot movies and pass about selfish politicians, when you get the opportunity you will serve with a difference. But, here we go still d same old fairy tale "give a man money and power you will swe his true colors".
